ENTRY #01 - First Time!

Beginning Encrypted Feed...

I decided to start this personal diary to record my experiences out in space

Heyo future me, I finally did it, after working my heck sore for three years stuck in this office job, I've finally earned enough and made up my mind - It is time to voyage through space.

Old paps seemed worried about me, but after some thinking and to graduate me for my hard work over the years he finally handed me the keys over for his old service ship... a CTE 750AE 'Starflier'... yeah, how did father survived in this thing?! Better than nothing I can say, unbelievable that this thirty year old shuttle is still intact, well it will be good for now, but I think it is time to look out for new jobs in space, heard payment can be much better there.

My old home Planet Denver is surely beautiful with its mountain ranges and lakes, but the metropolitan lifestyle and skylines of Manhattan... holy no comparison. I'm out of words for this, the whole city is so huge with layer over layer, light sign next to life sign and thousands of ships and shuttles all wandering en masse... I was rarely out of good old Colorado, luckily if you're born here the Xenos don't bat an eye for you... they laughed at my shuttle... guess need to get used to that. Else piracy is luckily not that often here.

New York however... holy so many people gather here and it is pretty dangerous too, much more of the Rogue punks, Outcast gringos and other types of rats lurking on the lanes, luckily I'm not that of a big catch in their eyes. I looked around if there is something to do, heck yet alone stargazing around fascinates me, sadly this old rust arbor doesn't allow me big jumps, guess I will be stuck here for a while.

After a while sitting at the Manhattan Orbital Grid as they call it I found two people, one miss being some transport captain for OS&C's logistics group and one mister belonging to a group called "The Pathfinders". Never heard of them before they seem to be explorers, luckily my blackbox on the ship records audio logs, can upload them to my diary entries too for the records, hehe~

Anyway, the mister named Horatio Fairchild and I had some interesting chat, after inquiring how you do jobs out here and where to go he adressed me quite some people to look for and try my luck asking convoys for escorts, though it will be with my ship inter-house routes, if anyone takes me serious at all... It was a good talk the man seemed to have lots of experience and has seen a lot of places, he flew a transport... well time to look out for a job and I was lucky. Seems there was indeed a USI transport supplying one of the many Freeports, he accepted my little job offering and I escorted him all the way to Galileo.

Never been in the Ind. Worlds before, this place seemed really gloomy with no soul in sight, with taking a lane then however we arrived quickly the spot, indeed a Freeport... number 12. Heard only rumors of freeports before. A place where all types of people gather and you also can get all types of things for a prize, seems.... adventurous, I keep better a low profile, luckily I'm not far from home... in the end it was really worth the flight as my fuel reserves almost got depleted, because of this crappy shuttle had to stay here overnight.

The captain paid me generousely, a whole 5 million credits. Paps was right all along, space gives the riches, worked for so long on Denver to earn this shuttle and this captain just gives me that many... Then later at the pub, someone told me rumors of some ship vendor on another freeport selling used ships, among these ships offered there is also the one I saw in a magazine that I really find cool. Well my first days in space is surely something, my goal for now will be jobbing I guess to get to the new ship, as I eel not very safe in this old shuttle, sorry paps.

Wondering now what future beholds me, how many people I will meet on my adventures and what cool places there are to see and things to learn... can't wait!
