Greetings, Technocracy. It has been some time since contact has been made between our groups. How fares your organisation at this time? I'm sure things have been eventful, as it has been for the Starfliers over the last few weeks.
I am contacting you today due to a project I am working on. After your help sending over some of your scientific crew and your investment, I can say that it has not gone to waste. My project has a simple goal: creating a jump hole. The teams on board Starflier Base have been hard at work brainstorming and designing ways to artificially create a rift in space, and we have finally succeeded in doing so - only within a simulation.
I'll be brief in how we achieved this. We modified a Series IV Jump Drive to be remotely activated from our station. To make sure the rift stays open, we have paired a Stabilizer Ring with the Jump Drive, so both pieces will work together to accurately create a rift to a chosen destination system. If you would like to see the details for yourself, feel free to land and head towards the research and development wing.
There is only one part of my project that we will need assistance with. Do reciprocate a response if you're interested in seeing this to the end.
All is well, for now. Beyond the inevitable political strifes, not much has gone on beyond our various studies. Although, sadly, there is some terrible news to bare, that of which that we are lacking our Scientific Head in the Directorate. For now, we are undergoing some ... changes. For now, in their place, I will be temporarily handling directions.

So, you wish to create a jumphole, hm? We have some ... hit and miss experiences with such. Primarily hits so far. Stabilization methods have always been erratic. Or at least, it appeared that way until we were enlightened to hyperspatial interaction with dark matter with assistance from our Gammu brethren.
Now, with that in mind, you must be wary of your placements, and your tools. Jump Drives - at least these models commonly found on "high end" vessels, are actually detrimental to how they interact with space. Everytime a Jump Drive is utilized, a tear can be left behind within space, leaving a wound, rather than springboarding to your next destination. This is why you'll notice some Nomads becoming highly aggravated. Connections are most efficient when placed upon a stream of concentrated gravitational stellar streams.
With such primitive Jump Drive devices that Humanity has conceived, some ... unfortunate accidents can occur. Such as ones like these:
But we have long evolved our systems to be a bit more ... how one would say it? Eco-friendly? Quiet?
It is an amusing coincidence, you have piqued fascination across one of our main interests. To close jumpholes, stabilize, and create.
We will gladly assist, as you can assist us too. We have remaining theory left over from the defunct Cultists that appeared eight years ago. One can say that we have a little head start on this path.

If restructuring is something that needs doing, may I throw in my interest to being part of this scientific team? Some of your crew is already working with my own teams on Starflier Base. Having both the Starfliers and the Technocracy be on the same page sharing research and discoveries could benefit us, especially with this new project of mine. Though if I am honest, I do not believe I am near qualified to taking that position. Does not stop me from submitting my interest to work more closely with the Technocracy.
Looking at the registration of the NX-01, that particular Bustard has been in service well before Leon purchased it a year ago. Within this last year, that vessel has gathered 859 petabytes worth of rift information, spanning from system layouts and orbital paths to gravitational disturbances created by jumpholes and anomalies. Considering we use what you call primitive devices, naturally we'd like to take a step further and try to create a travel point for ourselves. Fortunately, so far, we have not had the... pleasure...? of encountering the Nomads due to a jumping accident. Despite the NX-01 having faults with it's drive early on, we have had great success in not ending up in the middle of a cosmic wilderness, or inside a Nomad infested system.
I have not seen or heard of these Stellar Streams before, it may be of my best interest to meet with either you or your scientific team at a place of your choosing to discuss further steps of my project. If you have any further information relating to creating rifts, send it over and I will read as much as I can while a passenger transport brings me over. I will gladly assist you.
I have overheard the exploits of the exchange teams and how they had the pleasure of obtaining a preliminary understanding of interaction between rifts and the local hypercharged dark matter energies.
Although, it is very interesting to hear you mention that you have not had any trouble from the Nomads. Not even the other brood has disturbed you? Very peculiar. The other brood in particular are very attuned to these networks, the noise the generators produce - the loud wave they leave - annoys them greatly.

A good head start. Thankfully, we have our own data that I am able to bring along. Fill in the gaps.
A variant of the already existing Nomadic forces? I'm no extra-terrestrial researcher, but that sounds like unfortunate news. Leon or Halpert may have encountered them, I am too focused on my work within the walls of Starflier Base. But I digress.
As my schedule rarely gives me any free time, I'll leave the location to you, as you prefer to have it on Technocracy grounds. Once that is arranged, I will contact you further about the time and day.
We have previously discussed upon these gateway entries, and the subsequent evacuation of Kepler.
You have mentioned that the Corsairs have dabbled into the sciences. Riveting. Please indulge me more upon this topic.
In the meanwhile, amenities for setting up these "anomaly stabilizers" are undergoing. There is a task that we may need your assistance on. It entails adventuring around Sirius, and the great beyond.
Preparations have been organised on our side in terms of evacuation. Organisations around the western Omegas, including within Cambridge have offered us haven from Kepler until we can sort out what the Starfliers can do about our base. Since it resides in the middle of the storm, despite being close to Ames, over time it has become less and less ideal for us to continue operations there.
From our internal communications, it was Halpert that first initiated contact with the Deterrence Corsairs about the use of the Corvo-Class explorer. Re-reading the transcript of their conversation, it is essentially a tutorial on how to extract information from the Baxter-Type anomalies spawning around Sirius. This is what lead to Leon approving the purchase of our own Corvo-Class vessel, the one you saw in Languedoc. My knowledge of Deterrence's science wing is limited otherwise.
The great beyond? Sounds like something we can do. Before we go on further, would this task be greater completed by the Arcturus, or the NX-01?
I am not intimately familiar with your equipment, at the moment.
What we intend to do is to set up a jump network - that will have to bypass the dark matter storms that act as a barrier for these "hyperspatial slingshots". Dark Matter is a catalyst for disaster with hyperspatial entry points.
We will need to map the stellar formations nearby to analyse an optimal pathway for this tunnel to carve through. A deep space expedition.
In addition, we need surveying done by Elgin and by Gammu. This is where we will be building those "stabilizers" we mentioned about.
We are undergoing several evacuations at the moment, but, are you able to assist us in regards to making these stabilizers /and/ the route planning?
Leon has been contacted, he is on board. As for myself, I will finish up my work in Omicron Lost and prepare my teams. We will meet you soon to assist with constructing the stabilizers and plotting the hyperspace route.
