The Fourth Battle of D3S-K

The Corsair fleet has been brought up to full strength, with the Praefect yet again being repaired. This is largely in part due to a newly constructed forward operating base on the outskirts of the system.

Liberty, having seen the devastating power of the Corsairs in the last battle, have dedicated a full strike group to dislodging them.

Finding the opposing capital ships takes little effort, and both fleets prepare for battle.


Turn 1:

The light forces boosted towards each other, exchanging light fire in the middle of the battlefield. The heavy units, meanwhile cut speed, hoping to keep the enemy in optimal firing arcs.

The liberty destroyers were largely ineffective, with both a siege guns missing. Secondary turrets managing to strip the red imperator's shields.

The liberty battleship received a few heavy hits to it's shields, but in return obliterated the Praefect's own.

Turn 2:

Heavy damage this turn, with the large ships battering each other at ever closing range. The red imperator has taken heavy hull damage, as have the Praefect (30%) and Overlord (78%).

The fighters have been largely fighting amongst themselves, but the blue titan squadron did help take down the battleship's shields.

The liberty destroyers have been largely untouched, with only the silver destroyer sustaining shield damage.

So far, looks like the Corsairs are taking the worst of it.

Turn 3:

A devastating turn for the Corsairs. The Praefect was lost to fire from the silver destroyer, while the red titan squadron was lost to the libertonian fighters. Lastly the red imperator was obliterated by the liberty battleship.

This is just a cleanup operation now.

Turn 4:

The Corsairs managed to get into the rear of the liberty formation, but that is merely prolonging the inevitable. One defender squadron was lost, but all of the corsairs have taken damage in return.

Sadly I've run out of time to finish the battle, but it's a clear victory for liberty.

Neither destroyer has suffered hull damage, and the battleship is still at 78% health.

The remaining corsairs flee to their staging base, to prepare for the siege ahead

The dreadnought was actually the easiest of the "big ships" so far. Only 3 parts. The Storta had 5, and the Praefect 4.
