cannot delete equipment on ships that are replaced without a playerwipe... so everything else stays the same. - but in RP...
BHG s use the gunship to hunt bombers / fighters and the orca to hunt capital ships. - and its a RP server:)
Quote:Your argument is a load of crap because you failed to take into account the fact that mostly every ship's role is changing.
4.85 isn't just going to be changing gunboats, everything from Light Figthers to Bombers to Gunboats to Battleships are getting changed.
As you can see from Jinx's statement my argument is not a load of crap. Yes in 4.85 there are going to be changes, but the GS's role will not realy change. It's till used for killing bombers and fighters. Yes we will have flack guns that the Large cap ships will used to punish Fighters and Bombers that get to close, but they can stay out fo those gun's ranges and still defeat a BS. So you bringing the GS to deal with them to protect your Caps.
I have a question more or less related to this thread. Jinx mentioned the changes being automatically installed. That`s good; it prevents people clinging to their old "superior" versions of ships. My question is this: will the BHG BS change automatically as well? Or is it not updated in 4.85? I`ve heard both yes and no so I`d like to know.:)
No thanks. The gunship is being changed anyway, so either: become more skilled or fight people with a lower skill level.
Edit: Alternatively, why don't you ask one of the experienced Corsair players on these forums for a quick flying lesson? They might teach you some tricks regarding the ol'Lunchbox that you may not know.
Edit 2: On that note, I need to get some lessons in my ships heh.

I have, and like I said if you follow me, for this ship, it has nothing to do with skill.
Don't deny you're having it quite easy now, so mentioning skill to someone else isn't worth much here.
I do this experiement every time I see one to report:
In a straight line fight, under full gunboat firepower, the Gunship should die FAST. *PERIOD*
' Wrote:What else would you like changed because you can't fly a m26?
Why have the Gunboats class to begin with if Gunships can tank in just as much firepower?
(If not more considering agility...)
Im considering going BH for a while before 4.85 happens and then screaming on the forums about changes to the Gunship, and many would agree with on this one then...yea...
If you wish to perform some tests, you should first get a friend and have a stationary M26 vs a stationary Gunship. Then, introduce jousting into the situation - so you can see how the Gunship attempts to dodge on its approach. Then learn where and how the gunship dodges too, and adjust your tactics accordingly.
I'm sure a M26 whoops a Gunship when both are stationary. When both are moving towards each other, the M26 still should win, provided you hit with your superior firepower.
Edit: A note, a whole lot of corsairs complaining about the Gunship is not going to achieve anything. In fact, the development team has probably balanced the ship for 4.85 anyway. So, in the mean time, you should improve your own flying skills in preparation for the new ships. Time spent complaining about a particular ship could be used to train against the ship (and others).
