Rick launched from Trafalgar making his way south he flicked on autopilot and began sorting through CNS Broadcasts. You've missed a fair bit, admittedly I have too, I personally have been working on a pet project deep in the Omegas that had me well out of the loop of current affairs. It was only when I returned recently that I saw what has been happening and realized maybe you'd be interested. From the Kusari Invasion of Gallia to the return of the Monarchy in Gallia.
As he continued the flight they began picking up Large signatures at the end of the field, several Salvage frigates and a few Pilgrim Liners were busy detaching themselves from a Renzu Liner that Rick was sure Victor would assume was stolen.
There she is, the finest ship money can buy. Not my favorite way to travel but when you have a guest it always is best to bring out the finest fineries. Alright, let me get us on a docking course.
He reached up and typed a password into a panel before pushing the controls forward into the console initiating the auto docking sequence
Arbiter Tiltman, we have been expecting you, no trouble on your way here I hope?
Thankfully none, is she ready for departure?
Yes sir, all checks are complete and Rugen has been alerted to our approach we should be there in no time.
At this point Victor looked quite puzzled, He expected such, given that this planet on the fringes of known space shared a name with a completely uninteresting station that was little more then a emergency fuel stop for a ship of this size.
Roger that, we'll be in the Conference Hall if you need us.
With that Tiltman, flicked off the comms and sat back in his seat:
All of you? Really? You couldn't have left that stick-in-the-mud Admiral back in Rheinland could you? Also, how do you feel about Deserts?
He cocked an eyebrow at Tiltman. I've just spent the last two years on New Berlin, hot dry deserts don't appeal...why? I would, if possible, like to avoid being taken to one....although judging by the fact we are docking and you aren't aborting the procedure, I assume I don't actually have a say in the matter.
As lighthearted had he could make the situation, he knew Tiltman too well, and this was largely out of character for him. Something must have him excited...or spooked or a bit of both. Either way, he didn't have a say and so he went with it. Although he did have a great many questions about the Sector, they would have to wait.
Rick chuckled, the thought of spending more then a week on New Berlin was a miserable thought. If the weather didn't make you want to leave the people would. Many of the customs of Rheinland, especially the hardier stock of New Berlin, could often be abrasive to outsiders who were not explicitly ready for it. A product of their environment he assumed and moved on. They walked across the hangar bay to an elevator situated near the back of the room. There a woman with long tightly braided hair waited for them, .
"Arbiter, we have finished all preparations for your journey."She handed Victor a keycard."Further we have completed preparations for your guest as well."
"Excellent, thank you Roxy I can always trust you to keep this place running tight when I am not around. Get yourself a drink on my tonight."
With the flick of a finger he transferred credits into her account before he and Victor boarded the elevator. As the elevator hummed upwards Rick began to speak:
"Some might call it hedging my bets, some might say I am crazy, some have said I am crazy. Regardless the facts stand, Sirius is getting dangerous and in times like these only two types walk away: The Smart and The Strong."
The elevator dinged as they reached their final destination. Stepping out of the elevator into the center of a large circular room with a massive domed skylight arching overhead giving an incredible view of space. The room, easily 50 meters in diameter, was lined with bookshelves, interspacing the shelves were pieces of fine art below which on smaller tables sat ornate works of craftsmanship from across Sirius. From some hidden speakers music played. This place stood in stark contrast to the dark greasy veneer that showed out to the rest of the galaxy.
As Tiltman guided Steiner across the hall to a large set of oak doors upon which was the congressional Seal inlaid with gold beyond which was a smaller room with a similar layout, albeit considerably smaller, within was a large septagonal table with a digital map of Sirius and Gallia rendered above it's center. The table was fairly non-descript, large wooden, and likely very expensive. The chairs around it were a different story, each sporting the customizations of it's owner. On each face sat 7 chairs, each emblazoned with the the seals of each of The Great Houses. One however, stood out above the rest. a large ornate wooden chair with the congressional seal emblazoned within wood carvings on it's back.
"Welcome, to the Congressional Chambers" He gestured around the room.
"From here, I can personally oversee all Junker activities anywhere in the sector. From here, I can see and hear almost anything that happens on a Junker base. Now please take a seat,"
He motioned for Victor to take a seat at the table before sitting in the large wooden chair himself and bringing up a keypad, hurriedly tapping way at it
"We have much to discuss, and not a whole lot of time in which to do so"
As he said this the map of The Sector over the table began zooming in on the Omegas.
Despite the grand halls and the cleanliness of this ship the Junkers had in their possession, Steiner still felt as though he needed a shower after being on Trafalgar. Odd that they would be so resourceful and yet possess a degree of taste. He was sure to hide his surprise with a face of relief. Knowing full well that Tiltman was showing off, he simply looked at the man and said And yet we have time to be travelling everywere without ever arriving. If we are in a hurry Rick...then hurry Perhaps that would get the Junker moving.
He looked around at the room, modern, but still practical. The room didn't show any signs of being tampered with, rather it looked as though this ship had been brought with the specific intention of being left as it was. Probably to entertain certain guests or people the Junkers actually wanted to do business with. In a way that made him glad, at least Rick liked him enough to bring him aboard, even if he was showing off.
