Each Stage has the following point breakdown.

Point Breakdown

1st place – 25 points
2nd place – 18 points
3rd place – 15 points
4th place – 12 points
5th place – 10 points
6th place – 8 points
7th place – 6 points
8th place – 4 points
9th place – 2 points
10th place – 1 point

With eight stages there is a total of 808 points available to win with 101 up for grabs in each stage for the Rally Racer Entries.

For our Corporate Partners who wish to Sponsor this particular stage (and future stages) we offer the same system but in lieu of an entry participant the Sponsors will instead fund a racer, with any points that racer wins then being tallied towards that Sponsors total. Additionally there is no restriction of number of Sponsors per racer, in the event that the stage winner is Sponsored by more than a single Corporate Partner winnings will be divided equally among each sponsor. Finally Corporate Sponsors are not obligated to select a racer until 12 hours before the event but may provide the Sponsor Fee ahead of time to pre-book a slot selection. (//Yes you are basically gambling on the racers with a chance to win a grand prize should you fail to pick a winner this stage.)

Secondary Sponsorship Options

"Stage Title Sponsor" - 200 million credits per stage

As the stage entitlement sponsor, you'll benefit from having your name directly attached to the most popular form of racing in Sirius. As the title sponsor of the top series in Orbital, you'll gain tremendous brand exposure and loyalty from the sport’s fan base.

"Team Sponsor" - 100 million credits for all 8 stages or 14 million per stage

Sponsoring an Orbital race team is very similar to the same sponsorship in more traditional “stick and ball” sports, where you have rights to use the logos of the team and are an “Official Partner” of the team.

Race team sponsors are the companies and the brands that you see on the racers at every race. No other point of entry in Orbital sponsorship allows access to the fighter branding. With a race team sponsorship, you are forward-facing to the race fans and gain visibility like no other opportunity in team sports. All team assets, including the fighter, are branded. This list includes, but is not necessarily limited to, the driver, driver/crew fire suits, freighter hauler, race equipment, social media/PR support and content production.

"League Sponsor" - 50 million credits

Sponsorship at the league level does not provide direct access to teams or drivers. Instead, it allows companies the opportunity to associate their brand with the Orbital Racing logo and use “Official Partner of Orbital Racing” in their branding/messaging. This level of sponsorship usually includes items such as "The Official Drink of Orbital Racing, Cherry Liberty Ale" and so on.

Rally Stage - Regulations

Racers may not use JumpDrives in any capacity
Racers will be separated by an interval of 1:30 or other time set by the on site race coordinator
Racers will be obligated to land on Planet Manhattan to purchase a minimum of 1 unit of Liberty Ale.
There are no other restrictions*.

Other Restrictions

Nothing is stopping your "Unlwaful" from flying IRP in the race under a pseudonym

Flight Risks

The route is long for a reason, you might have a trade lane disrupted, a pirate might attack you, the Police might want a cargo scan, worse yet, your fellow racers might consider you a target as well.

It might be better to take a different route than the rest, or pay your friends to sabotage the competition.

Q&A

Can my unlawful participate?

Yes and No
Unlawfuls can participate via shell organizations to provide corporate sponsors on racers
Unlawfuls can participate via disrupting the lanes in the event corridor to slow/stop/pirate the racers invovled
Unlawfuls cannot participate as a racer themselves

But what is keeping an "Unlawful" from buying an "unregistered" arrow or whatever and flying under a pseudonym

Nothing, feel free to register and participate, but don't let the secret out!

Do I need to register in advance?

To Race, yes, last minute betting will be available ingame until the start of the race but I would really really prefer to have it all down in advance

200 million for a stage sponsor? Whats that get me?

In essence I'll slap your corporation name on as many items as possible for that particular stage, and depending on the difficultly, no doubt some punny advertisements to go along with it. A OSCN post similar to this one will be made signalling your corporations participation in the stage along with a short "who you are" advertisement.

Okay, so then what is the team sponsor? Isn't that just the same as the stage corporate sponsor?

Yes, but by choosing this "sponsorship" level its cheaper over the duration of the stages, additionally you'll have the option of participating in the race but able to "bet" on a different racer should you choose.

League Sponsor?

I'll work with you to create an inrp item which best represents your entity which will become a new "Offical (blank) of Orbital Racing" which will also be mentioned on race day

It looks like more people are interested in the technical side of the race (sponsorship, logistics, permission to use facilities) than actual racers racing

Racing in Discovery has always been a fickle event, even in the best of times. Moving forward there won't be a physical representation of racers and this event will continue mainly on the forms. You'll no doubt see Orbital here again soon!
