Vice Admiral Maria Uhmen
LNW-NID-O-2

ESRD Directorate,

I am Vice Admiral Maria Uhmen of the Forty-Sixth Fleet, flag officer aboard the LNX-Akhetaten and commanding officer of Task Force Akhetaten. I am reaching out to you today in accordance with the events that took place in the newly discovered systems past the Alaska Supergate and with further coordination between our fleets in mind.

It is no secret to anyone that we do not know what we found out there, and I highly doubt that we even scratched the surface during our lengthy expedition. Whatever is waiting on the other side, however, now has a direct way into our backdoor and I am not too keen on letting that slide without knowing -exactly- what we are dealing with. For that reason, the LNX-Akhetaten's first officially assigned operation after her commission will be to fully chart this new system we found along with all it's connections, however many those may be. As we speak, the A-0 is spending time in Norfolk's drydocks getting prepared for whatever may await us in our expeditions out there; food, supplies, manpower. Readings from the jumpholes located on the outskirts of the newly discovered system indicated great instability and any further jumps for the A-0 through those jumpholes are rendered too dangerous. Thus, the warship cannot stray any further from the initially discovered system. That is where our escorts come into play.

It would be nice if the weight of the expeditions did not fall on our hands alone, however, and it is in the spirit of this that I contact you today.

I am seeking direct coordination with the First's ESRD division. As you may be well aware, the A-0 is a highly advanced prototype battlecruiser that is the culmination of decades of military research and development, capable of operating fully independently within hostile environments for an extended period of time. With top-of-the-line sensor suite, top speeds that the Overlord-class dreadnought could never hope to achieve, firepower that surpasses the capabilities of the Interdictor and is comparable to a dreadnought's, and stealth systems more sophisticated than anything else in Liberty's arsenal, she's a perfect candidate for such operations.

I am willing to provide the LNX-Akhetaten as a forward base of operations in the newly discovered system. ESRD assets will be granted permission to dock with the A-0, refuel and resupply at their own convenience. The A-0 will serve as a mobile base for those assets, providing them with safe refuge should they return from the deeper expeditions in the systems that are unreachable by her. During these joint operations, any intelligence and materials that were acquired will be brought back to the A-0 for safe storage until our return back into Liberty space where they will be analyzed and evaluated by our personnel.

That is merely my proposal, Directorate, it doesn't have to be final nor does it have to be exactly as I described above. I will appreciate any input you have to provide regarding the above; whether you disagree or have anything to add to the aforementioned, or even if you fully agree to everything.

I shall await to hear from you.

With all due respect.

The External Security & Research Division is most interested in further exploration of the newfound systems beyond Alaska. This new discovery poses a plethora of questions and possible threats, to the Republic, and what little we could salvage in terms of information during the recent expedition really doesn't bode well. It's imperative that we learn more about what's present in these systems.

We will eagerly take part in any further scientific and reconnaissance missions of these systems and their resources, with the goal of threat analysis, mapping, and potentially, the development of tools with which to protect the Republic.

However, should we make our assets available for combined force missions, we would also like to stipulate mutual sharing of any worthwhile discoveries, be they resources, technologies, or other relevant findings.

The External Security & Research Division, eventually, would seek to move viable recovered technologies and materials into secure storage and research labs at 23912121184 upon returning to Libertonian Space. Of course, we would be willing to provide specific cleared personnel from Task Force Akhetaten, and 5th Fleet R&D, with access to our facilities for informational, research, and development purposes related to any materials and discoveries made during our combined operations.

Admiral Baker,

The Forty Sixth, Fifth along with the First - lead by the Akhetaten - have already completed a number of expeditions out in the newly discovered systems. Our science teams aboard the A-0 in direct coordination with other teams that are studying these new sectors have chosen to refer to the newly discovered network system as Earhart. We've observed odd phenomena taking place in that system, including a seemingly random generation of anomalies that lead into seemingly random systems deeper in the cluster of uncharted space or into seemingly random systems that lead back into Sirius sector. Our teams have tried making a connection between the appearing anomalies so far and there has been no progress done in the matter.

Access to those anomalies is granted by the numerous structures that are surrounding the Earhart system. A random combination of them appear to be active each time we enter the system. It should also be noted that the point of entry into the system is not the same for every ship coming through.

We so far have under our possession a considerable amount of unknown materials that we have claimed from the system cluster. While our science teams are studying them aboard designated research vessels - and aboard the A-0 - it would be of great help to our joint endeavours if the ESRD sped up the process of dedicating space for the storage and examining of those resources.

That will be all for now, Admiral.
