A PACT. A PRIZE. A JOURNEY.

THE PACT

There was once a Bretonian failure of a Son who fancied expensive ships and Gallic games of chance. Fortunately for the enterprising individual, drinks and gambles go hand in hand. A taunt to the mark, a nod to the dealer, and the ship is mine. If only my compatriots didn't cost every last credit I had.

THE PRIZE

The Infernal.

An Obsidian-class 'fighter' of corporate make. It wouldn't pass without a sneering glance at a clan moot, but that might be more of envy than quality. I have a feeling that any of my kin would do worse than kill for the chance to drag one from the void. Still, there's something to be said for salvage. That being that whatever survives is worth its weight in diamonds.

THE JOURNEY

BRETONIA

Needs no introductions. A land rich in military-grade opportunity for the likes of me. If Her Majesty's charters were loose with the equipment before, all bets are off now. Better than home, at any rate.

Devil's Accountings

  • Acquire Lodgings
  • Find Employment
  • Acquire Weapons
  • Acquire an Engine
  • ???
  • Glorious Prosperity

Attached is a handwritten deed transferring the vessel Infernal from one Marshall Robertson to 'Adenike'.

BRETONIA!

The Journey

Safe enough. Leeds is a dead colony, dreadful place. When I say dead, I mean truly, actually, dead. Hardly any navy patrols, and anything valuable picked clean long ago. To say nothing of the obvious.

London was a different sight.

There's no simple way to describe it. Scrap has spread far and wide. Bretonia, Gallia, and Liberty sent what passed for their finest into the grinder and the results are spectacular. It's been years since the Battle of London and the material consequences still play out. It's a Junker's Paradise.

Prospects, unfortunately, never come easy without conflict as evidenced by the limping convoys coming out of the Cumbria. Given my lack of equipment, I chose to take the plunge.

Salutations!

Upon my arrival in the Dublin system, I was confronted my four men, first among which was a Mister Nero, a company therapist.

I was immediately asked to partake in therapy to which I agreed because, well, it's just what you do. The nearby naval officer, one Victor Steiner, didn't much care for my responses. Unfortunately, our counseling session was cut short, and I was left with more questions than I had before.

Mister Steiner, however, was quite helpful. I'm not quite sure what agreement I've forged with him - or his friends - but surely, it will be profitable.

A Claim

Once the last of my newfound associates was bid adieu (as I hear the Gallics say), I took the road towards breaching the Tau cluster.

Planet Harris is a lovely place by our standards. Corporate project turned occupied colony turned former warzone corporate project! Suffice it to say, the prospects are well, even if the market is meager.

Scattered trenchworks pass for cheap lodgings in this place. My particular hole has a lovely vault, still sealed, just tempting me to plunder it.

