Io Tiberius Da Costa

Io Tiberius Da Costa is a legendary pilot and commander of the Apollo's Arrows squadron, known for her ruthlessness and skill. She gained fame as a pilot in the squadron, demonstrating exceptional proficiency with both fighters and bombers. Throughout her service, Io earned a reputation as one of the best snipers, becoming a respected figure among the corsairs.

Early Years and Family
Io Tiberius Da Costa was born in 801 A.S on the planet Crete, the only daughter in a wealthy family of hereditary officers in the corsair fleet. Despite the challenges on Crete, Io's childhood and youth were privileged. Her father, Luca Tiberius, commander of one of the corsair fleets, began her military education from a young age. At the age of 12, Io started her training at a military school. While not the top student initially, her talents emerged later, especially when she enrolled in the flight academy at 16.

Io had prior experience piloting fighters during training with her uncle, Jose Da Costa, and in the academy, she displayed leadership qualities. She flew her first combat sortie at 17 in 818 A.S, distinguishing herself in repelling the Hessians invaders in Omega 5, faithfully executing the orders of her commander, Fernando Fizikello, who tragically perished in battle against the Outcasts in 823.

Service in the Fleet
Io's service in the fleet progressed splendidly. She flew in Fernando Fizikello's squadron, specializing in raids deep into enemy territory, piracy, and defense against invasions. Io became renowned as the wingman in a pair of fighters, reliably covering Fizikello's back. The Fizikello squadron consisted of ten ships. For greater flexibility, Io sometimes piloted bombers, mastering them exceptionally well and becoming one of the best in her field. Her attacks on enemy capital ships seemed suicidal, yet enemy gunners could not match her flying prowess.

In 822 A.S, Io transferred to support the capital fleet, honing her skills in countless battles against various foes. In 826 A.S, at the age of 25, during the defense against an enemy attack in the northern nebula of Omicron Gamma, her ship lost control after being hit by a torpedo mistakenly launched by a bomber from another division of the corsair fleet. Subsequently, her ship was hit by an adapted Nomad blaster, drifting out of control in space. Io sustained injuries and spent a day unconscious in her cabin under the harsh glow of a Red Dwarf. She miraculously survived, rescued after the battle by a patrol. A characteristic burn appeared on Io's left cheek, a reminder of that day.

Apollo's Arrows
Io Tiberius Da Costa recovered from her injuries in 827 A.S. During this time, her father, Luca Tiberius, led the special unit Apollo's Arrows. Luca was dissatisfied with the state of affairs in the Imperio del Corsario and the weakness of the elders. He and his associates were concerned and suspicious of agreements made by the elders with dubious organizations such as the Corsair Corporations and Gallia. Luca also suspected collusion with Rheinland, Britannia, and the Corsairs' main enemy, the Outcasts.

After recovering from her injury, Io joined Apollo's Arrows, part of her uncle Jose Da Costa's squadron. In 828 A.S, Io led a squadron as her uncle could no longer pilot due to illness. Under Io's leadership, Apollo's Arrows carried out numerous daring raids. With the small forces of the squadron, Io managed to crush an entire Rheinland fleet in the Munich system and then conducted audacious pirate raids in Frankfurt and New Berlin. The Core in Omicron Rho suffered from her actions, and even Outcast aces experienced serious discomfort when Io appeared on the battlefield. However, soon Apollo's Arrows had to work harder than all other Corsairs.

In the early 830s, serious battles began for Freeport 9 in Omicron Theta. There, a fateful battle occurred for Apollo's Arrows. They suffered serious losses, and the Corsairs had almost no centralized command. The battle quickly turned into a massacre. This time, luck was not on Io's side — her ship was hit by a salvo of artillery from an enemy battleship. Io miraculously survived again. She woke up on the planet Crete and underwent treatment. Upon learning that her loyal comrade Lisset Vasquez and other Arrows survived, she immediately joined the Black Sails guild to reunite with her combat comrades and continue to crush their enemies.

Future
The future of Apollo's Arrows remains uncertain. Io's father, Luca Tiberius, perished in battle, and the fate of her uncle, Jose Da Costa, is unknown. Io is considering recruiting allies to establish reliable control along the Corsair territory borders, intimidate enemies with sudden strikes, and profit from ruthless and merciless piracy. Io Tiberius is a pilot and commander who has progressed from academy training to leading the Arrows squadron. Her service is distinguished by numerous combat achievements and her ability to make strategic decisions on the fly that often turned the tide of battles. After losing an eye in the battle for Freeport 9, Io continues to serve in the Black Sails guild, remaining brave and resolute.
