The event has been streamlined further via existing tools, which should make both mining and refining much more profitable, with regular trading of platinum still being on the table! There is also less restrictions overall placed on purchase and sale points, so it's up to you to figure out your preferred route.

500k for a journey through a handful of Systems seems quite profitable, especially if you compare it to normal commodities.

Enjoy the extra credits while they are there.

As per the Present situation

Platinum Buying Price from Planet Denver, Colorado - 214$ per unit.
Platinum Selling Price to Bourg-en-Bresse Space Port, Burgundy - 324$ per unit. (Best Known Price)
Profit = 110$.
For a 5ker Transport :- 110 x 5000 = 550,000$

Iridium Buying Price from Nauru, Omicron Delta - 90$ per unit.
Iridium Selling Price to Foyle Shipyard, Dublin - 207$ per unit. (Best Known Price)
Profit = 117$.
For a 5ker Transport :- 117 x 5000 = 585,000$

Conclusion:- Don't bother buying planetside. Other routes better. Big Grin

That would be because Denver -> Burgundy is an awful choice, you're tacking extra travel time on your journey for no good reason. You want to go to Sprague from there. Use the Shikoku resellers to go to Gallia - it's quicker and higher CSU than any other HRCs.

Obviously PoBs can offer far better prices.

You can buy it 2 Systems nearer to Burgundy (Shikoku) at:
Fuchu Prison and Noshima Freeport, both for 210 credits a unit.

I don't use any third party tools, but I believe a round trip from Shikoku to Burgundy is faster than a round trip from Delta to Dublin.

Edit: It looks like Haste beat me to it.

324-210 = 114$. That's 570,000$ with a 5ker if you buy from NPC base. Very Underwhelming.

Yup. POB is the only option if I gotta take advantage of the event. Which might be difficult since I'm not sure where it is available and the increased pirate threat on the route becoz "event"..
So I guess I'll stick to the Gold-Iridium lmao. But thanks for the assistance Big Grin

Shikoku resellers dont sell it! i was there with my indie and cant buy any of them ! You take the profit from their pockets if you buy up their platinum so they dont sell it! They deliver it themselves!

Also why did you change the buy price for balance and not the sell price? With this you cut the profit from players that cant buy from pobs, but players that can buy from pobs have the same profit as befor!

Platinum was always sold at three places: Noshima Freeport, Tsukishima Liner Yards, and Planet Denver. We have replaced Tsukishima with Fuchu Prison for the event, and potentially for the foreseeable future.

As you point out, the purpose of bumping the base price and not just the sale price is to incentivize mining and refining in POBs. We want to see if people will take advantage of this, or just not bother. These events are to boost activity in the area and the resulting trade routes, but also to take a look at parts of the economy in relation to the whole.

There are multiple POBs in place able to refine platinum. Contact their owners to get in on the profits, or set up your own base to attempt to do the same. All we can do is provide incentives, but if people prefer to continue trading on their own, that's also possible - at a reduced profit margin.