[28.11.2024 21:57:08] Chopping.Jack': Would ye look at that!
[28.11.2024 21:57:08] GF:SEC)-Nero.Bancroft: Hello Junker, are you here to join our group session?
[28.11.2024 21:57:09] Infernal: Salutations.
[28.11.2024 21:57:09] Arturo.Rasgado: I don't think Jack's going to answer your question. I think Jack's a little fed up with your therapy session, to be honest.
[28.11.2024 21:57:25] Infernal: What kind of session would this be?
[28.11.2024 21:57:28] Chopping.Jack': I can't answer his question because they are dumb.
[28.11.2024 21:57:30] GF:SEC)-Nero.Bancroft: Group therapy
[28.11.2024 21:57:34] Infernal: Gladly.
[28.11.2024 21:57:36] Infernal: You first.
[28.11.2024 21:57:36] GF:SEC)-Nero.Bancroft: I'm helping Jack to open up
[28.11.2024 21:57:46] GF:SEC)-Nero.Bancroft: I ask the questions here I'm afraid.
[28.11.2024 21:57:49] Victor.Steiner: Why is there a 'therapy session' to begin with?
[28.11.2024 21:57:53] Infernal: Ask away.
[28.11.2024 21:57:56] GF:SEC)-Nero.Bancroft: I'm the company therapist
[28.11.2024 21:58:05] Victor.Steiner: You picked a hell of a place...
[28.11.2024 21:58:07] GF:SEC)-Nero.Bancroft: Think of a colour Infernal, visualise it, and tell me how it makes you feel
[28.11.2024 21:58:16] Infernal: Mm.
[28.11.2024 21:58:22] Arturo.Rasgado: Oh! Look at the time.
[28.11.2024 21:58:27] Infernal: Color first? Or the feeling?
[28.11.2024 21:58:32] GF:SEC)-Nero.Bancroft: Colour first, then feeling
[28.11.2024 21:58:34] Arturo.Rasgado: I just realized I've got an incredibly important meeting scheduled.
[28.11.2024 21:58:42] Infernal: Rose.
[28.11.2024 21:58:42] Arturo.Rasgado: Don't do anything rash, Jack!
[28.11.2024 21:58:43] Chopping.Jack': Ay!
[28.11.2024 21:58:46] Chopping.Jack': You ain't gettin anywhere!
[28.11.2024 21:58:53] GF:SEC)-Nero.Bancroft: And how does Rose make you feel?
[28.11.2024 21:59:01] Infernal: Excited.
[28.11.2024 21:59:08] Victor.Steiner: Seriously...
[28.11.2024 21:59:18] Victor.Steiner: Excited?
[28.11.2024 21:59:22] Victor.Steiner: Come on man..
[28.11.2024 21:59:24] Arturo.Rasgado: I really must go. Please turn around immediately.
[28.11.2024 21:59:26] Chopping.Jack': You're a Corsair I can't leave ye roam free.
[28.11.2024 21:59:26] Infernal: Allow me to rephrase.
[28.11.2024 21:59:35] GF:SEC)-Nero.Bancroft: Let's not try to undermine how the colour makes him feel
[28.11.2024 21:59:43] Infernal: Pensive, maybe?
[28.11.2024 21:59:43] Victor.Steiner: Alright, fair enough
[28.11.2024 21:59:45] Arturo.Rasgado: How about the therapist? The "retired" Armed Forces.. captain?
[28.11.2024 21:59:48] Arturo.Rasgado: Can't you bother them?
[28.11.2024 21:59:55] Chopping.Jack': They talk to much.
[28.11.2024 21:59:56] Infernal: Anxious, but not scared.
[28.11.2024 22:00:01] Chopping.Jack': And achieve nothing.
[28.11.2024 22:00:05] Arturo.Rasgado: So do I! It's why I must leave right now.
[28.11.2024 22:00:10] Arturo.Rasgado: I've got lots to talk about.
[28.11.2024 22:00:12] Arturo.Rasgado: But not with you!
[28.11.2024 22:00:12] Victor.Steiner: Apprehensive?
[28.11.2024 22:00:15] GF:SEC)-Nero.Bancroft: And why do you think that is?
[28.11.2024 22:00:18] Infernal: Approximately.
[28.11.2024 22:00:22] Arturo.Rasgado: You're a bit slow, to be honest, Jack. You can't keep up with me.
[28.11.2024 22:00:27] Arturo.Rasgado: We're not exactly made for one another.
[28.11.2024 22:00:49] Infernal: Memories of the past, I suppose. Deals gone bad?
[28.11.2024 22:00:58] GF:SEC)-Nero.Bancroft: What aspect of Rose was involved in those deals?
[28.11.2024 22:01:41] Infernal: Those disgustingly classless cigars less than proper elements in the Omegas consume.
[28.11.2024 22:02:05] GF:SEC)-Nero.Bancroft: Would you prefer it if the colour Rose didn't make you feel this way?
[28.11.2024 22:02:17] Infernal: No.
[28.11.2024 22:02:27] Infernal: I'd prefer the warning, I suppose.
[28.11.2024 22:02:29] GF:SEC)-Nero.Bancroft: You use it as an anchor?
[28.11.2024 22:02:42] Infernal: You frame it as a crutch when it isn't.
[28.11.2024 22:02:52] GF:SEC)-Nero.Bancroft: I'm not saying it is, just keeping an open mind to the concept
[28.11.2024 22:02:59] Infernal: Then yes.
[28.11.2024 22:03:03] GF:SEC)-Nero.Bancroft: Trying to get an understanding of what the colour means to you
[28.11.2024 22:03:06] GF:SEC)-Nero.Bancroft: I see
[28.11.2024 22:03:16] GF:SEC)-Nero.Bancroft: It's a shame the other two left, this kind of discussion would have been very beneficial to them
[28.11.2024 22:03:28] GF:SEC)-Nero.Bancroft: Unfortunately I imagine they have gone somewhere to kill each other
[28.11.2024 22:03:29] Victor.Steiner: It is rather telling no?
[28.11.2024 22:03:42] Infernal: Telling how?
[28.11.2024 22:04:03] Victor.Steiner: You can learn a bit about someone by which conversations they want to take part in
[28.11.2024 22:04:08] Victor.Steiner: Or which ones they don't
[28.11.2024 22:04:09] GF:SEC)-Nero.Bancroft: That is very true
[28.11.2024 22:04:26] Infernal: And who were they, then?
[28.11.2024 22:04:33] Victor.Steiner: No idea
[28.11.2024 22:04:37] GF:SEC)-Nero.Bancroft: A bunch of thugs.
[28.11.2024 22:04:40] Victor.Steiner: I've no idea who you are
[28.11.2024 22:04:52] GF:SEC)-Nero.Bancroft: I tried to reform them as best as I could, unfortunately I failed
[28.11.2024 22:04:58] GF:SEC)-Nero.Bancroft: But maybe next time, there might be another breakthrough
[28.11.2024 22:04:58] Infernal: Yours truly? Or the company man?
[28.11.2024 22:05:08] Victor.Steiner: All in good time.
[28.11.2024 22:05:11] Victor.Steiner: Both sir
[28.11.2024 22:05:22] Victor.Steiner: I take it you are not a member of the Congress
[28.11.2024 22:05:39] Infernal: I've yet to make their acquaintance, even if their reputation.
[28.11.2024 22:05:49] Infernal: Adenike. Pleasantly disposed.
[28.11.2024 22:06:03] Infernal: Or, ahm, what's the opposite of indisposed?
[28.11.2024 22:06:14] Victor.Steiner: Avaliable
[28.11.2024 22:06:19] Infernal: Ah. That.
[28.11.2024 22:06:29] Infernal: And you?
[28.11.2024 22:06:32] Victor.Steiner: And Mister Nero?
[28.11.2024 22:06:45] GF:SEC)-Nero.Bancroft: I am simply the company therapist
[28.11.2024 22:06:49] Victor.Steiner: Oh, Victor Steiner. At your service gentlemen.
[28.11.2024 22:06:53] Infernal: He is simply the company therapist.
[28.11.2024 22:07:19] Victor.Steiner: Simply the Company therapist you say?
[28.11.2024 22:07:24] Victor.Steiner: Well.
[28.11.2024 22:07:30] Infernal: You expect more from their types?
[28.11.2024 22:07:31] GF:SEC)-Nero.Bancroft: I would call myself extraordinary, personally
[28.11.2024 22:07:34] Infernal: No offense.
[28.11.2024 22:07:41] Victor.Steiner: I hope they pay you on triple time.
[28.11.2024 22:07:54] GF:SEC)-Nero.Bancroft: I'm trying to convince them.
[28.11.2024 22:07:54] Infernal: As do I, as I cannot pay.
[28.11.2024 22:08:15] Victor.Steiner: Wasn't there another of yours around?
[28.11.2024 22:08:21] GF:SEC)-Nero.Bancroft: They had to leave.
[28.11.2024 22:08:21] Victor.Steiner: I'm sure they were just here..
[28.11.2024 22:08:26] Victor.Steiner: Oh.
[28.11.2024 22:08:27] Infernal: A compliment will have to suffice. I admire your vessel, sir.
[28.11.2024 22:08:50] GF:SEC)-Nero.Bancroft: Thank you, it was costly to get these weapons together. Fortunately, I rarely find myself using them
[28.11.2024 22:09:07] GF:SEC)-Nero.Bancroft: The therapy sessions usually prevent bloodshed, and all parties leave feeling a bit better
[28.11.2024 22:09:27] Victor.Steiner: How often do you conduct these...improptue sessions?
[28.11.2024 22:09:41] Infernal: I find myself in a similar situation. Where does one find employment in Her Majesty's realm these days?
[28.11.2024 22:09:41] GF:SEC)-Nero.Bancroft: Almost every day
[28.11.2024 22:10:09] Victor.Steiner: Well, as I'm sure the company therapist would say, with with the BMM
[28.11.2024 22:10:18] Chopping.Jack' was obliterated by Arturo.Rasgado (100%)
[28.11.2024 22:10:42] Victor.Steiner: Alternatively, the Service, or perhaps Border worlds..
[28.11.2024 22:10:46] GF:SEC)-Nero.Bancroft: I have a matter I need to attend to on Lisheen unfortunately.
[28.11.2024 22:10:49] Victor.Steiner: Then there are...the others, I guess.
[28.11.2024 22:10:55] GF:SEC)-Nero.Bancroft: But hopefully I will catch you guys in space again, and we can talk further
[28.11.2024 22:11:01] Victor.Steiner: Indeed
[28.11.2024 22:11:03] GF:SEC)-Nero.Bancroft: It is good to share our emotions. It is what reminds us what it means to be human
[28.11.2024 22:11:05] Victor.Steiner: Been a pleasure sir.
[28.11.2024 22:11:06] GF:SEC)-Nero.Bancroft: Safe skies
[28.11.2024 22:11:10] Infernal: Good day. I will look for you another time.
[28.11.2024 22:11:15] Infernal: Safe skies.
[28.11.2024 22:11:19] Infernal: Others?
[28.11.2024 22:11:30] Victor.Steiner: Oh, the spies
[28.11.2024 22:11:48] Infernal: Do tell. Assuming no harm to myself.
[28.11.2024 22:12:05] Victor.Steiner: No harm, just the Intelligence Service
[28.11.2024 22:12:18] Victor.Steiner: You asked for employment, they employ.
[28.11.2024 22:12:25] Victor.Steiner: One of many
[28.11.2024 22:12:27] Infernal: You mean you aren't going to have to shoot me now that I know?
[28.11.2024 22:12:39] Victor.Steiner: That they exist is perfectly well known.
[28.11.2024 22:12:46] Victor.Steiner: Hardly a state secret
[28.11.2024 22:12:56] Infernal: Jokes, apparently, have no such reputation.
[28.11.2024 22:13:07] Victor.Steiner: apologies.
[28.11.2024 22:13:13] Infernal: None needed.
[28.11.2024 22:13:29] Victor.Steiner: What brings a Junker to Bretonia?
[28.11.2024 22:13:41] Infernal: Better prospects, ironic as it is.
[28.11.2024 22:13:41] Victor.Steiner: Other than the search for gainful employment
[28.11.2024 22:13:47] Victor.Steiner: Seriously?
[28.11.2024 22:13:53] Infernal: Yes.
[28.11.2024 22:13:53] Victor.Steiner: Better than where?
[28.11.2024 22:14:09] Infernal: The omegas, assuming you've run out of contacts.
[28.11.2024 22:14:22] Infernal: Or welcome harbors.
[28.11.2024 22:14:35] Victor.Steiner: I suppose that would be true for most places. Annoy the Red Hessians did we?
[28.11.2024 22:14:36] Infernal: The second one is of deadly consequence.
[28.11.2024 22:14:58] Infernal: And a few more bartenders than I should have, yes.
[28.11.2024 22:15:24] Victor.Steiner: Unlucky. Although I understood things to be....quieter
[28.11.2024 22:15:34] Infernal: You misunderstood.
[28.11.2024 22:15:41] Infernal: As for the literal "prospects",
[28.11.2024 22:16:13] Infernal: It's quite the task to scour a wreck when it's between the reds and our therapy friends.
[28.11.2024 22:16:38] Victor.Steiner: So you came here...any particular type of work?
[28.11.2024 22:16:39] Infernal: Bretonia is much quieter in that regard.
[28.11.2024 22:16:48] Infernal: None whatsoever.
[28.11.2024 22:16:57] Infernal: Well.
[28.11.2024 22:17:09] Infernal: I do need to get my lovely prize outfitted.
[28.11.2024 22:17:15] Infernal: So yes, in that regard.
[28.11.2024 22:17:25] Victor.Steiner: So if one might be so bold as to assess
[28.11.2024 22:17:52] Infernal: Assessing is my profession, but go on.
[28.11.2024 22:18:15] Victor.Steiner: You are of the Junkers, you frequent both bars and criminal overlords alike for business. You travel and are...
[28.11.2024 22:18:21] Victor.Steiner: Avaliable for employment.
[28.11.2024 22:18:33] Victor.Steiner: As it were.
[28.11.2024 22:18:36] Infernal: That is an accurate, if limited, assessment.
[28.11.2024 22:18:53] Victor.Steiner: Very limited, but we have only just met.
[28.11.2024 22:19:00] Infernal: Although I would note that the proper authorities in those jurisdictions are less than proper.
[28.11.2024 22:19:12] Victor.Steiner: Quite.
[28.11.2024 22:19:17] Victor.Steiner: I didn't catch your name.
[28.11.2024 22:19:29] Infernal: Adenike will suffice.
[28.11.2024 22:19:43] Victor.Steiner: Adenike. That is not of the houses I assume.
[28.11.2024 22:19:46] Victor.Steiner: Borderworlds?
[28.11.2024 22:19:51] Infernal: Junker.
[28.11.2024 22:20:04] Victor.Steiner: As you wish.
[28.11.2024 22:20:30] Victor.Steiner: Well I'm sure someone like your good self would be most attractive to the right people
[28.11.2024 22:20:39] Infernal: I would like to think so.
[28.11.2024 22:21:04] Infernal: Assuming it doesn't end in my demise. Or any ruinous financial losses.
[28.11.2024 22:21:16] Infernal: To that, I'm burning fuel. Back to London, then.
[28.11.2024 22:21:25] Victor.Steiner: After you.
[28.11.2024 22:22:06] Infernal: Those company men, they pay well?
[28.11.2024 22:22:21] Victor.Steiner: BMM? I cannot say, I never worked for them.
[28.11.2024 22:22:25] Victor.Steiner: I was employed elsewhere
[28.11.2024 22:22:41] Infernal: You know nothing reputationally?
[28.11.2024 22:23:10] Victor.Steiner: I know that the BMM have a solid reputation in creation and manufacturing
[28.11.2024 22:23:24] Infernal: Fair.
[28.11.2024 22:23:25] Victor.Steiner: As for...HR, it is a little more flexible
[28.11.2024 22:23:34] Infernal: We saw that much.
[28.11.2024 22:23:51] Victor.Steiner: Dublin would not be in the state it is if they had more men like him
[28.11.2024 22:23:59] Victor.Steiner: Suffice to say, BMM learns the hard way
[28.11.2024 22:24:20] Victor.Steiner: But it is not for me to comment on the dealings of private business
[28.11.2024 22:24:50] Victor.Steiner: Is it something you think you could do?
[28.11.2024 22:24:53] Victor.Steiner: For years?
[28.11.2024 22:24:59] Infernal: I have, in a way.
[28.11.2024 22:25:12] Infernal: Maybe not that way.
[28.11.2024 22:25:14] Victor.Steiner: Hm, a fair assessment.
[28.11.2024 22:25:35] Victor.Steiner: So what is it you seek now? Stablity? Knowledge? Adventure?
[28.11.2024 22:25:49] Infernal: Is that a question of ambition, or need?
[28.11.2024 22:25:55] Victor.Steiner: Both
[28.11.2024 22:26:06] Victor.Steiner: What do you want? What do you need?
[28.11.2024 22:26:49] Infernal: My own entrepreneurial spirit wants a place of my own. I guess you could call that stability.
[28.11.2024 22:26:55] Infernal: Others might brand it power.
[28.11.2024 22:27:16] Victor.Steiner: I would call it 'room to grow'
[28.11.2024 22:27:25] Victor.Steiner: there is, of course, nothing wrong with power
[28.11.2024 22:27:26] Infernal: But reality requires that I obtain employment and make my prize less...
[28.11.2024 22:27:28] Infernal: Defenseless.
[28.11.2024 22:27:52] Victor.Steiner: Your prize?
[28.11.2024 22:27:59] Infernal: The Infernal.
[28.11.2024 22:28:04] Victor.Steiner: Ah, the ship
[28.11.2024 22:28:06] Infernal: The prior owner only sought fit for joyrides.
[28.11.2024 22:28:06] Victor.Steiner: Of course.
[28.11.2024 22:28:35] Victor.Steiner: Hm.
[28.11.2024 22:28:42] Infernal: I couldn't tell you why. The engine needs replacing as well.
[28.11.2024 22:28:48] Victor.Steiner: One might be willing to find you employment.
[28.11.2024 22:29:11] Infernal: Go on.
[28.11.2024 22:29:22] Victor.Steiner: Employment within circumstances you are already used to.
[28.11.2024 22:29:43] Infernal: You promise too much. Is this some sort of devilish pact?
[28.11.2024 22:29:51] Death: BCV-Prosperity suffered a self-inflicted catastrophic decompression.
[28.11.2024 22:29:59] Victor.Steiner: Certainly not. A friendly word put in to a past aquaintence would surely see you right.
[28.11.2024 22:30:10] Infernal: Salutations, officer Maya.
[28.11.2024 22:30:26] Infernal: And what would be the expectation on your part?
[28.11.2024 22:30:27] [CDI-Intern]Miss_Maya: Greetings, eveything in order i assume ?
[28.11.2024 22:30:38] Victor.Steiner: Nothing. A favour for a favour.
[28.11.2024 22:30:53] Infernal: So then it is a pact. But not one I'm unused to.
[28.11.2024 22:30:56] Victor.Steiner: One day, you might be in a position to repay it or pass it on.
[28.11.2024 22:31:12] Victor.Steiner: Yes officer, this man is simply looking for employment
[28.11.2024 22:31:15] Infernal: Mm. I'd shake your hand, but I might dirty whatever glove you're surely wearing.
[28.11.2024 22:31:22] Victor.Steiner: No gloves.
[28.11.2024 22:31:30] Victor.Steiner: And of course, you may refuse at any time.
[28.11.2024 22:31:38] Infernal: Safe to say you need not my assent in blood?
[28.11.2024 22:31:38] [CDI-Intern]Miss_Maya: All good then. Keep doing what you`re doing.
[28.11.2024 22:31:54] Infernal: Not a deal breaker, either way.
[28.11.2024 22:32:15] Victor.Steiner: Not at all, besides. I can place an offer on the table, it is up to you to accept it.
[28.11.2024 22:32:22] Victor.Steiner: If that is what you want, of course.
[28.11.2024 22:32:33] Infernal: I'll await the opportunity, then.
[28.11.2024 22:32:52] Victor.Steiner: And I shall reach out to my friend to see if he can find you a place.
[28.11.2024 22:33:02] Victor.Steiner: Although I suspect you won't have any issues.
[28.11.2024 22:33:09] Infernal: I plan to make my way up towards the Tau's, for now. I'm sure I can be found.
[28.11.2024 22:33:23] Infernal: Short of 29. But out of leeds.
[28.11.2024 22:33:39] Victor.Steiner: Certainly, a letter will be sent to the nearest Freeport.
[28.11.2024 22:33:55] Victor.Steiner: Do be sure to check in once in a while.
[28.11.2024 22:34:05] Infernal: Then I'll bid you good day Mister... Sir? Steiner?
[28.11.2024 22:34:17] Victor.Steiner: Mister Steiner is fine
[28.11.2024 22:34:28] Victor.Steiner: Good day to you to sire.
[28.11.2024 22:34:32] Victor.Steiner: Safe journey to you
[28.11.2024 22:34:33] Infernal: Ah. My apologies, Londoners confuse me with their ettiquette.
[28.11.2024 22:34:37] Infernal: And you.
[28.11.2024 22:34:42] Infernal: Safe skies.

