Captain,

First and foremost, I apologize for putting you on the spot here. I'm aware transmissions like these draw the eye of Naval Intelligence, even moreso than active combat against Nomad entities, so I will make this brief and concise.

My name is Sarah Pierce, a Colonel with the Order's Legacy of Orillion cell. I command a small detachment deployed to the region to provide combat assistance against and collected information on the Nomads, entities I'm sure you're aware of given yesterday's events, as well as any objects that may be connected to them. Among my detachment is Recon Cruiser Ubaste, the CO of which provided me with a report of the events within Ontario and Inverness. Despite some understandable scrutiny amongst the Navy ships that were present, I was told that you were largely the reason Ubaste departed without incident. For that, you have my gratitude.

As you've seen, alien activity around the colonies has become more prolific, and in some parts even brazen. Attacks across the Independent and Border Worlds attributed to common pirates, yet with little evidence of any human activity on the part of the aggressor. Part of my assignment out here is to both collect and distribute information on encounters, which has us documenting what we can from the source to send back to command to analyze. Until now, my men and I have only spoken with freelancers and the like, with no contact with House officials, for fairly obvious reasons.

With that said, given the field report provided to me by Captain Tilson, I'm aware that your force was already engaged with the Nomads when he and his crew arrived. Any information you can provide about the encounter, especially pertaining to that larger warform, would be invaluable to our mission out here. Likewise, if you have any questions, I will try my best to answer them.

Alien activity have spiked over recent months and its becoming clear, the nearest nexus hub of this infestation is in Ontario, a system that we shut closed after Corporation investments taken a step back, before even the The Pulse event happened. Only bad things now come from there and the situation is more or less precarious to say at least.

I could had seized that ship second it came out of the Inverness Jump Hole and interrogate the entire crew, but I did not, and I would never do that in face of a Nomad threat so close to Liberty space - recipe for disaster one might say - and never to Legacy cell, never. We need every possible man and woman on this crisis to be resolved - but the amount of the third hostile parties coming to investigate every bit of the Sudbury Anomaly is staggering, Xenos, Lane Hackers, Technocrats and whatever scum that can be found, clash with the LSF and Navy detachments alike in a attempt in getting better understanding on the matter.

Miss Pierce, I'm gonna say this straight. You're the only Order personnel that I've seen so far in Ontario system. You have my respect. And top it all off, the surprise the Legacy of Orillion is still active is pleasant one. I had heard the actions of your cell, back when I was just Lieutenant Commander in the Gallic war. Hearing that someone is actually taking active initiative against Nomad threat is pleasing to my ears, so I'm just gonna ask: keep it going.

Well. I had talked too much. You're here for intelligence.

2050 hours, a report onboard Shenandoah by my XO Jason Cooper had came across my desk concerning a Nomad warform, and its trajectory towards Ontario. Nevertheless, I took command shortly after your ship arrived to engage the remaining Nomad warform. Our incursion into Inverness system would happen aprox. 2105 hours. Although we tried to follow to link up with our pilot. We've received a message that threat had been in some way expunged. In any case, we've proceeded to rally at Ontario jump hole, expecting a enemy attack to occur and surely enough, Technocracy responded to our presence in the system - alongside your Order Cruiser arriving just in that moment.

Although in fact, we were waiting for our pilot to come back, I was able to snuck coded transmission to Ubaste and warn about getting out of here as soon as possible. And when our pilot came back, we headed out of the danger-zone as soon as possible into the Liberty space.

Now - my intelligence analysts have no clue how a Nomad Warform this large, only seen in Omicrons, I was freely flying through Liberty space. Although, ships of this size are known to Cloak, we did not infact detect any EM signatures that would suggest attempt at cloaking up to avoid us in any meaning. It was just flying, to whatever destination into Inverness system after its jump into Ontario alongside Nomad-sized Cruiser escort - if you got any intelligence on what happened with that Cruiser, be sure to share.

