Cloaks are fine. If you don't like it, use a Cloak Disruptor. Easy.

Power does not corrupt. Fear corrupts... perhaps the fear of a loss of power.

You know that things have gone too far when a loli pfp needs to lay down law. Cloaks are cloaks. They replace cms. If you use a cloak, you will deserve and receive enough missiles to please the United States of Armament. So what if blue hunters farm you? If you don't like those players, play somewhere else. I'd give you the song and dance about where I don't play anymore, but that would summon undesirables. Also, f you really want to crutch on something, cloaks are a terrible choice. Cannonballs work so much better. Even 8.33s are a better crutch than cloaks. Learn to fly solaris cruisers. There are plenty of crutches in the game. Hell, just fly zoners. No one will shoot you except indie LSF, and normally you can report them for that. Pick a different crutch. Open your mind to... ozzer possibilities.

Living to fight another day isn't cowardace. Its not only an arcade game. Increase the value of cloaks if necessary, they shouldn't be totally useless in that capacity . How do you define a deserved blue? It had been fine for years, if the game had to be changed to help them, it wasn't deserved. Ah but yes now I remember, the wieners frown on those who actually try, thats why the events always have rules beyond server rules to make them force people into losing. You don't have to let yourself die to prove you're brave. Kiddos just pier pressure against trying to keep them from having to work harder, and thats been a huge anchor on this place.

I'm talking about snub cloaks, not freighters. Running from anything in a snub, or gunboat. I already used cloaks on freighters anyways, regardless of the 20s charge time and didn't really ever expect to escape unless I wasn't very engaged in the first place. I fought it out to the death many times on my bactrian last year.

If snubs avoiding pvp death too much from cloaks is soo bad, its definitely the value that should be going up. I couldn't care less if a light cloak went up to 500 mil!

At that point, just delete cloaks and add dual mines + Dual missiles to SHFs

Think about it, we have heavy and light shields that trade off capacity for recharge rate. Why not have heavy and light cloaks that trade off capacity for recharge time? One for scouting and other for "tactical retreats". Make the "cowardly one" be really situational and only possible to use for a short break off or running away in a situation where you are on the edge of an asteroid field (so just about enough time to get away from someone stuck in reduced sensor range) and I think everyone will then be happy...

Like someone once said (paraphrased) "you don't increase activity by removing options".

That quote always sucked ass anyway. Sometimes when things are bad you improve the quality of the mod as a whole by just deleting them.

As far as snub cloaks go -- everyone already said what I wanted to say. Now they're cool for actually flying around cloaked with and they're no longer one-trick ponies used only by people who get their egos bruised by winding up blued.