ELDRITCH ABOMINATION!

DREADFUL! Absolutely, POSITIVELY, dreadful!

A man can fly halfway across Sirius and still be haunted by these damnable spirits! Are we safe nowhere?

There I was, inspecting the cargo waiting in the moors, and nothing less than an abomination of a machine presents itself to me! Personally! And worse still, it took an interest.

I was lucky enough to escape the conversation with my life and a headache. Plenty of others aren't so lucky.

It's no small matter, the stories the clansmen tell about these things. They say they're wildlings that are prowling the orange wilds for easy prey. More than a few parents have found the husks of their offspring, empty and scoured of all life. The purpose is simple: If you see these damnable things, pray, and move along. At cruise.

The fact that these things have taken to politics now just makes everything worse than it possibly could have been!

CURIOUS INQUIRIES

A new day, and a new associate. A neighbor if nothing else.

Venus approached me at Holman under the guise of admiring my prize. Despite her prying, she revealed nothing except her name and hopes of loyalty. She even dared question the propriety of a lone constable afraid in the void. In the nature of politeness, if not neighborly love, she chose to guide me to an onyx rock, shrouded in ice. It would make a lovely tourist destination to those that could afford it. Unfortunately, I am in no position to make a claim.

One day, perhaps. In the meantime, Venus rose the prospect of work. It would seem that our own ingenuity is still appreciated, whatever preconceptions Sirius may have of the Clans. While I have yet to receive a proper offer, I made my preparations.

Officer Maya was present at her usual haunt. Steiner's absence was noted, a name of repute it would seem. She directed me to Scarborough, where more precise instruments were acquired.

