Totally agree on the missile part.

The missiles now simply are no fun for the person being missiled.

I know the devs balance stuff, but that is often done on paper and with testing in very small fights / duels.

Try being on the receiving end of 3-4 fully missile kited battleships / battlecruisers. In the previous meta, a good cruiser / BC player could just kite and stay slightly out of range. He couldn't do much damage-wise but it was a good tactic that would enable other teammates to focus on the flanks of the pursuers.

Now the kiting ship just gets mauled to death by the lack of thruster energy / CM ammo / unreliable flaks that ask for near-perfect timing to stop the incoming missiles. Not to mention the refire rates on the flaks and CMs are still bad when there is an incoming missile alert every 10 seconds.

And why the hell half the missiles can't be CD-ed anymore ? You removed the option for teammates to help the target of enemy's missiles, why ?

you forgot an important variable: efficiency. missiles are more efficient than any gun out there. DPS of guns is limited by the powercore: a marauder deals 140k damage each 10 seconds, which translates to 14k dps. a tachyon has 13.5k dps. a storm cannon, 15k.

about the new approach and loadout viability, those are Haste's words, not mine. however, I'm open to the idea of a low refire missile. convincing haste it's a good idea is the challenge. I can thinker with numbers until I get a viable, fair missile. that's easy.

during testing it was made clear that missiles scaled very poorly on group fights. you would only need a single fighter with CDs to effectively disable the enemy team's missile weapons. what you can do now is stay together, flak missiles or use prims to shoot them down.

Sure.
Blaster dps is similar to tachyon
Mauler dps is slightly less than Impacts, but it has more projectile speed.
Repeaters have worst dps but they have high projectile speed in cruiser heavies

But If you want it see, i will make a video no problem.

I don't buy that. The fighter only has 50 CDs at best, while the caps have upwards to 190 (or even more, not sure how they stack) each.

Sure, he can disable them for a headstart of the fight, but he'll run out sooner or later, while the caps probably won't.

Not to mention that if the enemy also has a snub that can apply pressure to the CD-er his work will become even less effective.

While there's more number tweaking going on with so many hotfixes, it's premature to comment on cap balance atm. However, the missile spam makes logging unfun.

Fun is ofcourse subjective and many might like the missile meta very much, i personally find them as much fun as getting your nuts getting punched by mike tyson.

dudes out here forgetting flak and countermeasures exist. hell, marauder and devastator missiles have so little HP (1440 hit points) you can just shoot them down with secondaries
(they resist 95% explosion damage so flaks themselves dont one shot them)
