One thing I'd like to point out - the Overpowered argumend seems void to me. People here think SHF=Spatial/Osprey/Warhammer/Anzu

But Arrastra OSC shuttle and Plier have shown that the class was actually balanced while being able to be a hybrid.

GUNS - Same
Armor Buffed now CAU removed
Batteries - lower decrease than mass decrease
Power core Same regen, lower core
Agility - Buffed. Fast Reverse speed removed (afaik)
Was it overused? No, it was what a hybrid was suppose to be - a niche solo ship. That will be now just less fun to play because you can't switch to caps.


The only benefit for The Plier here is that beginners that don't know how to play turret view will use it over freighter without needing to invest into CAU. In effect the same thing will happen to them as it always did on Plier - longer fight followed by inevitable death, and they can't shoot caps

Apparently the OSC Shuttle was at some point so busted that it had to be nerfed to 10% on Freelancer ID & Co? At least that's what I've heard.

Good example. Seven degrees of extra turn speed, massively improved response speed, significantly increased strafe speed thanks to the mass reduction, comparable powercore recharge (that's the relevant part - without SNACs capacity past a certain point is pretty useless), similar total HP between the armor increase and very minor nanobot nerf.

This thing got buffed a whole lot.

Plier and the shuttle must have gotten nerfed around the same time, when I tested it it was pretty weak.
I mentioned this many times before the changes were made after we saw the boring werewolf that almost nobody logged
- the gameplay was incredibly fun, being able to solo run somewhere and target snubs and caps well was just entertaining, especially as a 3rd party. And these balanced SHFs were by no means abused or anything, or overpowered for that matter, I mean just look at the Plier stats before and after.

People just saw that SHF=Spatial, and the fun hybrid class kicked it altogether sadly. But I guess I was the only person that noticed because I flew gallic factionss that didn't have access to Spatial and Co

probably after Me, Christensen and Meph killed Kalhmeras Osiris in the osc shuttles, I think that's when it got the hard nerf into the ground

infinite firepower forward with the ability to regen an infinite amount of times while having access to infinite reverse speed was totally fair and totally not abuseable by anyone that plays freelancer with more than 1 finger on their keyboard, how could you nerf them??????????????????????

No offense to the OP, but they should have just divided them up between bombers and freighters, and elminated SHF's. The Spatial and Arrastra for instance, to me should just be freighters. But many are more like bombers, they could just make for another heavy bomber option.

SHFs had to be nerfed sooner or later. It's okeh. But honestly, it would really be nice if you give them back the ability to use bomber heavy weapons (heavy, not special). Hellfire Pods were damn good on SHFs, which cannot be said about bombers, eh.

By the way guys - check community events - this Saturday the BD+Maquis vs knf/ksp/koi allows in up to 3 shf per side it seems

First time to check how balanced they really are in snub balls Smile