[29.11.2024 16:37:14] Infernal: Salutations.
[29.11.2024 16:37:18] A/)-Venus.: Hello.
[29.11.2024 16:37:30] A/)-Venus.: Fancy ship for a Junker...
[29.11.2024 16:37:41] Infernal: Thank you!
[29.11.2024 16:38:12] A/)-Venus.: Sooo... how did you get it?
[29.11.2024 16:38:16] A/)-Venus.: I doubt you bought it.
[29.11.2024 16:38:22] Infernal: I did, in a sense.
[29.11.2024 16:38:34] Infernal: Does bribery count as a purchase?
[29.11.2024 16:38:46] A/)-Venus.: the sort of was on point...
[29.11.2024 16:38:53] A/)-Venus.: you bribed someone to steal it for you?
[29.11.2024 16:39:05] Infernal: Nothing so direct.
[29.11.2024 16:39:35] A/)-Venus.: Then?
[29.11.2024 16:39:58] Infernal: Story for another time, maybe. Preferably with those I'm associated with.
[29.11.2024 16:40:14] Infernal: I've not had your acquaintance in any case.
[29.11.2024 16:40:31] A/)-Venus.: You need others with you to talk to me - or did you mean you will only tell people you know?
[29.11.2024 16:40:39] Infernal: The second one.
[29.11.2024 16:40:57] A/)-Venus.: The name is Venus, does that help?
[29.11.2024 16:41:10] Infernal: It does. Adenike. A pleasure.
[29.11.2024 16:41:43] A/)-Venus.: Never heard a name like that before, but it's a nice name. It's good to meet you Aidenike... -
[29.11.2024 16:41:54] A/)-Venus.: or I guess Aden? Rolls off the tongue better
[29.11.2024 16:42:10] Infernal: I don't suppose I could stop you.
[29.11.2024 16:42:28] A/)-Venus.: Unless you don't like it?
[29.11.2024 16:42:29] Infernal: And Junker names aren't supposed to make sense to the likes of outsiders.
[29.11.2024 16:43:00] A/)-Venus.: hm, really? I never knew Junkers named themselves in special ways
[29.11.2024 16:43:08] A/)-Venus.: What does your name mean then?
[29.11.2024 16:43:24] Infernal: Nothing. It's a surname same as any.
[29.11.2024 16:43:45] A/)-Venus.: oh, right
[29.11.2024 16:43:46] Infernal: But these are clan things. It's more about buying power.
[29.11.2024 16:43:48] A/)-Venus.: what's your first name then?
[29.11.2024 16:44:03] Infernal: I've been quite open. Yours first.
[29.11.2024 16:44:16] Infernal: Surname, or first name?
[29.11.2024 16:44:28] A/)-Venus.: It's really just Venus for me
[29.11.2024 16:44:44] Infernal: Then Adenike it is.
[29.11.2024 16:44:55] A/)-Venus.: heh... I'm not lying.
[29.11.2024 16:45:05] Infernal: I wasn't implying you were.
[29.11.2024 16:45:13] Infernal: Merely that some things don't matter.
[29.11.2024 16:45:18] Notice: Armor Upgrades have been removed from the server. You will have received a full refund at purchase price.
[29.11.2024 16:45:26] A/)-Venus.: What do you want others to call you then?
[29.11.2024 16:45:41] Infernal: That would really depend on the nature of our association.
[29.11.2024 16:46:04] Infernal: Or, really, whether I'm looking to 'roll' you, as it were.
[29.11.2024 16:46:13] A/)-Venus.: roll me?
[29.11.2024 16:46:19] A/)-Venus.: what does that mean?
[29.11.2024 16:46:46] Infernal: Should we really discuss such improper things? Suffice to say I'll extend the benefit, and say you're not an unlucky mark.
[29.11.2024 16:47:03] A/)-Venus.: You talk weird
[29.11.2024 16:47:27] Infernal: I am quite proud of my extensive vocabulation.
[29.11.2024 16:47:37] Infernal: Sign of a good upbringing.
[29.11.2024 16:47:52] A/)-Venus.: so - that's why you got the fancy ship?
[29.11.2024 16:47:56] A/)-Venus.: rich family out there...
[29.11.2024 16:48:08] Infernal: Oh yes. Although not my own.
[29.11.2024 16:48:18] Infernal: I think they'll be quite fine without it in any case.
[29.11.2024 16:48:26] A/)-Venus.: You really did fall pretty far then if you ended up being a Junker.
[29.11.2024 16:48:43] Infernal: I don't see it that way at all, excusing your rudeness.
[29.11.2024 16:48:53] Infernal: And, quite frankly, prejudice.
[29.11.2024 16:49:25] A/)-Venus.: it's just my experience with Junkers.
[29.11.2024 16:49:40] A/)-Venus.: They generally are short on credits, looking for ways to make money.
[29.11.2024 16:50:12] Infernal: An uncharitible mind might note that those who are well set have no use for outsiders.
[29.11.2024 16:50:34] Infernal: I would simply say that we are legion, and you should know /who/ you are dealing with.
[29.11.2024 16:50:45] Infernal: Not /what/, that being the diaspora.
[29.11.2024 16:50:58] Infernal: Enough of my affiliations. Your own?
[29.11.2024 16:51:29] A/)-Venus.: What about it? We're neighbors
[29.11.2024 16:51:37] [MFE]Doc.Holliday: Hey, Gang
[29.11.2024 16:51:40] A/)-Venus.: Hello, MFE.
[29.11.2024 16:51:42] Infernal: Salutations, Zoner.
[29.11.2024 16:52:00] Infernal: Fine then. Neighbors it is.
[29.11.2024 16:52:15] A/)-Venus.: You know, in Inverness?
[29.11.2024 16:52:34] Infernal: I know it in passing. But seeing as yours truly is new to the cluster,
[29.11.2024 16:52:56] Infernal: It might be polite to show me around. Someplace new. As the locals are to do.
[29.11.2024 16:52:56] A/)-Venus.: the cluster, you mean Sirius?
[29.11.2024 16:53:00] Infernal: Tau.
[29.11.2024 16:53:14] A/)-Venus.: Almost feels like you're ordering me around
[29.11.2024 16:53:25] Infernal: You have insulted my people, among other things.
[29.11.2024 16:53:31] A/)-Venus.: I have not?
[29.11.2024 16:53:38] Infernal: Maybe not intentionally.
[29.11.2024 16:53:48] Infernal: Consider it a sign of good faith? For a newcomer?
[29.11.2024 16:54:29] A/)-Venus.: hrm...
[29.11.2024 16:54:52] A/)-Venus.: I merely spoke from experience. You're unlike any Junker I've seen or spoken to
[29.11.2024 16:55:16] A/)-Venus.: and it makes me feel you're not actually part of them, maybe you fled and use them their hospitality to go around?
[29.11.2024 16:55:17] Infernal: I should hope that's more form my glorious presence than anything else.
[29.11.2024 16:56:00] Infernal: If you truly feel that way, then the smart thing to do would be to avoid the charlatan.
[29.11.2024 16:56:36] A/)-Venus.: the charlatan?
[29.11.2024 16:57:01] Infernal: Allow me to rephrase, simply: If you do not believe that I am who I say I am,
[29.11.2024 16:57:10] Infernal: Then why deal with me?
[29.11.2024 16:57:48] A/)-Venus.: Maybe I'm just too curious to find out who or what you really are?
[29.11.2024 16:58:40] Infernal: A fair answer. Very well,
[29.11.2024 16:58:59] Infernal: Know that I will not choose to make your acquaintance again if you continue to voice your doubts about me.
[29.11.2024 16:59:10] Infernal: Least of all in earshot of anyone else.
[29.11.2024 16:59:29] A/)-Venus.: I'll have doubts for as long as I don't know you
[29.11.2024 16:59:37] A/)-Venus.: you were being vague from the very start.
[29.11.2024 16:59:54] A/)-Venus.: can't blame me for having questions because of that, or can you?
[29.11.2024 16:59:59] Infernal: I know only your name and your system of origin. I have been quite open in comparison.
[29.11.2024 17:00:28] A/)-Venus.: That's fair.
[29.11.2024 17:00:32] >(-Morioka: Konbanwa.
[29.11.2024 17:00:36] Infernal: Salutations.
[29.11.2024 17:00:36] A/)-Venus.: Hello.
[29.11.2024 17:01:00] A/)-Venus.: it really is fancy ship...
[29.11.2024 17:01:08] A/)-Venus.: fine - order me around then mister fancy.
[29.11.2024 17:01:12] A/)-Venus.: where do you want to go?
[29.11.2024 17:01:24] Infernal: That's why some poor Bretonian son doesn't have it anymore.
[29.11.2024 17:01:32] Infernal: You're a local. Dealer'
[29.11.2024 17:01:36] Infernal: Dealer's choice.
[29.11.2024 17:01:51] Infernal: A new station perhaps? Something hidden?
[29.11.2024 17:01:58] A/)-Venus.: hm...
[29.11.2024 17:02:03] Infernal: A jumphole I wouldn't know about?
[29.11.2024 17:02:06] A/)-Venus.: I'm normally not around these parts.
[29.11.2024 17:02:20] A/)-Venus.: But I can show you a fancy rock - it's a few systems away from here
[29.11.2024 17:02:28] Infernal: How far?
[29.11.2024 17:02:41] A/)-Venus.: Coronado. So Tau-29 - Baffin - Coronado.
[29.11.2024 17:02:45] A/)-Venus.: not that far.
[29.11.2024 17:02:54] Infernal: Capital. Let us go.
[29.11.2024 17:03:07] A/)-Venus.: [she chuckles] you talk so funny
[29.11.2024 17:04:10] Infernal: Salutations, freeworlder.
[29.11.2024 17:04:12] A/)-Venus.: Hello, Zoner.
[29.11.2024 17:04:23] Evil.Neo-: greetings
[29.11.2024 17:05:18] A/)-Venus.: How long have you been flying?
[29.11.2024 17:05:55] Infernal: All of my life. Not a lot of stations where I'm from.
[29.11.2024 17:06:05] A/)-Venus.: hm... vague
[29.11.2024 17:06:07] A/)-Venus.: I like it.
[29.11.2024 17:06:14] Infernal: Is it? That seems to be the norm.
[29.11.2024 17:06:51] A/)-Venus.: I'd imagine you're from the edge worlds then?
[29.11.2024 17:07:07] Infernal: The deep walker cloud.
[29.11.2024 17:07:35] A/)-Venus.: The omega's?
[29.11.2024 17:07:42] Infernal: Yes.
[29.11.2024 17:07:59] A/)-Venus.: Hm... gets pretty grim and dark in there...
[29.11.2024 17:08:53] A/)-Venus.: Almost there.
[29.11.2024 17:08:56] A/)-Venus.: Been here before?
[29.11.2024 17:08:57] Infernal: And how long has my host from Inverness been flying then?
[29.11.2024 17:09:10] Infernal: Once. On the journey into Bretonia.
[29.11.2024 17:09:20] A/)-Venus.: I've been in the seat for 11 years.
[29.11.2024 17:09:35] A/)-Venus.: We're going down
[29.11.2024 17:09:39] A/)-Venus.: Follow me.
[29.11.2024 17:10:38] A/)-Venus.: hm.. where is it
[29.11.2024 17:10:49] A/)-Venus.: oh there is is
[29.11.2024 17:11:10] A/)-Venus.: Follow me if you dare...
[29.11.2024 17:11:38] A/)-Venus.: Fancy rock isn't it?
[29.11.2024 17:11:55] Infernal: Positively.
[29.11.2024 17:12:20] Infernal: Mining is unfortunately not my forte. What is it?
[29.11.2024 17:12:27] A/)-Venus.: I've no idea
[29.11.2024 17:12:39] A/)-Venus.: I think it feeds on lost Junker souls, takes their brains
[29.11.2024 17:13:02] A/)-Venus.: I'm just here to sacrifice you to it.
[29.11.2024 17:13:14] Infernal: Funny. Ha.
[29.11.2024 17:13:26] A/)-Venus.: Not nervous are you?
[29.11.2024 17:13:27] Infernal: And you discovered this how, exactly?
[29.11.2024 17:13:36] A/)-Venus.: Scouting?
[29.11.2024 17:13:55] A/)-Venus.: or do you mean how I know it eats junkers?
[29.11.2024 17:14:11] A/)-Venus.: The last one I took here got swallowed whole~
[29.11.2024 17:14:12] Infernal: It's a very remote find.
[29.11.2024 17:14:30] A/)-Venus.: hmh
[29.11.2024 17:14:43] A/)-Venus.: I've no idea what it really is.
[29.11.2024 17:14:55] A/)-Venus.: but there are more strange things going on
[29.11.2024 17:15:03] Infernal: Always.
[29.11.2024 17:15:11] A/)-Venus.: like the massive space laser!
[29.11.2024 17:15:24] A/)-Venus.: [ she chuckles ]
[29.11.2024 17:15:28] Infernal: Somehow that's the least surprising thing said today.
[29.11.2024 17:15:44] A/)-Venus.: 2 systems away there is one - a huge one
[29.11.2024 17:15:45] Infernal: And who, pray, owns this magnificent armament?
[29.11.2024 17:16:02] A/)-Venus.: it's aimed or aligning itself with this sector from what I heard
[29.11.2024 17:16:29] A/)-Venus.: maybe this rock has something to do with it, maybe not.
[29.11.2024 17:16:32] Infernal: Hardly sounds friendly.
[29.11.2024 17:16:51] A/)-Venus.: it's not very friendly no.
[29.11.2024 17:17:18] Infernal: I'll pass on that particular viewing.
[29.11.2024 17:17:21] A/)-Venus.: I could show you that to-
[29.11.2024 17:17:23] A/)-Venus.: ah okay
[29.11.2024 17:17:38] A/)-Venus.: well it saves me having to tour you through Xenos space
[29.11.2024 17:17:45] Infernal: Who?
[29.11.2024 17:17:53] A/)-Venus.: You don't know who the Xenos are?
[29.11.2024 17:18:02] Infernal: No.
[29.11.2024 17:18:07] A/)-Venus.: The people ruining a Junker base?
[29.11.2024 17:18:15] A/)-Venus.: killing hundreds?
[29.11.2024 17:18:29] A/)-Venus.: You really did live under a rock...
[29.11.2024 17:18:50] Infernal: The idea that every junker clan cares for the affairs of one halfway across the sector is...
[29.11.2024 17:18:53] Infernal: Naive.
[29.11.2024 17:19:14] A/)-Venus.: I know you guys are segregated but not -that- segregated.
[29.11.2024 17:19:23] Infernal: We aren't. It's a matter of caring.
[29.11.2024 17:19:35] A/)-Venus.: hm...
[29.11.2024 17:19:45] A/)-Venus.: well they are a local criminal and terrorist group
[29.11.2024 17:20:04] A/)-Venus.: the local Junkers are in conflict with them due to the local smuggle routes
[29.11.2024 17:20:08] A/)-Venus.: and their market share.
[29.11.2024 17:20:13] Infernal: They sound like Hessians. Our problems are the same, our cares are not.
[29.11.2024 17:20:27] A/)-Venus.: Hessians are in conflict with the Junkers?
[29.11.2024 17:20:32] A/)-Venus.: I thought you guys were peaceful.
[29.11.2024 17:20:43] Infernal: Every petty group wants to stake a claim on rightful commerce.
[29.11.2024 17:20:57] Infernal: That we are not in open war does not exempt us from... 'taxation'.
[29.11.2024 17:21:19] A/)-Venus.: it's different here
[29.11.2024 17:21:29] A/)-Venus.: you'll be instantly shot, no questions asked
[29.11.2024 17:21:44] A/)-Venus.: they'd probably laugh as they'd gut you
[29.11.2024 17:21:52] Infernal: Dubiously noted.
[29.11.2024 17:22:18] A/)-Venus.: Ontario is a system they lay claim on, there is a Junker base too but they are not doing so great from what I heard.
[29.11.2024 17:22:37] A/)-Venus.: it'll give you shelter though, if you need it.
