I kinda have to agree with Lemon here, sure, I dislike him and 1st like probably a majority of players, but that doesn't matter right now.
The fact is, that a Dev lead should not say something like this in the official discord. Sure, Haste can and should have his opinion, but should he post that opinion with such harsh words in the public channel?
My answer is no.
He should stay neutral, and not use such harsh words. Saying, I dislike most of the actions of 1st and I think they should encourage themself to get better in the roleplay aspect and ingame aspect sounds way nicer.

I rise from my crypt only to say that I second this. Its hilarious that I was judged for exactly similar behavior.
I haven't had much much experience with 1st after my rp with them as SEO a year or so ago. (Which was a positive experience for me personally). All I'm going to say is that a larger active faction is often more prone to player mistakes or a rotten apple inside the group. Speak with their lead or at least post in the respected faction feedback instead of venting and complaining in the public discord. You're literally pushing new and vet players away.
Especially a mod or dev should take more care of this. I haven't always agreed with Lemon's leadership style or way of playing, but he has a point there. It spreads the sentiment some factions are treated different over others. Which i'm sure is not the case.

This would require 1st to currently be an active faction or to have a feedback thread. The first issue is resolved by them managing to keep their new players engaged and interested, and judging by the activity of their more recent players that isn't the case. The latter would be resolved by the faction be willing to accept the fact that they need to have a feedback thread and actually work to resolve these issues, but they don't want to actually do that. Seeing as they've been in the process of getting their faction "fleshed-out" and that it is still lacking "in game footprint" after two years (See here: https://discoverygc.com/forums/showthrea...pid2264968) , I don't think we can expect to see a feedback thread that is taken seriously from them any time soon.
Begone, low roleplay. Factions that don't suck should receive preferential treatment. Or, more properly, factions that do suck should be treated as such.
Did you ever hear the tragedy of Darth Lemon the Victim? I thought not. It’s not a story the Onest would tell you. It’s a Staff legend. Darth Lemon was a Dark Lord of the Onest, so powerful and so wise he could use the newbies in his faction to influence the staff to prevent his faction being sanctioned… He had such a knowledge of the dark side that he could even keep the ones he cared about from being banned. The dark side of letting newbies loose without so much as a cursory glance at the rule page is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural. He became so powerful… the only thing he was afraid of was getting banned, which eventually, of course, he did. Unfortunately, he pretended to not notice his ship was travelling at 300ms, in a fight with multiple staff members present. Ironic. He could save others from being banned, but not himself.
This latest antic really is just what hit the nail in the coffin for me.
Like I have been in and out of this community for well over a decade much longer than my profile registration suggests and it's been a rollercoaster definitly with it's ups and downs, but the past 4 or so years?
Not even down hill this experience has been just falling off the side of a cliff.
We wonder why new players don't stick around or why veteran players only come here briefly for a few months then go away again?
It's cause of this bullshit with supposedly staff members taking sides or projecting their wants over community needs.
Don't get me wrong there are Staff that I really do like but the Discovery we actually cared about has been dead for awhile and we've let the morons from the aslyum gain control and piss on it.
I know most won't care about what I've said as I've been radio silent on the forums for a long time. But genuinely

To those who are actually trying to do something I thank you but I'm out, Fly safe and be kind to eachother.

This is all I am asking them to do too. To make a bigger effort to do so. As long as it's seen and at least some form of acknowledgement is provided, then that's enough for me. To clarify, I didn't mean to attack you before or drag you into my complaint, as my issue is directed at the admin team as a whole rather than yourself. Just frustrating is all.
