Some questions about Capitol ships

Me noob... have not been ingame yet. want some clarity on some stuff before I install this mod. (and get banned for flying the wrong beast).

What is a cap Whore?

Are only faction leaders allowed to fly Capitol Ships?

Why is this community so reactive to independent players?


I am a faction fan myself. I generally fly the ship that suits the RP of the faction but sure would like to experience some of the behemoths this mod avertises!

According to your rules, flying a capship only requires a license and the non abuse of the Capitols' purpose.

I agree that a pirate or bounty hunter with a capitol ship is crazy.. very unbalanced and all that.

Those are pretty broad assumptions to make, based on, as you say yourself, zero time in game. You anticipate flames? Why? Maybe play the game some and not judge it by the forums. Some people use these forums to hack away at their own personal vendettas and air grievances best kept to themselves and occasionally to bully, be-little and instil hate, prejudice and fear.

If you could make these gerneralisations, you've probably browsed the forums. Might be an idea to read them in more detail next time, as these subjects have been discussed again and again.

I'll take the one about the community being "reactive" to independents. The question is posed in such a way as to make it seem like a truthful assumption. Everyone on the server is an independent. I would say we interdependent.

Genreally speaking, this is one who buys a capital ship and plans on only killing other players with it, not rp'ing with it. This is widely frowned upon by the community

No. Technically speaking, anyone with the proper ID can fly a cap ship within the id's zone of influence (where the npc's of that id are found).
It is highly recommended (some would say required) to have a rp story on these forums to show that you know how to rp properly with that class ship.

Why is this community so reactive to independent players?

Can we say loaded question. Simply put, most recent sitautions between independents and factions have been aimed at incresing the rp value of the independent players. There have been a lot of bad pr-ers here lately, and the community is doing all it can to make this situation better.

First off, and this is probably a shared opinion of the community - THANK YOU FOR ASKING QUESTIONS FIRST rather than showing up in game and looking retarted, breaking rules, and earning a bad rep.

I have been told that if you need any help with rp questions, any [The_Angels] character can help you in forum or in game, along with almost any other player. just be sure to ask nicely in private comms reather than public chat for help if you can.

If you've haven't been in game yet, then hold out on getting a cap.

I've been in game since 17-March 08, the biggest ship I got is a GB and I;m happy.

Also Cap ships have the handling of the Titanic.....

That is hardly the case... the only real faction is the RM.

Outcasts have a registry but its so simple to go there register the ship.. why not?

You only need the battleship license for the Dreadnaughts, the Battleships and the Liberty Carrier (think that's it).

Battlecruisers count as cruisers, so do Destroyers and Light cruisers. Good luck with your purchase in game.
