Dear Sailas, Aspen, Karl, and Genda,

I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for the incredible support you provided me during the Recovery and Research Expedition. Your willingness to come out in person and assist me on location was nothing short of amazing, and I cannot thank you enough for going above and beyond to help me achieve my goals.

Your expertise and dedication were invaluable in ensuring the success of the expedition, and I truly appreciate the time and effort you put into making it a reality. Your insights, suggestions, and hard work made all the difference, and I am so grateful for your contributions.

I also wanted to take this opportunity to apologize to Aspen for the unfortunate incident with his ship. I am deeply sorry for any inconvenience or damage caused, and I want to assure you that I will work with management to help pay for a new one. Please let me know if there is anything else I can do to make things right.

With the valuable knowledge we gained from this expedition, I am confident that it will be of great benefit to the Consortium. Your support and expertise have enabled us to make significant progress, and I am excited to see how we can leverage these findings for the benefit of our organization.

Please note that further review of the collected data is ongoing, and a more exhaustive report will be made available soon. We are committed to sharing our findings and ensuring that the entire Consortium benefits from the knowledge and insights gained during this expedition.

Once again, thank you so much for your support and for being such an integral part of the Recovery and Research Expedition. I could not have done it without you, and I feel incredibly lucky to have such amazing colleagues and friends. I hope we can continue to work together in the future and achieve even greater things together.

With heartfelt thanks and appreciation,

--Dr. Brandon Wright

My fellow colleagues,

This flight log is an excellent example of how interactions with individuals in Gallia, especially those from the Corse, can turn hostile quickly. It is essential to know local regulations and customs before engaging in conversation, as ignorance could lead to an altercation.

Therefore, it is advisable for fellow explorers to exercise caution when engaging with the locals in Gallia, especially those from the Corse, to avoid any misunderstandings that could lead to a confrontation.

The research vessel 'Norant' has officially been towed to an anchor point near the jump hole. Unstable as it was it was certainly stable enough to withstand the jumping of a Bustard-class, two Corvo-classes, and snubcraft accompanying. There's no reason to doubt that it would also be capable of supporting our erstwhile guests coming through, if they so desired. I've had it stripped of turrets, removed the anomaly scanner, and expanded the hold courtesy of Freeport 10. It has a robotic crew of ten and has nothing but sensors and communications equipment. It will send a ping every solar cycle to Ikarus for monitoring purposes or unless it detects a jump it does not and can not identify.

I've acquired, taken, a suit of powered armor as was requested of us, sorry for being late to the message. I was stuck in another system after all. I've also done the favor of dispersing the crew and scientists that were once aboard the Norant into SLRC ranks. They'll be helpful, I'm sure. Hardy explorers and innovaters all. As for myself I'm heading off to find a new ship. I'll be using a Dagger for now as it'll keep me out of trouble and let me run away if I need to.

I just need to learn how to fly really fast.

Howdy,

This'd mark my first real report since my poor Spatial got blown to bits. That's fun. I still miss it a lot, especially since I'd planned to put it through more tune-ups. The Plover's at least pretty roomy.

So what have I been doing? Well, after all the unpleasantness we went and suffered through after our ill-advised idea in Zurich, I went to follow up on a few interesting leads I'd been scooping up for a while from various folks. Most ended up about as true as you'd expect spacer scuttlebutt to be, though there's still an old one I'd like to follow up on regardin' Newcastle sometime now that I'm a bit less green: I'll keep you posted there.

Following one of the more dangerous rumors recently took me to the Dallas Incident gate site in Texas - we all learned about this in school 'course, but seeing the remains up close is something else. The place is hollow, forlorn. So much wreckage worn away by time, frozen memories.

It's been many years but, it might still be worth exploring the ruins of the Research Liner or Dallas Station itself, bein' that it was once the sector's capital of hyperspatial research. Considering what we'd been through, I guess I was feelin' crazy enough to get a close look.

And yes, I'm willing to admit I have a little trouble learnin' my lesson.

The area is intensely irradiated, and the dark matter likely precludes EVA to the ruined station - too dangerous. We'd need specialized HAZMAT and safe boarding equipment if we wanted to poke around inside, though we'd have to be very careful. Not reaaally an expert, but I doubt the superstructure is gonna be all that stable after soaking in the dark matter for so long.

Then again, looking over what's left of the Hubble... I don't want that to be us someday. Not something we should consider trying out lightly. Probably not at all.

