One of the principle functions of the forums are to broadcast RP in a manner that simply cannot be done ingame. As I personally have never received a response when hailing the DW, I've given up on talking to them. It doesn't take more than two or three instances before I give up, and that is probably pretty generous. You could well have strong ingame RP, but I haven't ever seen a hint of it. On the forums, the only bit of RP you have is the message dump, which leads me to believe you've a faction of two members, as the last post by a DW other than Raekur or Suzanna was February 16th.

I am personally concerned that an official faction would be so inactive on these forums.

That history was written for a specific purpose. Suzanna wanted us to be a mystery for the server to RP finding out about. So far it seems people want to be lazy and take the easy way out by making comments like yours telling us to change everything and fit in.
As I have read through several other faction statements and seen some that take and rewrite even some server rules I fail to see how ours is more unacceptable. Our offers a prime option for RP and discovery of the unknown while some other faction statements that were accepted are nothing more then an excuse to PVP whoever they want.

i thought this was a faction feedback thread on the DW, and not about other factions. in most feedback threads it's all about getting constructive critcism and not answering them with flames.

lazy? i thought i made it clear that i tried to RP with the DW several times. how can i solve the "mystery" of DW when most don't even RP?

the point i was trying to make about the story is that Freelancer has a fairly specific science in it's fiction. their was only one acient alien race that is long since gone. as i read in your message dump, the DW are an amalgam of different alien species with highly advanced technology from another galaxy. it just doesn't fit, i'm sorry. hence my post suggesting a change.

I'm going to echo the sentiments expressed by Blodo, Zeltak et al.

From what I've seen of you guys, with your BHG capspam, names like "Cap'n Crunch", complete lack of any form of roleplay et cetera, I don't see you as any different from any other Bounty Hunters that pointlessly fly battlecruisers annoying the coppers.

I'm going to echo Blunt's echo of the other's echoed sentiments.

It's very difficult to understand how we're supposed to plum the apparent secret that the DW hold close to their chest when it proves to be well nigh impossible to raise Captain Crunch on comms, let alone inquire as to why children love his particular brand of breakfast cereal.

That being said this thread is rapidly dissolving into a flame fest. Criticisms have been requested and criticisms have been leveled so might I now suggest that, barring anyone having a strong point that has yet to have been addressed, we take a moment to chilax and allow DW to figure out how it's going to respond to what issues have been risen thus far.

In other words, take 5.

It would be VERY helpful to have a good clan representing the BHs just to set a good example for the others who have no clue.

You guys have the best shot at it--hope you can get it working.

The faction feedback post was posted in response to Unselie asking me in a pm to add ours to the thread.
Of course I knew it would just open a "can of worms" but since jumping in to flame is what many players here enjoy doing, I fully expected some of the responses. However, when some players so called "facts" that they wish to complain about, are so way off, I really wonder what the point is. for example:

Boss wrote:
Quote:Don't take this the wrong way, Suzanna, but I've never seen you guys in anything smaller than a destroyer. Granted, you fly a gunship, but I've never encountered it personally

That is so completely wrong as MOST of the time I fly a FIGHTER. I don't even own a destroyer. note:

Fighter : 407 hours
gunship - 94 hours
Battleship: 85 hours

The fact that you say you have never encountered it personally, is irrelevant. The hours speak for themselves.

As to some of the other posts here, I see Raekur has tried to answer all your comments, suffice to say, if people want to know more about us, then they can talk to us in game or on disco TS. I notice not many players who posted here are ever on disco TS.
As to Crunch not responding on comms I will talk to him about washing the cornflakes out of his ears:wacko:

Sig edited out because it tripped Chrome's malware alarm.

To have a slight change of pace here, Suzanna and Raekur, let me ask you guys something:

Why, do you reckon, would it be a hard thing for other players and factions to integrate DW into their scenarios?

I've not yet seen DW and there capital ships in any of the Omicrons. I'm not sure that they ever go there , so that write's out the "hunt nomads thing".

I've have never met a DW in game ( I actually want to meet one , since they are the only official BH faction , I'd expect them to act better then all the other BH's I've ever met) so I don't realy have anything to say about there RP ingame.

Something got my attention here. Why are so many members against the ... how should I say this ... out of Freelancer , but still connected to Freelancer stories ? I don't realy see something bad about them , I myself am planning to write and RP one , but I fail to see the reason for people to be judged for thinking outside the box.

' Wrote:Boss,
If there are multiple hostiles using cruisers what would you expect to see, 3 fighters against 2 cruiser and 2 fighter/bombers? On one encounter it was 1 DW Battleship against 2 Talarca cruisers, 1 Liberty Battlecruiser, and 4 fighter/bombers.
Before you decide to complain about us using capital ships in Omega-15, understand the situation that exists in that area. (Not being hostile, just filling in the blanks)

We fielded three gunboats against two battleships and a destroyer. The Harvesters (two of them in Talarcas) both died prior to the battle with us.

Hours are irrelevant. How am I supposed to know how many you have on each?

I think it bears saying that I PMed a whole lot of faction leaders. Also, to be fair, Suzanna's fighter is level 90. Thats right, its a fighter. An Rc. It didn't respond to me either, I don't think....but then again, I do blather on in system chat.

In response to Eternal: I dislike the suggestion of alternate dimensions and the incorporations of other stories because I feel it clashes with suspension of disbelief and construction of a coherent universe...it breaks the fourth wall, constantly. Moreover, Freelancer, and Disco as a separate thing from freelancer, has a reasonably specific science to it, and its close to reality...its not that these are alternate dimensions, its that they're different stories. Freelancer is rich and full of its own story, and Disco even more so. Adding in another contemporary fiction weakens that. I find it distasteful and an example of both creative laziness and a criminal disinterest in the purity. But, then, I'm purist myself.

As to the hours, one could wonder what those four hundred hours of fighter jockeying are, as opposed to the hundred and seventy nine hours of Cap flight...Time ingame doesn't necessarily mean time playing or interacting with the community.
