Hope your comrades just left for home, and are not gone forever.

Shit, I didn't even think of that. I assumed they left for home. That wound hurts more than most physical injuries Sad

It ain't about what you are capable of, it's about what you're willing to do.

Hi guys.

Well I'm back in the UK now away from that shitfest. Got back yesterday afternoon. No lasting physical injuries thankfully. I got really luck with that one. I've read all the kind words you've left me in this thread and it really warms my heart from all the support you guys have given me. Unfortunately it was just me who returned. My three mates I went out with were all killed in action however being completely honest we all understood and expected it to be a one way trip. I used to think that survivors guilt was a myth but I have certainly felt it. It is what it is. Taking today and maybe tomorrow to sort myself out then I'm gonna to be spending a lot of time with my friends and family in the coming weeks. It'll be nice to catch up with them all. Again, thank you for the support. It really ment a lot.

Wow, I am glad you made it back, and I wish you get all the mental support you need from your family and loved ones. Glory to your mates' memory!

Welcome back.

Happy that you made it safely.

Hopefully your Family and friends will know not to question you and let you speak of things when you are good and ready.

It may take weeks, months, years or even something you may never want to open up to.

Just take it easy and spend it with your loved ones.

Connor, I'm glad you're back safe, man! Take your time, surely you have lots of stuff planned with your family.

Sadly, we can't choose how events play out. The famous Einstein once claimed that "God does not play dice with the Universe". That theory, as far as I know, is still not proven, and sometimes it seems that quite the opposite is true.

You and your mates did the right thing. The proper way to honor them is to live your life to your fullest potential. Focus on the things you can still change, there's a whole life ahead of you, makes no sense to waste it reminiscing about the things that you can't do anything about anymore.

I can only imagine you've been through hell and beyond, glad to hear you're alive. If I can help in any way it'd be to tell you to look for professional therapy regarding survivor's guilt and potential PTSD. It's not a joke, even if the symptoms aren't too noticeable at the moment. Welcome back.

Glad to hear that you made it home in one piece, at least physically. I am sorry to hear about your friends, if you need to talk about anything at all, my DMs are open.
