Then you end up with good, tough capital ships for extended capital to capital battles and RP, a use for fighters (keeping those bomber formations off the caps), a use for bombers (in reasonable numbers instead of 1-2), and less people whoring capital ships except to fight other capital ships, simply because they can't do anything in them except really fight other capital ships.

Obviously it'd all need to be ironed out and stuff, but I think that might work.

not missin the point here. I just think that adding extra firepower is unnecessary while the community still has problems with properly using the existing ones.

Kuraine's idea is good, and if they were to be some kind of special flagship (not allowed to leave their nation system, for example Liberty) Giving a Flagship armor upgrade would be good.

Making capships anti-capship only would work. Refire halved and perhaps weapon speed reduce on some weapons, and it's perfect. If dodging fighters could ignore capship fire on them while fighting off other fighters, it would make the entire capships vs fighters thing obsolete, which would be awesome. It would also create even more need for caps to have fighter support.

In short, signed. Awesome idea.

Not a bad idea, but I can see where the others are coming from, this only widens the gap between the casual player, and factions. I joined WoW, was forced to join a raiding faction at 60 (before BC XPac) just so I could get good gear.

I'm going to say not a good idea, but not a bad one either. Kind of in an idea "funk"

One for each faction I'm guessing?

I'd support an un-nerfing of caps. Perhaps a flagship based thing if the caps were universally available. As in unofficial factions and indies can have them as well.

the armor increase is good.... but remove the silly bomber 2 torp slot:Pbombers drop bombs dont they:D or just rename them to torpedo fighters .... capships need to be better fighters are good as they are capships well um yeah IMO they need to be better . what is a war without cap ships fighting? (im not refering to real life) .. Battleships show dominance a big navy has big and alot of battleships *Rheinland* and yeah while im being crazy atm make a neutral shield good vs nothing bad vs nothing just average to all shields die to fast IMO well yeh you never cant guess what types of weapons ur enemy has... or you need to have all shields like 1 for liberty 1 for tau's 1 for reinland etc etc....

Mmm.. I like Kuraine's Idea. Combine that with the heavily anti-fighter/bomber gunboat I've been an advocate of, and things will make a lot more sense around here.