[29.11.2024 17:23:04] A/)-Venus.: say, since you're from the Walker region, did you frequent Ithaca often?
[29.11.2024 17:23:09] Infernal: I don't fancy flying into an open warzone for shelter, as it is. But thank you.
[29.11.2024 17:23:31] Infernal: No, my own sympathies lie with Bornholme.
[29.11.2024 17:23:50] A/)-Venus.: oh that little base in the middle of nowhere surrounded by wrecks?
[29.11.2024 17:24:10] A/)-Venus.: I've made some pitstops there in my days.
[29.11.2024 17:24:38] Infernal: The peaceful little haven with scores of free salvage? Yes, that's the one.
[29.11.2024 17:25:02] A/)-Venus.: Hm - that makes the way you talk even more suspicious
[29.11.2024 17:25:05] Infernal: Although most of us find our homes spacebound, on our own ships.
[29.11.2024 17:25:29] A/)-Venus.: do you live on that ship of yours or got something else?
[29.11.2024 17:25:44] Unsure about the regions listed in your ID? You can use the following command to access the full systems classification list - /helpmenu regions
[29.11.2024 17:25:45] Infernal: I prefer the open air of Planet Harris for the time being.
[29.11.2024 17:25:57] A/)-Venus.: oh is that why you were out there?
[29.11.2024 17:26:11] Infernal: The war salvage, yes.
[29.11.2024 17:26:23] A/)-Venus.: Better not be too loud about how you got that ship of yours then
[29.11.2024 17:26:32] A/)-Venus.: found anything fancy?
[29.11.2024 17:26:46] Infernal: That's not been my experience, the Bretonians have been quite helpful and welcominjg.
[29.11.2024 17:26:57] Infernal: Nothing you wouldn't find anywhere else yet.
[29.11.2024 17:27:02] A/)-Venus.: but you said you got it from some Bretonian son?
[29.11.2024 17:27:15] Infernal: Oh my, yes.
[29.11.2024 17:27:25] A/)-Venus.: sooo...?
[29.11.2024 17:27:26] Infernal: But that was somewhere else, in Newcastle.
[29.11.2024 17:27:38] A/)-Venus.: Bretonia is great with holding a grudge...
[29.11.2024 17:27:39] Infernal: No, that particular spoilsport is quite alive.
[29.11.2024 17:28:09] Infernal: Thankfully this transfer was quite legal, to say nothing of ethics.
[29.11.2024 17:28:23] A/)-Venus.: right a bribe does sound very legal.
[29.11.2024 17:28:29] Infernal: Any grudge would have to be extralegally, to which I would speculate I have the advantage.
[29.11.2024 17:29:07] Infernal: I would remind you that said bribe took place in Bretonia. They love those.
[29.11.2024 17:29:13] Infernal: It'
[29.11.2024 17:29:19] A/)-Venus.: Just becareful around Bretonia, they are known for making enemies because they are selfish.
[29.11.2024 17:29:22] Infernal: It's the proper ettiquette.
[29.11.2024 17:29:50] Infernal: Noted. Though I'm in no hurry to anger a house anyhow, much less Her Majesty.
[29.11.2024 17:29:56] A/)-Venus.: I really thought bribes belonged in Liberty but I've been hearing more about how Bretonia seems to also like them...
[29.11.2024 17:30:44] A/)-Venus.: I was moving some less than ideal good through the region when they pulled me over. Apparently some credits got them to
[29.11.2024 17:30:48] A/)-Venus.: change their mind fairly easily
[29.11.2024 17:31:07] Infernal: See? That's the value of politeness!
[29.11.2024 17:31:19] A/)-Venus.: I don't know
[29.11.2024 17:31:27] A/)-Venus.: loyal subjects shouldn't take bribes
[29.11.2024 17:31:31] Infernal: Thankfully it has an approximate credit value.
[29.11.2024 17:31:50] Infernal: And you would be some loyal subject of Her Majesty then?
[29.11.2024 17:31:59] A/)-Venus.: noooo~
[29.11.2024 17:32:00] Infernal: One smuggling unidentified contraband?
[29.11.2024 17:32:16] A/)-Venus.: I meant the police - they shouldn't accept bribes but they do
[29.11.2024 17:32:33] A/)-Venus.: The whole house hates us, nothing is going to change that any time soon.
[29.11.2024 17:32:59] Infernal: Are you truly not glad that you can bribe someone then?
[29.11.2024 17:33:05] Infernal: It's politeness.
[29.11.2024 17:33:20] Infernal: You were trespassing. You paid the price. All are well.
[29.11.2024 17:33:36] A/)-Venus.: hm yes but it does mean they are bad cops.
[29.11.2024 17:33:42] Anubis-1 was killed by Hiroko.Nakagawa (100%)
[29.11.2024 17:34:03] Infernal: I choose not to judge those by their professions.
[29.11.2024 17:34:12] Infernal: I can think of plenty of worse things.
[29.11.2024 17:34:23] Infernal: Poor cops are often good friends, as it were.
[29.11.2024 17:34:29] Infernal: Or, well, station security in my case.
[29.11.2024 17:34:36] A/)-Venus.: Never said it was a problem for me
[29.11.2024 17:34:56] Infernal: Then what were you saying?
[29.11.2024 17:35:04] A/)-Venus.: I just think they are bad cops and I expected more from Bretonia
[29.11.2024 17:35:17] A/)-Venus.: that it benefits me or that it makes them nice people is besides the point
[29.11.2024 17:35:33] Infernal: Were you expecting more from Bretonia, or the person?
[29.11.2024 17:35:38] A/)-Venus.: Bretonia.
[29.11.2024 17:35:47] Infernal: That officer was not all that is Bretonia.
[29.11.2024 17:35:56] A/)-Venus.: I know that.
[29.11.2024 17:35:56] Infernal: Not even Her Majesty can say she is.
[29.11.2024 17:36:21] A/)-Venus.: But as a House I thought they had their law enforcement and armed forces in check
[29.11.2024 17:36:26] A/)-Venus.: but they clearly don't
[29.11.2024 17:36:43] Infernal: Perhaps there's simply a utility in not shooting you.
[29.11.2024 17:37:00] Infernal: Namely, draining the credits of their enemies, and keeping an officer alive.
[29.11.2024 17:37:01] A/)-Venus.: hmh that's why we're on the wanted list.
[29.11.2024 17:37:22] A/)-Venus.: I think my cargo was a lot more important than a few credits.
[29.11.2024 17:37:38] Infernal: And a lone officer was going to take it all from you?
[29.11.2024 17:37:52] A/)-Venus.: They could have, it's not like I had much weaponary
[29.11.2024 17:38:09] Infernal: I know that Bretonians have been loose with the arms control lately, but I don't really see constables flying battleships.
[29.11.2024 17:38:21] A/)-Venus.: erhm
[29.11.2024 17:38:27] A/)-Venus.: I was in a little gas miner
[29.11.2024 17:38:51] Infernal: Maybe your cargo was simply meaned more to you than them?
[29.11.2024 17:38:53] A/)-Venus.: they'd snap it in half even with their small patrol crafts.
[29.11.2024 17:39:11] A/)-Venus.: I doubt that...
[29.11.2024 17:39:18] Infernal: I doubt an officer has much use for chemicals. What, are they running science experiments?
[29.11.2024 17:39:30] A/)-Venus.: They can confiscate it.
[29.11.2024 17:39:42] Infernal: They can also just take the credits.
[29.11.2024 17:39:53] Infernal: I would take the credits.
[29.11.2024 17:39:59] A/)-Venus.: yeah but that means they can be bought
[29.11.2024 17:40:12] A/)-Venus.: and if they can be bought for something simple they can be bought for bigger things as well
[29.11.2024 17:40:15] A/)-Venus.: if the price is right
[29.11.2024 17:40:40] Infernal: It truly pains me to break that hope of yours, but we all have a price.
[29.11.2024 17:40:41] A/)-Venus.: if you want to be a good officer to your house, you shouldn't get yourself bought
[29.11.2024 17:40:47] Infernal: Maybe not for credits, but we all do.
[29.11.2024 17:41:01] A/)-Venus.: that's just your point of view.
[29.11.2024 17:41:15] Infernal: A view made from experience.
[29.11.2024 17:41:21] Infernal: In bribery, as it were.
[29.11.2024 17:41:40] A/)-Venus.: never too old to learn something new.
[29.11.2024 17:41:55] A/)-Venus.: and I mean you by that.
[29.11.2024 17:42:24] Infernal: I am not hopeless. I would simply prefer to know the reality that all those I would rely on have weaknesses that can be-
[29.11.2024 17:42:26] Infernal: Satisfied.
[29.11.2024 17:42:48] Infernal: Oh, well then, safe skies to you to. Rather rude, that.
[29.11.2024 17:42:53] A/)-Venus.: hehe...
[29.11.2024 17:43:06] A/)-Venus.: I wasn't leaving
[29.11.2024 17:43:30] Infernal: I, however, am. I am returning to Harris. Accompany me if you wish.
[29.11.2024 17:43:41] A/)-Venus.: so who's being rude?
[29.11.2024 17:44:10] Infernal: Would you truly prefer to continue this conversation in the middle of nowhere?
[29.11.2024 17:44:20] A/)-Venus.: I don't mind
[29.11.2024 17:44:24] A/)-Venus.: it's peaceful
[29.11.2024 17:44:28] Infernal: The rock was pretty. Profitable, even. And I thank you for that.
[29.11.2024 17:44:41] A/)-Venus.: profitable?
[29.11.2024 17:44:46] A/)-Venus.: not a word I'd have used...
[29.11.2024 17:44:46] Infernal: Maybe.
[29.11.2024 17:45:18] A/)-Venus.: So, since you're a Junker, are you a good mechanic too?
[29.11.2024 17:45:31] A/)-Venus.: or do you think I'm rude again for assuming this?
[29.11.2024 17:45:37] Infernal: You are not. It is our way.
[29.11.2024 17:45:47] Infernal: I can pass.
[29.11.2024 17:45:52] A/)-Venus.: hm
[29.11.2024 17:46:02] Infernal: I am not the best, to be transparent.
[29.11.2024 17:46:23] Infernal: Cobbling the detritus of the void never made as much sense as proper tools to me.
[29.11.2024 17:46:28] A/)-Venus.: We're not flying to the Jumphole...
[29.11.2024 17:46:48] A/)-Venus.: Are you distracted by something?
[29.11.2024 17:46:58] Infernal: These are unfamiliar skies.
[29.11.2024 17:47:06] Infernal: I neglected my navmap in my haste to respond.
[29.11.2024 17:47:08] A/)-Venus.: hm, fine.
[29.11.2024 17:47:15] A/)-Venus.: in such a rush then...?
[29.11.2024 17:47:35] A/)-Venus.: so, would it be rude if I assumed you like money?
[29.11.2024 17:47:49] Infernal: It would be positively unforgiveable if you did not.
[29.11.2024 17:48:07] A/)-Venus.: heh...
[29.11.2024 17:48:15] A/)-Venus.: right - I might have a job for you
[29.11.2024 17:48:25] A/)-Venus.: but I need to work out some details
[29.11.2024 17:48:33] A/)-Venus.: it's a shame you lack true mechanic skills though
[29.11.2024 17:48:34] Infernal: As for my rush, the clouds make me... claustrophobic, we'll say, sometimes.
[29.11.2024 17:48:46] A/)-Venus.: that's a weird... habit?
[29.11.2024 17:48:49] Infernal: I did not mean to say I lacked.
[29.11.2024 17:48:59] Infernal: Merely that I am not as experienced as our own finest.
[29.11.2024 17:49:01] A/)-Venus.: you're from the omega's those clouds are much more disturbing.
[29.11.2024 17:49:07] Infernal: Yes, they are.
[29.11.2024 17:49:11] Infernal: Very much so.
[29.11.2024 17:49:17] Infernal: An experience I do not relish.
[29.11.2024 17:49:24] A/)-Venus.: hm, well here is the thing
[29.11.2024 17:49:25] Infernal: So then you surely understand.
[29.11.2024 17:49:38] A/)-Venus.: I obstained some robotics, limbs if you will
[29.11.2024 17:49:54] Infernal: Prostheses?
[29.11.2024 17:50:04] A/)-Venus.: I need someone to analyze them for me.
[29.11.2024 17:50:06] A/)-Venus.: yes
[29.11.2024 17:50:21] Infernal: And these are of what origin?
[29.11.2024 17:50:28] A/)-Venus.: that's for you to find out
[29.11.2024 17:50:37] A/)-Venus.: as well as how capable they are
[29.11.2024 17:50:56] A/)-Venus.: do you think you can do that?
[29.11.2024 17:51:04] Infernal: That sounds within my capabilities. I make no warranties, as always.
[29.11.2024 17:51:20] Infernal: If you need them intact, you need to say so now.
[29.11.2024 17:51:30] Infernal: Deconstruction is destructive by nature.
[29.11.2024 17:51:43] A/)-Venus.: It's a batch, just don't destroy all of them
[29.11.2024 17:52:02] A/)-Venus.: What rate would you charge me with?
[29.11.2024 17:52:24] Infernal: Send me the details. I'll return a quote, as is in common trade.
[29.11.2024 17:52:36] A/)-Venus.: Alright.
[29.11.2024 17:53:00] A/)-Venus.: We'd probably have to do the handover on Halifax.
[29.11.2024 17:53:11] A/)-Venus.: do you know where that is?
[29.11.2024 17:53:19] Infernal: The name is familiar, but not the location.
[29.11.2024 17:53:25] A/)-Venus.: It's in Leeds
[29.11.2024 17:53:36] Infernal: I'll find my way.
[29.11.2024 17:53:51] A/)-Venus.: In the north part of the western smog cloud.
[29.11.2024 17:54:01] Infernal: Noted.
[29.11.2024 17:54:20] A/)-Venus.: I'll see if I can make a proper job description for you.
[29.11.2024 17:54:37] Infernal: Any information about the materials would be most beneficial as well.
[29.11.2024 17:54:49] A/)-Venus.: Well, I don't know much about it to be honest
[29.11.2024 17:54:53] Infernal: If I came up with the wrong answer, I would be positively livid.
[29.11.2024 17:54:55] A/)-Venus.: they were a ... gift.
[29.11.2024 17:55:36] Infernal: I am sure you will find something to send me. If that's all?
[29.11.2024 17:55:40] A/)-Venus.: you can always screw them onto your own body if my money isn't worth it.
[29.11.2024 17:55:51] A/)-Venus.: that would be all
[29.11.2024 17:55:51] Infernal: Your money is worth it, I promise you.
[29.11.2024 17:56:03] Infernal: Assuming your accounts are, anyway.
[29.11.2024 17:56:08] A/)-Venus.: we'll see if you can do mechanics as well as you talk.
[29.11.2024 17:56:26] Infernal: But a simple deconstruction, I would warrant, won't be so damaging.
[29.11.2024 17:56:27] A/)-Venus.: Hello, N- Unit.
[29.11.2024 17:56:54] A/)-Venus.: you better go now.
[29.11.2024 17:56:59] Infernal: As I will regardless.
[29.11.2024 17:57:02] Infernal: Ciao.
[29.11.2024 17:57:03] A/)-Venus.: We'll talk later, Aden.

