"Would you mind if I took a closer look?" Having said this he gestured towards her arm, implying that if she presented him with her hand that it would satisfy the request. Despite her brief explanation about her past, he didn't seem to mind at all and absorbed the words without any visible reaction and no signs of having ignored her either. And although his request would seem simple, as with anything he did, there was more to it than that. It was a subtle enough way of testing if she was uncomfortable with the idea of him being close to her. The primary motivation was something he'd already been upfront about.

Sun looks towards him, she is a little unsure at first due to the intimacy of it but relents showing her right arm towards Him. Her Tattoo is intricate and details, red and blue kois on black and grey waves. There's a few flowers that weave in and out the tattoo. There is a lot of history to it as Sun does a smile towards him. She's feeling a little less apprehensive towards the Xeno, despite deep down knowing his murderous nature she has no fear of him. She also knows it is a way for him to test her, and she seems to gladly accept it.
Idly, he traces some of the designs with his index finger, wondering if he can notice any patterns to the themes present or figure out what they might mean. Every detail seems symbolic of a moment in Sun's life, like a book plastered into the skin for all to see but very few, perhaps only one person to understand - herself. "I'm glad I asked you to wear a dress." Soon after saying that he withdrew his hand and looked back up at her, making eye contact. It was an open ended enough of a statement that it seemed like a compliment to both how she looked in the dress, and the important detail that was her tattoos.

Sun pauses a little as he traces his index finger along her arm, they map out of a story of her exploits most likely but it is hard to tell without knowing the detail. She smiles briefly at Damien as he compliments the dress, speaking a little more nervously "E-Every flower is a deed for a gang, a murder, a smuggling job or a robbery" she comments with her friendly smile "I don't look at them as often as I should, this dress- it comes from that time, a gift, from my husband" she says as she watches the egg-timer. There's no remorse, she's healed from the grief of the past or at least knows how to bury it deep down within her.
It wasn't a very obvious or repeated incident of her tripping over her words, but it did happen and he did catch it. Her nerves hadn't entirely gone away and he felt he had something to do with their sudden resurgence, the amusement prompted him to smile. "You have a colorful history, just like the art on your skin. But I like that about you, it means you're neither weak nor gullible." He hadn't expressed what he thought about her history before, but he chose to do so now, wondering if that would help with her nerves. The timer continued to audibly tick along, but he paid it no mind, his focus was elsewhere.

Sun look between him and the egg-timer, she pauses at the mention of her history, but does a smile "I have no fear, life has lost its terrors and suffering its sting. I instead fill myself with a new meaning, to help others" she calms down a little after saying that, keeping on her emotional path of sereneness. "I was once a Freelancer, this ship is from those days, the Bodhi, meaning enlightenment. It is also the tree where Buddha achieved his enlightenment hence..." she shows Damien a clear view of her Buddhist-Tattoo, a black tree with pink-leaves spiralling off it, the trunk of the tree is a human with arms outstretched that turn into branches.
Feeling he could afford to be a little cheeky under the circumstances, he allowed his wit some degree of autonomy in what it could come up with. "All it's missing is a snake in the grass to ward off nuisances." Faintly, he traces the outline of a hooded serpent at the base of this particular tattoo on the back of her head. Sun can derive from the motion of his finger that the way he's drawn the shape intends for a rather large creature to rise up from the roots of the grand tree, a nod to the grassroots nature of the cause he represents, and an unintended reference to a Buddhist legend.

Sun smiles as he traces his finger across her tree tattoo, she comments in a friendly manner and with a grin "You have no idea how close you are, there was a snake under the tree, Mucalinda who protected Buddha from the elements" she says happily as she watches the egg-timer tick down. Sun seems more relaxed with him around now, less nervous
After he'd made his point, or perhaps more appropriately finished tracing the shape he described on the back of her head, he again withdrew his hand. "A detail worth adding in the future, maybe when we've grown closer, close enough that I'll have seen all your tattoos." An implication laced with the sort of subtlety people had come to know him for, but rarely did he ever have a chance to put it to use like this. It hardly felt intentional to him to make such notions come across the way they did, it was simply just second nature which trickled into conversation on occasion. He had a way with people, professionally and otherwise, that much was undeniable. Perhaps it was even one of his greatest strengths as a person, and as a leader of a cause like the Alliance.

Sun turns towards him after that comment she raises a eyebrow, the egg-timer goes off, she jumps a little and opens the pot up adding a vegetable broth to the vegetable mix. She smiles towards Damien "You are a charmer, Damien" she says towards him a heart chuckle "I admit it certainly sounds appealing but, this is only our first date" she says gently towards him.