Now as I shared my part, I would like you to share your part concerning our point-of-interest - I've got limited information about Sudbury Anomaly. Like I said, third parties have been pain on our backs for some time, no closer look, no deeper understanding of whatever device, weapon or shield this thing is generating. And from what I read before, its getting worse.

Order in some way I understand is neutral to some third parties in here, exception to Technocracy ships. Your ships would had been in best position in some way to research the situation on the planet's side. If you got details that you can share about the situation, I would be utmost grateful.

I also ask of your ships to steer clear from Liberty space at current moment, you can understand that California has a heightened-security apparatus at this moment and I cannot guarantee any safety if any at all.

Admiral,

I'm pleased to hear you're substantially aware of the situation, and I appreciate your tact and pragmatism. Others I suspect would have ignored their guts, and I feel we would have all been worse off for it. Indeed, much of our mission out here was expected to rely on those past understandings the Legacy cell endeavoured to instill, and I'm sure my superiors back home will be pleased to know their efforts remain vindicated to this day.

Prior to the arrival of Ubaste to Ontario, Legacy command was only aware of the energy release within the system. Ubaste was ordered to conduct a general sweep, conducting small fly-by maneuvers on noted points of interest, wreck clusters, and planetary bodies. Details concerning the Sudbury Anomaly were hearsay from local forces gathered both by passing Order operatives and Ubaste's pickup of idle radio chatter once in-system. Once Ubaste entered Sudbury's orbit, I had Captain Tilson perform a scan on the object, although no readings returned when attempting to scan past that barrier.

Any details I can give you at the moment stem from simple visual markers, but our running theory is a similar field generation^[1] to what Order operatives found at the 'Heaven's Gate' compound during the Inter-Colony Crisis of 800 A.S. Many of the shield's characteristics match those of 'Heaven's Gate', including a complete immunity to weapons fire, and a subtle energetic feedback signal we've found to be synonymous with Nomad structural barriers. Our only concern in this regard compared to the shields found at 'Heaven's Gate' was the lack of external generators, leading us to theorize either a subterranean power source, or alien technology utilizing the planet's interior, a feat that would not be beyond the Nomads to have developed or retained from their creators.

We did note a very clear structure at the surface beneath the barrier, reinforcing our theory regarding its generation. Any readings beyond visual and radiological required levels of scanning intensity that Ubaste was simply not capable of. I hope to have Ubaste conduct another attempt at retrieving scans before the week is out.

As for your account of the Nomad entities your people engaged, the Legacy cell and the Order at large have had encounters with alien vessels matching these behaviors before. Their readings do not always match those of warforms more commonly found within the Edge Worlds or around decaying Nomad hives. There is a theory that these entities are distinct from the others, but the arguments for this are generally attributed to environmental adaptation, a trait that Nomads are infamous for exploiting.
The smaller warform that fled into the East Avlemore matched some of these characteristics, similar to the larger one your people dispatched. Ubaste was not able to make proper scans during its fight with the warform, but was able to confirm its retreat^[2] within a structure we believe to be a dormant hive. However, its position within Inverness makes confirming it troubling given the substantial Technocrat presence in-system.

Overall, both the Sudbury Anomaly as well as a potential hive in the region pose a threat that cannot be ignored. We are prepared to provide field assistance like that against the warforms before, as well as a continued monitor on Sudbury to detect potential upsets. For now, I will have my men defer away from Liberty space going forward to avoid undue issues as you've requested.

I hope you've been well.
I'm making contact to provide you with our recent readings and my report^[1] regarding the anomaly at Sudbury, to be disclosed to relevant personnel at your discretion. So far, we've documented a considerable spike in energy readings, as well as an anomalous formation generated above the planet's surface. Initial scans suggest it to be some sort of jump anomaly, and we've detected a considerable level of ionizing radiation bring emitted from the singularity. As such, I would strongly advise against close-range scans without proper shielding.

Though our findings aren't as revealing as I'd have preferred, I'm hoping what we've documented can be of some use to your people. I'll continue to have my men watch over the site, and will contact you again should we have another update.