[29.11.2024 18:02:11] Infernal: Salutations, Interspace.
[29.11.2024 18:02:26] Onion.Monument: Howdy, Junker!

[29.11.2024 18:05:32] BMF|Ebejer: Greetings Officer
[29.11.2024 18:05:43] [CDI-Intern]Miss_Maya: Good day
[29.11.2024 18:05:44] Infernal: Salutations, Officer Maya. Lovely to see you again, Steiner or no.
[29.11.2024 18:06:06] BMF|Ebejer: Steiner is a great name
[29.11.2024 18:06:19] [CDI-Intern]Miss_Maya: Ah i remember you. So you got a job in the end i guess ?
[29.11.2024 18:06:21] Infernal: Is it now? I was unaware.
[29.11.2024 18:06:24] BMF|Ebejer: Known across Sirius i believe
[29.11.2024 18:06:44] Infernal: That particular job is unfortunately pending, I am here on another.
[29.11.2024 18:06:50] BMF|Ebejer: So its seems
[29.11.2024 18:07:04] [CDI-Intern]Miss_Maya: Well its good to something regardless
[29.11.2024 18:07:11] Infernal: Perhaps you could help me,
[29.11.2024 18:07:30] Infernal: I am seeking some precision machine implements. What vendor would I speak to about purchasing them?
[29.11.2024 18:07:33] Infernal: Legally, of course.
[29.11.2024 18:08:20] [CDI-Intern]Miss_Maya: And for what purpose do you want these implements ?
[29.11.2024 18:08:41] Infernal: I was hired by an associate to perform an inspection on some medical devices.
[29.11.2024 18:08:54] Infernal: Unfortunately, I feel that the traditional methods would fail me in that regard.
[29.11.2024 18:10:03] [CDI-Intern]Miss_Maya: Well if its medical equipment you need, have you tried cambridge ?
[29.11.2024 18:10:27] Infernal: It is not. I require fabrication equipment. Drills, screwdrivers, that sort of thing.
[29.11.2024 18:10:48] Infernal: The types of things you would see in a machine shop, though maybe not a Junker one.
[29.11.2024 18:11:13] [CDI-Intern]Miss_Maya: So industrial materials of any kind in a way ?
[29.11.2024 18:11:21] Infernal: Mm. I suppose that's a start.
[29.11.2024 18:12:39] [CDI-Intern]Miss_Maya: Well you could fly over to Manchester, in particular Scarborough Shipyard. They tend to have a good range of all tools
[29.11.2024 18:12:51] Infernal: Very well. Thank you, officer.
[29.11.2024 18:13:03] [CDI-Intern]Miss_Maya: Have a safe trip and enjoy your day.

MADMAN

My dealings with Miss Venus have proven strugglingly complex already.

The exchange of goods was held at Halifax, as indicated by contract. Unfortunately, the local flavor has proven less an amenable to our presence.

There was a madman who took issue to my companions. First, the Rheinlander, self-obsessed with their own conflicts as they always are. Then with Venus. When we attempted to make our retreat to safeguard her prize, he attacked her. I, prudently, chose to further the both of our interests and continue on the path to Tau. Evidently, things are well with her.

The madman had some talk of Hessian legends. Being the man that I am, I take great interest in such things. Unfortunately all he had was talk of thralls and wildlings. No doubt driven mad by the likes of my own hauntings.

I should need to prepare for the task ahead. Those Bretonians I met should have the relevant tools to begin a technospy.

[30.11.2024 16:26:52] A/)-Venus,: Hello. Gaian.
[30.11.2024 16:27:06] Flora: Hello.
[30.11.2024 16:27:39] Flora: Am I interrupting?
[30.11.2024 16:27:54] A/)-Venus,: hm... a little but it's not too important what we were talking about
[30.11.2024 16:27:56] (=)"Eyes.Of.Entropy": CS: Not really for myself.
[30.11.2024 16:28:09] TS-Brass: My densest apologies for my lateness, Miss Venus.
[30.11.2024 16:28:16] Flora: Great. And what are we talking about?
[30.11.2024 16:28:16] A/)-Venus,: Oh, it's you.
[30.11.2024 16:28:48] A/)-Venus,: You two can chat, I got some business to handle.
[30.11.2024 16:28:51] (=)"Eyes.Of.Entropy": CS: You care much for our industrial dystopia we call 'Rheinland', Gaian?
[30.11.2024 16:28:56] A/)-Venus,: Don't worry about being late.
[30.11.2024 16:29:02] A/)-Venus,: Do you still have questions?
[30.11.2024 16:29:04] Flora: Maybe a little bit. Why?
[30.11.2024 16:29:24] TS-Brass: A plethora. Starting with what you expect to find.
[30.11.2024 16:29:42] A/)-Venus,: Unlike you, we don't see eye-to-eye with the Corsairs.
[30.11.2024 16:30:02] A/)-Venus,: So I don't trust their gifts and I'd rather have someone who might be familiar with their tech look at it
[30.11.2024 16:30:06] (=)"Eyes.Of.Entropy": CS: Well... It all depends, what would you like to know?
[30.11.2024 16:30:14] A/)-Venus,: I'm sure you got Junker friends who are more familiar with it?
[30.11.2024 16:30:14] TS-Brass: I never said I did. But we all must pay the price of doing business.
[30.11.2024 16:30:31] TS-Brass: Maybe, though I would prefer the deal to myself for now.
[30.11.2024 16:30:36] Flora: There's a Hessian legend, I believe you should be familiar with.
[30.11.2024 16:30:43] A/)-Venus,: The thing is - I think they might have toyed with these things. So if we were to try them out, bad things could happen
[30.11.2024 16:30:46] Flora: I heard it on Darmstadt, a long time ago.
[30.11.2024 16:30:50] Flora: The Hunt, as they call it.
[30.11.2024 16:30:51] TS-Brass: Ah. Hessian legends. This will be fun.
[30.11.2024 16:30:56] Flora: Know anything about that?
[30.11.2024 16:30:58] TS-Brass: Hold the thought.
[30.11.2024 16:31:02] TS-Brass: I want to hear this.
[30.11.2024 16:31:07] (=)"Eyes.Of.Entropy": CS: Ah /Treasure seeking/ are we?
[30.11.2024 16:31:08] A/)-Venus,: Okay...
[30.11.2024 16:31:14] TS-Brass: Treasure!
[30.11.2024 16:31:22] Flora: No, we're just talking.
[30.11.2024 16:31:26] Flora: For now, at least.
[30.11.2024 16:31:47] TS-Brass: Mm. You said you suspected tampering. To what end?
[30.11.2024 16:32:12] (=)"Eyes.Of.Entropy": CS: The Rhein does enjoy its fragile void seeking... Although maybe we're just 'blessed' to have so many of them.
[30.11.2024 16:32:13] TS-Brass: Tampering with regard to you, or another victim?
[30.11.2024 16:32:30] Flora: I'll take it as a roundabout yes.
[30.11.2024 16:32:36] A/)-Venus,: I don't know. It could be laced with melicious code, contain a virus or spyware.
[30.11.2024 16:32:45] A/)-Venus,: As I said, we don't see eye to eye with the Corsairs.
[30.11.2024 16:32:54] TS-Brass: And yet they gave you a gift?
[30.11.2024 16:32:55] A/)-Venus,: So I want their gift to be checked before we do anything with it
[30.11.2024 16:33:22] (=)"Eyes.Of.Entropy": CS: Hmm, Usually i try to stay away from such man-made monstrosities, a collection of dangerous radiactive waste scrap.
[30.11.2024 16:33:33] A/)-Venus,: I'd rather have you look at beforehand, before I show it around at home.
[30.11.2024 16:33:50] Flora: I get the feeling we're no longer talking about the same thing.
[30.11.2024 16:33:57] Flora: So why don't we loop back to my original question.
[30.11.2024 16:34:04] Flora: Perhaps you could answer it with a simple yes or not this time?
[30.11.2024 16:34:06] A/)-Venus,: You're getting paid to convince me it's all safe and sound and won't explode in our face.
[30.11.2024 16:34:07] TS-Brass: Agreeable. Unless there's anything else, shall we commence the transfer of title?
[30.11.2024 16:34:33] (=)"Eyes.Of.Entropy": CS: /Hard to do unfortunately for me./
[30.11.2024 16:34:48] Flora: It's three letters at best. Try it.
[30.11.2024 16:35:08] A/)-Venus,: You can try to sell it on the black market for even more profit but I'd like to think that earning our trust might be
[30.11.2024 16:35:12] A/)-Venus,: more valuable to you
[30.11.2024 16:35:25] A/)-Venus,: who knows - maybe there are more jobs that could earn you the big bucks.
[30.11.2024 16:35:39] A/)-Venus,: Take your time with the report.
[30.11.2024 16:35:42] TS-Brass: I would take offense at the implication, but the concern is note unfounded.
[30.11.2024 16:36:19] Flora: Okay, I see I'm not getting anything out of you.
[30.11.2024 16:36:20] TS-Brass: The investigations will commence as soon as I have made something of a laboratory.
[30.11.2024 16:36:23] (=)"Eyes.Of.Entropy": CS: Well, for someone seeking that information, what do you know so far?
[30.11.2024 16:36:40] Flora: The more important thing is what I don't know.
[30.11.2024 16:36:43] A/)-Venus,: Very well.
[30.11.2024 16:36:52] Flora: For example, I don't know why you're here with a member of the Hunt. Casually chatting with them.
[30.11.2024 16:37:06] Flora: It's a long way to Rheinland from here.
[30.11.2024 16:37:08] A/)-Venus,: Don't hesitate to call me if you need a hand with something.
[30.11.2024 16:37:14] TS-Brass: Is that in reference to you, then? The hunt?
[30.11.2024 16:37:26] A/)-Venus,: A member of the Hunt?
[30.11.2024 16:37:38] Flora: Oh, don't play coy now.
[30.11.2024 16:37:39] (=)"Eyes.Of.Entropy": CS: /Its a freeport./ And a member of 'The Hunt'?
[30.11.2024 16:37:51] A/)-Venus,: Am I a member of the Hunt?
[30.11.2024 16:37:54] (=)"Eyes.Of.Entropy": CS: I must update my lexicon... All these new names, something I need to keep on top of.
[30.11.2024 16:37:55] Flora: A Wild, an infiltrator, thrall, useful idiot. Any of those ring a bell?
[30.11.2024 16:38:24] (=)"Eyes.Of.Entropy": CS: Thats a little extensive.
[30.11.2024 16:38:26] A/)-Venus,: I have no idea what they are talking about.
[30.11.2024 16:38:37] Flora: You're dodging the question and I don't like that.
[30.11.2024 16:38:39] A/)-Venus,: I've never been to this Darmstadt they were talking about
[30.11.2024 16:39:08] (=)"Eyes.Of.Entropy": CS: Have to... If you don't want the thralls to grasp your answers like a handle and paint everything you know--
[30.11.2024 16:39:11] TS-Brass: I suppose the wildlings must be scaring more than the usual then.
[30.11.2024 16:39:21] A/)-Venus,: oh by the way, don't forget that bonus for any parts that we can still use and are not destroyed.
[30.11.2024 16:39:31] (=)"Eyes.Of.Entropy": CS: Out onto what I could only described as 'throwing papers into a crowd of malicious souls.'
[30.11.2024 16:39:53] TS-Brass: Understood. Perhaps you should show me my way to Harris, seeing as this madman may want your cargo.
[30.11.2024 16:39:58] Flora: Or you can just kill them. It seems to work a lot better than riddlespeak.
[30.11.2024 16:40:05] Flora: But maybe I just don't know any better.
[30.11.2024 16:40:16] A/)-Venus,: You think?
[30.11.2024 16:40:23] A/)-Venus,: Very well, I'll fly you there
[30.11.2024 16:40:29] TS-Brass: More to destroy it, than anything else.
[30.11.2024 16:40:33] Flora: But if you're not willing to answer the question, fine.
[30.11.2024 16:40:37] Flora: I'll just put you on the list.
[30.11.2024 16:40:44] A/)-Venus,: oh
[30.11.2024 16:40:46] Flora: Oh, not so fast.
[30.11.2024 16:40:53] A/)-Venus,: That's rude
[30.11.2024 16:40:55] Flora: Actually, good call.

