2, SRP system: It's slow, arbitrary and too subjective.

3. A wide spectrum of opinion among players of what constitutes proper RP. While there's a lot of cringe-worthy RP on the server, chock full of recycled sci-fi tropes, it honestly doesn't bother me. Some other players, however, seem to make it their life's mission to pillory any RP that deviates from their personal standards and ruins their "immersion". First world problems, I say.

4. Too many (large) systems means less interaction.

5. POB construction and upkeep (I don't own one): If you have a job, family, studies, social life, they are incredibly onerous. Make them cheaper to build and maintain. If we're worried about having too many, than limit one per player/group.

6. Cap codes: Some of them are useful in certain situations, while others are universally useful. They do give you an edge in PVE/PVP, so they are definitely not cosmetic bling-bling. All of the cap codes are way too pricey. Imho, a cynical or poorly thought out attempt to drain money out of the economy. At most they BS codes should be 250 - 200 million credits, Cruiser codes 100 - 75 million credits and fighter codes 50 - 25 million credits.

7. Players and devs who seem to be in favor of turning a game into a job. Understandably it can be a challenge to balance the urge of instant gratification with the feeling of achieving something, but it's doable.

8. All games eventually become uninteresting - even the good ones.

1. Real life responsibilities : I agree. Everyone has a life out of it, and there isn't thousands of players right now to counterbalance that.

2. SRP System : Yes, it's an awful system. It needs to be reworked from the ground up or entirely replaced.

3. No comment.

4. Yes. Too much systems and many are too large (looking at you, Omicron Lost).

5. POB Construction & Upkeep: Yes. They are a massive toll on you. I don't know why "too many" POB annoys people. Let people do their thing, no? A limitation as you said is good.

6. No comment. Never owned any. Either way it does drains money out as you said, while the codes guns can still be considered as capital and retains its value.

7. No comment.

8. Indeed. This is a sad fact but it doesn't mean this one is at its end just yet. It still has infinite potential, but it's either slowed down or impossible to realize.

You log and there's literally nothing to do.
No one's massing for a raid, there's no convoy following a predictable route, no system is swarming with miners.
This sometimes changes during the events, but those only last for a couple of weeks, target different regions/factions every time, so many just CBA to participate.

Preparing a battle and keeping a faction alive takes more time than I have. Disco isn't efficient enough when it comes to fun per unit of time.

Probably the best TL;DR of the issue Disco is facing that you'll find in this thread.

There's just nothing (enjoyable) to do that doesn't involve other players already being logged in. Travel times are still - even after a lot of system culling and shrinking - very long. People here will unironically say "But Haste, that's part of the charm!". Yeah, it was charming in 2008. Nowadays it's just outdated. You can't reasonably expect players to fly for twenty minutes on the off chance that the player(s) they're looking to interact with haven't already logged off by the time you get there.

We need fun things you can do on your own or cooperatively so that people can log in and just have a good 'singleplayer' experience. But I'm not sure how feasible that is. Doesn't help that I can already hear the crying of players that got shot while doing whatever that activity is because how dare players shoot other players while they're [mining/trading/pve'ing]. And unfortunately, rather than telling those babies to suck it up, we'd probably end up catering to them.

Delta was fun before Lyth killed it
A real activity Hub. You had Farmers, RPers, nomads, everything all in one system all day long.

Omicrons were killed for the sake of "Quality". Guess what. Only people that matter are those that log into the game. Without them it dies.

Many guys still live in the past. Nowadays you compete with modern games and dwindling numbers.

You see all the posts in this thread about people saying the reason why they don't feel like playing the game anymore is because of the declining roleplay quality and lack of quality encounters? Yeah, something tells me that LNS-Ivan_666 grouped with Outcasts farming Nomads in Delta with zero English or care for roleplay becoming an activity source in any quantity doesn't seem very sustainable long-term or something people would like to interact with for long. People would be sitting at FP11 waiting for roleplay encounters and just be met by an endless stream of all manner of ooRP ship/ID combinations, being completely silent and only focused on shutting running missions in and out of the station. If they were lucky, they might get some Cyrillic in local or fragmented English asking them about mission grinding. The fact of the matter is until recently Delta was a glorified PvE Connecticut, and I can't see how anyone thinks that is good or healthy for Discovery. Wanting those kinds of interactions is just aiming for the bare minimum and there are plenty of games out there that offer that sort of experience but still provide more.

Recent changes to the Omicrons have created dedicated PvE and mining hotspots and significantly improved connections and travel times (it is now about 5 minutes to get to Malta from Crete). The problem is the players aren't logging in. It's a self-destructive cycle, for reasons outlined in previous posts here.

People don't log - we told you why they don't log.

Big faction that drives activity in Omicrons are nomads. Nomads do NOT Rely on RP in the omicrons.

1) Lolwuts log
2) Nomads cleanse
3) everyone else logs for nomads

4) Nomads win = > they raid. Organically. With just pinging and no scheduling. They can also go ALL OUT because they have a wall of loads of HP to go through.
Without that wall when nomads now masslog - they mostly just gank steamroll all every time. Other factions don't have the time the lolwut CAU8 nephs bought them, and other nomads. It's not their fault. It's Your fault.

Only people that cared that it was a semi-conn were people that never logged, and they don't log now either

Your own HC Is telling you this and you won't listen. Because you don't play the game. There are a lot of people like you in the community, most of them barely play. They will rather see it die than witness people having fun by doing what's not seen as "quality" in their subjective PoV.