PS: Deep space science mission, really? I thought Monty was visiting family! But then I was told he was seen around the Sigmas, but his sparse messages on the internal Net are comin' through a Dublin relay. And you all remember how shook up he was? Something's up...

Howdy all,

I've had occasion to finally get myself out to the lower Omicrons, accompanying a friend for business reasons. Since they expect to be in the area for a little while, I've taken the opportunity to look around in earnest and perform up-to-date reconnaissance of the systems adjoining Delta, as well as Delta itself.

The scale of some of the alien constructions out here, they're massive. Laying eyes on them, it leaves me marveling at the sort of organizational and societal structure it would have taken to orchestrate building megastructures on this scale. A particular structure in the Palau cloud in Delta dwarfs even The Ring over New Berlin. It's all so new to me!

In addition, I'd located what appeared to be another unstable anomalous breach in the Tokelau cloud. Several other ships appear to have already been caught in it's wake - no life signs. That was a clear enough sign for me to stay the heck away, notwithstanding what else we know. At each of these various locations, I deployed some passive scanner buoys to keep an eye on things and check for any updates. Unsure how long they'll last before radiation takes 'em, though, they're not purpose-built.

I'll let you know if I receive any interesting readings. The Plover is sadly deficient in the active scanner department.

Subject: Artificial Encounter

Encryption Strength:Impossible

Hello fellow Starlights,

My apologies for disappearing again, I've noticed a growing pattern of that as of late. For a week I've been embedded, figuratively not literally, within an Artificial Intelligence "hive" ship attempting to gather prominent information and technologies that we could make use of. For the moment I've been treated quite well, if oddly, by the unit who's construct I've been interacting with for the past week. Of course as they don't require air, sustenance, or hygeine for that matter I've had to make frequent trips to and fro to ensure I don't simply lose track of myself and wither away. Negotiating with the Livadians wasn't too much of an issue, having given me modest living quarters in return for whatever assistance I can render due to my frontier expertise. I digress though.

A week ago I encountered two ships belonging to the Artificial Intelligence consensus, I've included their nomenclatures in the secure files I'm sending over into our secured database. Footage, logs, communications; everything. I can't risk saying more even over our own supposedly encrypted communications or I'll break the agreement I made with the local unit. Once this message sends I'll be finishing of some final scans of the planet. There's a lot to sift through and a lot more to do to make any of it practical for our own use.

For now fair winds and take care.

I've zagged into active comms range to give an update on my research project and well being.

Things are going well out here beyond the rim. I still have a couple of months yet until I require a restock of necessities but I will say that I miss the interactions I have with you all. I hope things are going well back in Tau-23 and in Sirius at large. One of my research projects is nearing completion but my secondary one will take a bit more time to fully wrap up. I'll let you all in on the specifics as soon as I have concrete data to share. Right now they are only theories and I don't want to waste your time with "what-if's" and "what-could-be's".

I hope things are well. And Dr. Wright, hands off my Scotch. I know you've been eyeing it.

Subject: Expedition Volunteers Requested

Encryption Strength: Impossible

My fellow colleagues,

I am writing to you today to ask for your help in a very important matter. Five years ago, a small expedition went to Planet Pygar, before the major colonization attempt, and had started tracing a route deeper than anyone had gone before in the caverns. Eventually reporting in that a base camp had been established at -3,500 meters. After that report of the newly established camp the expedition went silent. A few attempts were made to establish contact, however the limited nature of the planet at the time lead to the expedition being given up as lost.

I recently received access to some older data banks. This data bank has provided an indication that a "suitcase" Ingenuus Power Core was used on an expedition to the core of Planet Pygar. While I haven't been able to confirm this entirely I am still very hopeful that this core still exists, likely being the smallest one McCool ever produced. As such I'm looking for volunteers to join me to retrace the lost expeditions steps to see what happened to them, and the Power Core.

I know this is a dangerous mission, but I believe it is an important one. The Ingenuus Power Core is a valuable piece of technology, and if it still exists, it could be used to power new technologies that could benefit all of humanity. I also believe that the lost expedition may have valuable information about Planet Pygar that could help us understand the planet and its potential for additional colonization.

I am looking for experienced researchers who are willing to take on this dangerous mission. You will need to be in good physical condition and have experience with exploration in general. You will also need to be prepared to face the dangers of the unknown.

If you are interested in joining this mission, please contact me directly. I will be holding interviews in the next few weeks to select the team.