CAREFUL CONSTABULARY

A patient people, these constables.

In my haste to procure the implements of my task, I journeyed to London. It was there that I found the "Hero" of New London himself, Sergeant Pickering, in dubious combat with a pirate cruiser. The officer needed some encouragement to deal with the reprobate (as well as some timely reinforcements), but in the end the reprobate was slain. In exchange for my silence on the matter of drink, the officers left what remained of the wreck to my capable hands.

While there was little of use for my own devices, the remains were traded on Trafalgar for various inventions (namely an elder NeuralNet broadnode). I still need to acquire the appropriate adapters and furnishings for my work.

[30.11.2024 20:03:13] Infernal: Salu- oh my.
[30.11.2024 20:03:52] CDI)Sgt-Bob.Pickering: You're heavily damaged and ... hell I'm not payed enough for this
[30.11.2024 20:04:53] CDI)Sgt-Bob.Pickering: lets boot up those cruise engines, and cruise back to whatever hole you came from captain...
[30.11.2024 20:05:15] Infernal: I'm not positive he understood that, constable.
[30.11.2024 20:05:32] CDI)Sgt-Bob.Pickering: Right, we seem to have a tad of a predicament
[30.11.2024 20:05:49] CDI)Sgt-Bob.Pickering: Stop shooting me would you!
[30.11.2024 20:06:02] Infernal: Surely you Bretonians have prevailed on worse odds?
[30.11.2024 20:06:12] Infernal: I think you can take him.
[30.11.2024 20:06:23] CDI)Sgt-Bob.Pickering: I have my doubts
[30.11.2024 20:06:29] CDI)Sgt-Bob.Pickering: Listen erh...
[30.11.2024 20:06:40] CDI)Sgt-Bob.Pickering: You might not see it, but you are most surely surrounded skipper
[30.11.2024 20:06:49] Infernal: Most surely.
[30.11.2024 20:06:53] CDI)Sgt-Bob.Pickering: I suggest you get out of here, and stop shooting at me
[30.11.2024 20:07:18] CDI)Sgt-Bob.Pickering: Do we... even speak the same language?
[30.11.2024 20:07:56] CDI)Sgt-Bob.Pickering: Oh dear
[30.11.2024 20:08:02] Infernal: Unsporting.
[30.11.2024 20:08:10] Infernal: More to the point, /impolite/.
[30.11.2024 20:08:32] Infernal: I suppose I shall do my own part in the civic duties.
[30.11.2024 20:08:39] CDI)Sgt-Bob.Pickering: Right, this has gone on long enough, I am calling in reinforcements
[30.11.2024 20:09:35] Infernal: Surely we need no rescue the Rheinlanders, constable?
[30.11.2024 20:09:55] CDI)Sgt-Bob.Pickering: I erh...
[30.11.2024 20:10:26] CDI)Sgt-Bob.Pickering: well, it seems he is cruising out of here
[30.11.2024 20:12:46] Infernal: Ah. He will be trapped in the debris. You have him now!
[30.11.2024 20:13:06] CDI)Sgt-Bob.Pickering: I erh... I guess I am just going to try and maintain a secure perimeter around it
[30.11.2024 20:13:23] Infernal: Nonsense, Her Majesty gave you the weapons you need. Use them!
[30.11.2024 20:14:03] CDI)Sgt-Bob.Pickering: Oh dear.. is it turning around?
[30.11.2024 20:14:12] Infernal: Oh now, that is truly not acceptable.
[30.11.2024 20:14:24] Infernal: This is why I don't associate with Trafalgar.
[30.11.2024 20:14:47] CDI)Sgt-Bob.Pickering: well, no longer my problem!
[30.11.2024 20:15:14] CDI)Sgt-Bob.Pickering: The things you see sometimes ey?
[30.11.2024 20:15:42] Infernal: Hardly. I expected a constable to get into a proper scrap, as you say.
[30.11.2024 20:16:06] CDI)Sgt-Bob.Pickering: Erh... not for my wage
[30.11.2024 20:18:29] Infernal: Are these sorts of incidents common to the realm now?
[30.11.2024 20:18:42] CDI)Sgt-Bob.Pickering: *slurps his coffee* all the time
[30.11.2024 20:19:06] CDI)Sgt-Bob.Pickering: We do what we can, with what we have, I'm sure you can relate to that sentiment
[30.11.2024 20:19:23] Infernal: Maybe.
[30.11.2024 20:19:44] CDI)Sgt-Bob.Pickering: Right, you seem to be doing well for yourself though
[30.11.2024 20:19:53] Infernal: Although I'm sure Her Majesty might want to have a word with the likes of the Constable who was responsible for such a...
[30.11.2024 20:20:06] Infernal: 'Breach in Orbital Ettiquette'.
[30.11.2024 20:20:38] CDI)Sgt-Bob.Pickering: Breach in orbital etiquette? I think it was handled quite well
[30.11.2024 20:21:05] CDI)Sgt-Bob.Pickering: I've managed to stave off an enemy warship, whilst in danger of my own life, without firing a single shot
[30.11.2024 20:21:32] Infernal: Yes, I'm quite willing to testify to that. The not firing a shot on an enemy warship part.
[30.11.2024 20:21:53] Infernal: It was unshielded! You could have taken it!
[30.11.2024 20:26:07] CDI)Sgt-Bob.Pickering: Right... bloody ion storms
[30.11.2024 20:26:40] CDI)Sgt-Bob.Pickering: As I was saying... were I a member of the armed forces, I'd be most willing to open fire on that foreign warship
[30.11.2024 20:27:02] Infernal: Ah. So that's why you chose the constabulary then.
[30.11.2024 20:27:09] CDI)Sgt-Bob.Pickering: But I am a constable, a member of the CDI. We are trained in de-escalation
[30.11.2024 20:27:31] Infernal: Was that before or after the passenger liner blew up?
[30.11.2024 20:27:37] CDI)Sgt-Bob.Pickering: We try to minimize damages, and erh... de-escalate situations
[30.11.2024 20:27:57] Infernal: I am positively terrified of the bigger tragedy you prevented, then.
[30.11.2024 20:27:58] CDI)Sgt-Bob.Pickering: These things happen, the things you see on the beat... well
[30.11.2024 20:28:02] CDI)Sgt-Bob.Pickering: You do what you can
[30.11.2024 20:29:09] CDI)Sgt-Bob.Pickering: besides, have you seen the ship they've assigned me to? the fuselage is made out of plastic...
[30.11.2024 20:29:49] CDI)Sgt-Bob.Pickering: Anyhow erh...
[30.11.2024 20:29:50] Infernal: I assumed it was a matter of taste. The charters are nothing if not renowned for their lack of restraint.
[30.11.2024 20:30:04] Infernal: Militarization-wise, anyway.
[30.11.2024 20:30:17] CDI)Sgt-Bob.Pickering: hmn... could you elaborate on that?
[30.11.2024 20:30:32] Infernal: Would you care to take a fly to Dublin, then?
[30.11.2024 20:31:21] Infernal: One Mister Steiner that I was conversing with was quite clear that the friendly faces of BMM are not what they were.
[30.11.2024 20:31:30] CDI)Sgt-Bob.Pickering: What's in Dublin?
[30.11.2024 20:31:45] CDI)Sgt-Bob.Pickering: Steiner? isn't he some big whig businessman?
[30.11.2024 20:32:09] Infernal: That would be news to me. I met him as an officer of the armed forces, and group therapy member.
[30.11.2024 20:32:12] CDI)Sgt-Bob.Pickering: Victor...Right? I think I've read about him on the neural net once or twice
[30.11.2024 20:32:27] CDI)Sgt-Bob.Pickering: group therapy member?
[30.11.2024 20:33:09] CDI)Sgt-Bob.Pickering: Not again...
[30.11.2024 20:33:30] CDI)Sgt-Bob.Pickering: Right.. I've had quite enough of you skipper
[30.11.2024 20:33:33] Infernal: I would elaborate on the lovely therapist personnel the GF company offers, but you seem to be busy.
[30.11.2024 20:34:47] CDI)Sgt-Bob.Pickering: I'm getting reinforcements
[30.11.2024 20:38:52] Infernal: Salutations, officer. Where has the Sergeant run off to, then?
[30.11.2024 20:39:14] CDI)SC-Eileen.Harding: Back to Canterbury, I think!
[30.11.2024 20:39:48] CDI)SC-Eileen.Harding: I'm here to help!
[30.11.2024 20:40:05] CDI)SC-Eileen.Harding: That's a big ship...
[30.11.2024 20:40:16] Infernal: De-escalation, sergeant! You need to be kinder, like before!
[30.11.2024 20:40:20] CDI)SC-Eileen.Harding: Pickering, I'm powering up, um, getting ready to engage!
[30.11.2024 20:40:33] CDI)SC-Eileen.Harding: Bombs ready!
[30.11.2024 20:41:08] CDI)Sgt-Bob.Pickering**: these bloody torpedos don't seem to do much, be careful constable!
[30.11.2024 20:41:12] CDI)SC-Eileen.Harding: I will!
[30.11.2024 20:41:20] Death: Mustafa_bin_Mollyn was put out of action by a hostile vessel.
[30.11.2024 20:41:36] Infernal: Suffice to say that the present company is no longer protected by Her Majesty's law, constables?
[30.11.2024 20:41:49] CDI)SC-Eileen.Harding: You're free to help, sir!
[30.11.2024 20:42:06] Infernal: Captain! Stand and deliver! Hand over all of your valuables and loot, now!

[30.11.2024 20:44:00] CDI)SC-Eileen.Harding: He clipped me!
[30.11.2024 20:45:29] CDI)HMC-Tamworth: A: What the hell?!
[30.11.2024 20:45:31] Infernal: I would like to remind present company that yours truly is offering relocation services for any shot-down pilots.
[30.11.2024 20:45:36] CDI)SC-Eileen.Harding: Sergeant Appletree sir!
[30.11.2024 20:45:37] Death: Neville was put out of action by a hostile vessel.

[30.11.2024 20:48:16] Infernal: I want that scrap!

[30.11.2024 20:48:46] CDI)SC-Eileen.Harding: My neutralizers are dry, sergeants!

PAST THEIR PRIME

Mister Steiner is quite the surprise. I had inklings of his position in the firmament, but nothing so grand as a spymaster in the war.

He spent the afternoon exchanging the news of the day with me and one Miss Winters; wildlings, pirate cruisers, madmen, and the like. I should need to send him more useful evidence sometime.

Another 'player' in the game was present, one Silverstone. What a rude little man.

