and all is good. Sometimes people still go in anyways and you have to rage at them, but more often than not they let you have your fight.
And if even after you offer to face them alone they refuse - well then that's on them
No, that's also a dick move. Why should your 2 team mates stop and give you the "win"?
The right thing to do is to log the other side if you really want to make fights fairer. It's not to tell your own team mates to do things that will make them lose, or to let them down when they need you.
Not running into traps where you'll be outnumbered is part of good combat tactics. An hour ago I rode down the wrong lane during a siege and had at least 5 guys shoot at me for it. That's the game, its to expected, and no reason to complain. Prolonging the combat to last 10 minutes instead of the 2 that it did wouldnt have made things any more fun for me and would have been tactically stupid on their part.
In disco there has always been a huge amount of hypocrisy around totally backwards dogmas of alleged "fairness" which coincidentally tends to benefit the stronger more vocal side instead of the weaker side in 90% of cases.
My complaint is about the problematic behavior of one of your faction members and not of your whole faction for "not ganking".
Let me begin with that the LibGov, which 5th| is a part of (I assume), imposes 500 million yearly tax on all liberty POBs, including the besieged one.
The encounter took place during a siege of one of these POBs. The defending team had 4 ships (including Ice Princess's 5th|LNS-Kansas) at the time, the attackers had at least 6. Your humble servant cut the lane and isolated one of the siegers, hoping that it would give his team enough of a timeframe to reduce the enemy numerical superiority and prepare for the fight against the main fleet.
As evidently shown in the recording provided by Ice Princess, other defenders were aware of what's happening, Baku asked Ice Princess to engage. She refused to target one of the enemy characters (MNS-Lepanto) even after the arrival of other outcast players, overtly acting as if she cares more about his gameplay experience than that of any other player in the ally or enemy team, let alone defense of the POB which, let me remind you, pays LibGov credits.
My opinion is that it wasn't great behavior.
Instead of accepting criticism and/or pointing out my mistakes, you resorted to snarky comments here and on discord.
My sarcastic tone wasn't a big helper either, but now that it's in the past and we're all calm it can be sorted out.
This has been resolved, it seems 5th rules and behavior adapted to the siege with a compromise since then.
They still don't pile, but there hasn't been blatant standing around while others die either. Kudos for taking feedback on board!

I am sorry but I wasn't on the Kansas. The Kansas is a shared ship of the faction. I am mostly logging my personal caps, if I even log caps. But yes, this is resolved.
EDIT: Liberty is the cheapest house to build a PoB in. You just need to do the maths.
EDIT OF THE EDIT: Also wrong Feedback thread for LibGov matters. That would be the [LN] one.

- not whining
- not my POB
- not in any way related to it other than choosing to play for defenders in this siege
- POB siege balance is a separate topic unrelated to my complaint or this thread
- why do I even respond to this?

Either I missed it or you didn't mention it wasn't you before.
You replied first and gave us that awesome footage, so it was just natural to assume.
