Rather decisively, Damien gestured back to 21 with a shake of the hand, implying he had no desire of accepting the offer of a cigarette. "I don't. Foul habit." It almost seemed to come from a place of discipline, which wasn't entirely uncharacteristic of the Commander. People often regarded him as a man of few vices, rarely did he ever accept the offer of a drink or any indulgence for that matter. No, he derived more pleasure from putting people in a vice as a result of their abuse of the same. And ultimately, that's what the cause itself boiled down to.

"Jury rigging this thing to work with the parts we can get our hands on is going to be agonizing. But as far as the systems go, I don't think I'll have much in the way of problems." It would take time naturally, but as far as programs and consoles went there was an order to them, which once understood allowed for amendment and alterations where necessary. This ship would need quite the handful of them to fly again, especially if it had safeties against the installation of parts which weren't authorized by the original manufacturer.

On indefinite hiatus because the current state of gameplay sucks - ping me over discord if replies are needed

"If that was indeed the case 21, you'd be saying hello to a blackjack table not us." Nathan let out a slight chuckle at his own crude jab. Partially because he got reminded of all the money he lost when playing a round with this scoundrel.

"Yeah, that much I have figured Boss. The engines shouldn't be a problem, Scrapers come with a Bretonian engine. Got plenty of experience mishandling those. Hydraulics for the most part should be universal to fix and handle. Powercores can be swapped. Distributors too." His mind was considering all the possibilities while he listed everything that could be replaced along the way.

"Tricky part is the space-frame, hull and armor, and the nerdy shit. That last one you might be able to take a look at, Boss. Not to mention that error message caused by the fucking kettle." Computerized systems like these were hit or miss. Some, guarded like the holy grail, others were easily bypassed by writing 'admin' into the username and password section.

"Question is, would it be worth the effort? I'm sure it would look nice as decoration on Leyte. Would make a nice chandelier."

In a rather childish way, Two-one pouted jokingly under his face gear at Morreti's refusal to cigarettes. "Well fine then." Phantom sighed peacefully before looking back up to Nathan in the cockpit of the fighter. This sight made the pilot joyous. Every person he cared about was doing well at this very moment on top of being busy with their own tasks.

"Don't be like that. You already know I visited my one true love first anyway." Arthur glared at him with a grin under the mask. "Seems you've got this thing figured out, pal." He paused for a brief moment, "If you do need help with anything, give me a shout. I'm probably able to assist. Probably." Two-One sealed away the carton of cigarettes that he still had in his hand back into one of the empty pockets at the top of the vest.

"Eh. I am not this white-haired punk, but, I think it's worth it." Armstrong extended his fist towards Nathan, forming it into a thumbs-up sign."It'd be pretty fucking radical to see this on our side."

There it sat, in a dusty storage hangar avoided by most. Surrounded by wrecks of CTE and other civilian ships, waiting to be scrapped or restored. In the first few days, the visits were daily. Nathan showed up to tinker with it a bit, swap out some parts here, fix some others there. Days soon turned to weekends. Enthusiasm vaned for the project; the once exotic ship became more of a headache and a reason to curse at Bretonian engineering solutions.

As with every project and hobby, the more it turns into a chore, the less one wants to deal with it. Nathan has no time nor patience to go over the entire wiring of the ship, just to find the single part that got fried by a mechanic. There were changes in the Alliance too. What little free time he had was turned towards other, more important matters. Patching up ships after patrols, teaching some of the daft Alliance members that a parking light fluid doesn’t exist, along with teaching them simple repairs. You broke it, you fix it.

Thus, the project itself was destined to fail. Gradual extinction through lack of attention.
