Here is a small tutorial that might help you:

1. Download Rivatuner here.
2. Install it and configure it like this. (The Freelancer exe can be found in the Discovery Folder - Exe - Freelancer.exe
3. Write yourself a .bat because you are not willing to start the Rivatuner on your own the whole time:
Code:
start "DS Launcher" "C:\Freelancer Discovery\Discovery Freelancer 4.91.0\DSLauncher.exe"
start "RTSS" "C:\Users\xxx\Desktop\Test\RivaTuner Statistics Server\RTSS.exe"
4. Give the .bat the disco launcher logo and enjoy Smile

oh ok, i'll try this as well. should i try this without the dll or with?

Try it with the .DLL first, if that doesn't fix your issue, go for Rivatuner.

huge. it works. thanks!
just a last question on rivatuner. there is the "global" settings also: does it mess with the other graphics settings? or it does nothing?

Global settings is on default not activated, so you can ignore it.

Did it worked with the .DLL now or was it Rivatuner?

RivaTuner is definitely what you should use.

I downloaded the DLL, the game runs smoother, but FPS approx. 60.
In the NVIDIA settings for Freelancer I set the maximum frame rate to 144, limit for my monitor, and I have about 144 FPS in the game.
No RivaTuner yet.

Get it and it's going to fix your issue, I'm sure of it.

I find myself musing about the original FL days, when 60+ fps would have been but a distant, unobtainable dream.
