Vero is a legend, although not so well known on this server. He was one of the best administrators of an old (and, a year ago, hugely popular) vanilla server before vanilla died a death. (RAW)
I think I can safely say that not one person on that server ever had a bad word to say against him. He was just, fair, level haeded, and a great contributor to the server (one of the few RPers on that server, I have to say).

I can't think of many people that I have ever met that would do a better job, even if my opinion is based upon experiences of this player on another server rather than here.

Whilst the exploits of people on other servers than this one mean little most people here, I would urge you not to fall into the trap of believing this server cannot benefit from wisdom and experience attained on gaming communities that have been around much longer than this one.

Whilst not well known, I believe Vero would make a great adittion to the admin team here, having more practical experience of policing Freelancer servers than most other candidates.

I talked with Splitiro after he was banned. (whom I also dont know.) And I can see why he was banned.
But during our conversation, he mentioned that you had talked to him
(and when I asked, he gave me some specifics.) I will not mention them here. You're also fairly new to Disco.

But what I can say from that and after looking you up and reading your posts. I have one word.

The first thing Id like to say is thank you to the current Admin staff for being willing to give an outsider a chance to prove his trustworthiness.
For those who voted yes for giving me a trial run at Admin, thank you for your willingness to take a chance.
For those who voted no, I completely understand your concerns, and in your positions I might very well have voted the same as you did.

I can assure all of you that my application for server Admin has nothing to do with any desire for personal gain or a wish to be in the spotlight. I merely wish to do my part in helping to keep the Discovery server a fair and even playing field, free from modders and those who ignore the rules. If I am given the position do not expect great things from me. I will try to do my best, which is all anyone can ask.

If the majority of people in this community feel it is unwise for this heavy responsibility to be placed upon me I am fully willing to remove my application for the position and go on just playing for fun while others shoulder the responsibility. Though I cant say Id be happy knowing I could do more and not do it.

Here is a short bio and background on Vero:
My real name is John, I live in California, and Im 39 years old. Im married and have 3 children. Ive worked for the same employer for over 18 years. I enjoy writing stories about my characters and attempting to RP them in game. Though I dont consider myself to be very good at RP I do try my best.

On Raw server I joined the Judges (server police) after one month on the server. I was eventually made an Admin (and still have Admin rights there now). I also eventually took over leadership of the Outcast Alvarez family (one of the largest and few RP based clans on Raw) and ran it for more than a year as well (The Benitez family on Discovery was based on, and started by, our family from Raw (props to Carlos youre doing well, hermano).

I first came to the Discovery RP forums just under a year ago on the recommendation of a fellow player from Raw when our server community was dying out. After spending a few days poking around the forums and reading a bit about the community I decided to download the mod and give the server a try.
Even though I was offered spots in a couple of factions along the way I flew exclusively as an independent until March when I joined the then unofficial Synth Foods Inc. faction where I am quite happy to spend my gaming time.

Well, there you have it. Vero all wrapped up in a few paragraphs.
