Commander Evans, Lt.Cmdr Nelson, you've both been accepted to the R&D department. Report to Juneau for assignment, I'm currently deployed in the field and unable to meet you both in person right now. You'll receive your orders soon.
Name: Enzo Gagnon Rank: Lieutenant Motivation to join this subdivision: Researching and discovering new weapons, etc is such an interest for me. And I like to take on this job and use my time for that when liberty has no activity.
Name: Lucius Hopkins Rank: Lieutenant Motivation to join this subdivision: When helping my father working on ships at his garage I grew interested in the range of solutions and technologies to combat the same issues. Civillian ships be they, Kusari, Bretonian, Libertonian or some cobbled together freighter all had to achieve the same main goals. Safe and efficient transport of cargo. Though they all went about this in completely different ways.
Due to my work with my father when I was younger and previous postings during my time as a reservist I am familiar with a wide range of ship systems and their functions. I wish to build on this knowledge and hopefully offer new and innovative solutions to problems that face the fleet. Be they, administrative, logistical or in the field of combat.
I have also flown a range of Liberty Naval fighters ranging from the old Defender to the most modern Guardian and Avenger class vessels. I know how they work, I was trained to maintain them. I know how to fly them. I believe I can offer a unique viewpoint between that of a combat pilot and a fighter mechanic to help improve current models and possibly with help and training from fellow officers assist with the design of newer and better equipment. Be this in the area of defence, offence, crew survival or maintenance.
Name: Antoine Duhamel Rank: Lieutenant Motivation to join this subdivision: As a former civilian pilot, I have seen what Sirius has the best to offer — and the worst. I want to be part of the team within the Fleet that counteracts such threat to Liberty. If my naval training is not enough, I am willing to go through specific training if that is mandatory.
Name: Victoria Blake Rank: Commander Motivation to join this subdivision: After my short resignation, Rear admiral Nicole Prower asked me to report to her office. It took me a while before to fill an application to join the Research and Development, but I judged it was necessary to make this official.
I am not a genius in terms of technology but I can provide security and if necessary, experiment with the new equipment untested yet.
I am ready to follow any specific training in regards of what awaits if the application is accepted.

Greetings,
Commander Blake, after our discussion, I feel it fit to accept you into the ranks of the R&D department.
Now Commander Duhamel and Admiral Hopkins, despite being long over due, and.. for most intents and purposes already processed, this is a formality, but your applications are accepted.
Regards,
Rear Admiral Nicole Prower, Director of Research & Development
5th Fleet, Liberty Navy

Name: Valerie Collier Rank: Lieutenant Motivation to join this subdivision: As specified in previous conversations with Admiral Prower, I wish to pursue my education through Navy programs in a variety of fields, especially xenoarchaeology. I feel there is much I can bring to the table with my self-taught background and enthusiasm for the role. Additionally, I am open to other arrangements and opportunities during my service with R&D.
Name: Brian Smith Rank: Commodore Motivation to join this subdivision: We've all seen firsthand the impact of innovation on the battlefield. For example, the astonishing performance of the Akhetaten. That's the kind of progress I want to be a part of, not just on the receiving end.
While I may not have a background in pure science, I understand the crucial link between theoretical brilliance and real-world application. That's why I'm applying to join the R&D division. I believe my experience can be a valuable asset in two key areas.
Firstly, there's no substitute for practical testing. Who better to push these prototypes to their limits than someone who's been in the thick of it for nearly 6 years? Someone who understands the demands of the battlefield and can provide real-time feedback on a weapon's, ship's or gadget's effectiveness? I'm eager to undergo any necessary training to become a reliable field tester for your groundbreaking projects.
Secondly, security is paramount during field expeditions. These research missions often involve highly classified technology, and ensuring their safety is just as important as the research itself. My proven skills in in-space combat, safeguarding of valuable assets and proven track record would make me a valuable asset to your security detail. I'm confident that by joining your team, I can directly contribute to the effectiveness of our operations and ensure the safety of our personnel and technology.
The 5th Fleet thrives on innovation, and I want to contribute not just as a 'soldier', but as someone who helps shape the future of our technology.