More players still, the local 'fauna' was in attendance. A Gaian, of all things, took issue, and was promptly subject to the wrath of them. Evidently Steiner had words with this 'diplomatic dispatch'.

I was fortunate to join a Bowex convoy and negotiate a suitable contract for my workshop. Things are on the upswing.

Still, I can't help but think of legends lately.

[02.12.2024 18:39:04] BAF|HMS-Raven: Hail.
[02.12.2024 18:39:05] GF:LOG)-Largy: Very good.
[02.12.2024 18:39:07] GF:LOG)-Largy: Good evening.
[02.12.2024 19:00:47] Infernal: Salutations once again, Mister Steiner.
[02.12.2024 19:01:05] Victor.Steiner: Oh, master Infernal.
[02.12.2024 19:01:21] Victor.Steiner: How are we?
[02.12.2024 19:01:32] Infernal: Middling. Not meddling.
[02.12.2024 19:01:42] Victor.Steiner: There is a difference?
[02.12.2024 19:01:54] BMF|Jock.Stewart: Jock : Good day
[02.12.2024 19:01:58] Infernal: One is melancholy, unfortunately.
[02.12.2024 19:02:04] Infernal: Salutations, company man.
[02.12.2024 19:02:29] BMF|Jock.Stewart: Jock : Hello there
[02.12.2024 19:02:36] Victor.Steiner: BMF
[02.12.2024 19:02:42] BMF|Jock.Stewart: BAF
[02.12.2024 19:02:47] Victor.Steiner: Tell me your thoughts infernal.
[02.12.2024 19:03:06] Infernal: I think that you Londoners are a very strange people in your mannerisms, given the current instance.
[02.12.2024 19:03:24] Victor.Steiner: I'm not from New London. For reference.
[02.12.2024 19:03:32] Infernal: You are here all the same.
[02.12.2024 19:03:50] Victor.Steiner: Well yes, I have spent some time here, true enough
[02.12.2024 19:03:51] Infernal: Although I suppose that would make me one as well.
[02.12.2024 19:04:14] Victor.Steiner: What has you so...mm, reserved?
[02.12.2024 19:04:24] Infernal: A roadblock, of sorts.
[02.12.2024 19:04:28] Victor.Steiner: And how, may I ask, are New Londoners different?
[02.12.2024 19:04:35] Victor.Steiner: A Roadblock?
[02.12.2024 19:04:42] Infernal: Business first, or the news of the day?
[02.12.2024 19:04:51] Victor.Steiner: Either all.
[02.12.2024 19:04:55] Infernal: News then.
[02.12.2024 19:05:02] Infernal: You are familiar with the provisional constabulary?
[02.12.2024 19:05:19] Victor.Steiner: The CDI? Not had the pleasure just yet, but by reputation.
[02.12.2024 19:05:35] Infernal: A mixed, if surpising, group.
[02.12.2024 19:05:43] Victor.Steiner: So I'm told.
[02.12.2024 19:06:05] Infernal: I've heard accusations of corruption and impropriety, yet I have had a different experience entirely.
[02.12.2024 19:06:17] Victor.Steiner: Positive experiences?
[02.12.2024 19:06:26] Infernal: Entirely, as it turns.
[02.12.2024 19:06:34] Victor.Steiner: Good, I'm glad.
[02.12.2024 19:06:45] Infernal: Just the other day, a reaver bore down on the lane to Canterbury.
[02.12.2024 19:06:50] Rules Tip: A single player running two or more instances of Freelancer is against server rules and is regarded as cheating.
[02.12.2024 19:07:11] Infernal: The constable needed some encouragement from yours truly and turned it away once. To those distatefuls in Trafalgar.
[02.12.2024 19:07:29] Infernal: It returned and was destroyed with effort by a trio of them.
[02.12.2024 19:07:41] Victor.Steiner: *laughs* your kinfolk, if I remember rightly.
[02.12.2024 19:08:03] Infernal: Damnable Kusari.
[02.12.2024 19:08:11] Infernal: Yes, though I don't associate for the reasons provided.
[02.12.2024 19:08:40] Infernal: Still, no small task taking on a pirate destroyer.
[02.12.2024 19:09:02] Victor.Steiner: I see, well it is good to hear they are doing their jobs effectively
[02.12.2024 19:09:41] Infernal: As for my own troubles, my issues lie in the furnishing of my lodge.
[02.12.2024 19:09:56] Victor.Steiner: This 'Vault' you mentioned?
[02.12.2024 19:10:05] Infernal: Yes, though that has yet to be opened.
[02.12.2024 19:10:39] Victor.Steiner: Still lacking employment eh?
[02.12.2024 19:11:13] Infernal: Not so much. Though I would gladly take on additional tasks.
[02.12.2024 19:11:35] Victor.Steiner: Oh you found work? Good for you. Something worthwhile I hope?
[02.12.2024 19:11:47] Victor.Steiner: BMM is always hiring, well, they were last I checked.
[02.12.2024 19:11:50] Infernal: It has yet to pan out.
[02.12.2024 19:11:56] GF:SEC)-Susan.Winters: Always. Never enough people.
[02.12.2024 19:12:08] Victor.Steiner: Never enough people, there you go.
[02.12.2024 19:12:16] Infernal: Is that so? I sent a message off to your mister Nero offering my services some time ago. I never heard back.
[02.12.2024 19:12:22] GF:SEC)-Susan.Winters: Nero is...
[02.12.2024 19:12:30] GF:SEC)-Susan.Winters: Insufferable, I think the word is.
[02.12.2024 19:12:44] Infernal: I find him quite interesting. Do you need a minder for him?
[02.12.2024 19:12:45] Victor.Steiner: Rather harsh, don't you think?
[02.12.2024 19:12:57] GF:SEC)-Susan.Winters: Speak with him and you'll find out.
[02.12.2024 19:13:03] Infernal: I have. It was quite enlightening.
[02.12.2024 19:13:58] Victor.Steiner: If he is so difficult to get along with, why employ him?
[02.12.2024 19:14:08] GF:SEC)-Susan.Winters: Hey, hey. I'm not the one making the decisions.
[02.12.2024 19:14:19] Infernal: I was under the impression that his loyalties lie with human resources. He would be quite hard to fire.
[02.12.2024 19:14:24] GF:SEC)-Susan.Winters: BMM is huge, man.
[02.12.2024 19:14:25] Victor.Steiner: Ah, you just have to work with him, is that it?
[02.12.2024 19:14:29] GF:SEC)-Susan.Winters: You got it.
[02.12.2024 19:14:34] Victor.Steiner: Unlucky.
[02.12.2024 19:14:39] Infernal: What subsidary do you work for?
[02.12.2024 19:14:53] GF:SEC)-Susan.Winters: Galway Frontiers. Security division.
[02.12.2024 19:14:56] Victor.Steiner: Oi..
[02.12.2024 19:15:10] Victor.Steiner: OI
[02.12.2024 19:15:12] 2024-12-02 19:15:12 SMT Traffic control alert: DemeteHr.23 has docked
[02.12.2024 19:15:19] GF:SEC)-Susan.Winters: What is it with Whales and contraband...
[02.12.2024 19:15:19] Victor.Steiner: *Sigh*
[02.12.2024 19:15:44] Victor.Steiner: Well, I suppose that'll be me for the next three days
[02.12.2024 19:15:46] GF:SEC)-Susan.Winters: Kusari for you.
[02.12.2024 19:15:52] Victor.Steiner: Indeed.
[02.12.2024 19:16:01] Infernal: Regardless of Nero'
[02.12.2024 19:16:15] Infernal: Nero's disposition, I would gladly take any tasks you can offer, miss...?
[02.12.2024 19:16:22] GF:SEC)-Susan.Winters: What, me? Uh...
[02.12.2024 19:16:30] Infernal: Not you specifically, of course.
[02.12.2024 19:16:39] Victor.Steiner: No no, come on now.
[02.12.2024 19:16:43] GF:SEC)-Susan.Winters: I'm just an escort, chieftain. Not sure I can offer much. We have a bitter experience with uh. Junkers.
[02.12.2024 19:16:45] Victor.Steiner: You know why you're being stopped.
[02.12.2024 19:16:57] GF:SEC)-Susan.Winters: Off he goes.
[02.12.2024 19:17:02] Victor.Steiner: One moment.
[02.12.2024 19:17:32] Infernal: Mister Steiner, if he were to be considered free of the protections of the Crown I would be happy to employ the writ-
[02.12.2024 19:17:37] Infernal: - of piratical intent!
[02.12.2024 19:18:09] Victor.Steiner: I'll say it once...
[02.12.2024 19:18:15] Victor.Steiner: Don't.
[02.12.2024 19:18:26] Victor.Steiner: Well
[02.12.2024 19:18:40] Victor.Steiner: Bowex will have a little explaining to do later.
[02.12.2024 19:18:51] Infernal: Bowex?
[02.12.2024 19:18:59] Victor.Steiner: *Sigh* more paperwork
[02.12.2024 19:19:23] Infernal: What troubles you of late then, Steiner?
[02.12.2024 19:19:35] Victor.Steiner: Kishiro, apologies. Sorry, it has been a bit of a day.
[02.12.2024 19:19:42] Victor.Steiner: Nothing at all.
[02.12.2024 19:19:47] Matthew.Garrison: Greetings to you pilot
[02.12.2024 19:19:50] Infernal: Glad to hear.
[02.12.2024 19:19:52] GF:SEC)-Susan.Winters: Hey.
[02.12.2024 19:20:06] Victor.Steiner: Why I am quite free and happy to roam as I see fit
[02.12.2024 19:20:10] Victor.Steiner: Mostly
[02.12.2024 19:20:22] Infernal: Is it common for the armed forces to employ guilder ships?
[02.12.2024 19:20:43] Victor.Steiner: More common now than it was I believe.
[02.12.2024 19:20:52] Victor.Steiner: During the war, we took all sorts.
[02.12.2024 19:21:16] Infernal: I would have thought the end of the war would result in the crown having more ships than pilots.
[02.12.2024 19:21:41] Victor.Steiner: Hmm, yes and no. Recovery was difficult
[02.12.2024 19:21:56] Victor.Steiner: But then, they didn't leave many in the way of wounded either
[02.12.2024 19:22:08] Victor.Steiner: Well, the army would disagree but...as far as the Navy is concerned
[02.12.2024 19:22:35] Victor.Steiner: Mister Garrison is likely flying one of the 'spares'
[02.12.2024 19:23:17] Infernal: I suppose there's no accounting for taste among the Bretonian authorities, then.
[02.12.2024 19:23:22] GF:SEC)-Susan.Winters: See, this is the part where I'd say I'm glad to have never been in the military.
[02.12.2024 19:23:30] GF:SEC)-Susan.Winters: .. but it's not exactly safe.
[02.12.2024 19:23:30] Matthew.Garrison: I was on a secret mission for her majesty. Now I must return with a report
[02.12.2024 19:23:31] Infernal: At least the corporates have some good fortune in what they fly.
[02.12.2024 19:23:36] GF:SEC)-Susan.Winters: My ship's chipped from Corsairs just an hour ago.
[02.12.2024 19:23:40] Not.A.Brick: Oh huh. Crowded again.
[02.12.2024 19:23:47] Not.A.Brick: Well, it does feel like New York.
[02.12.2024 19:23:48] Infernal: Salutations.
[02.12.2024 19:23:48] Victor.Steiner: Really? You never served?
[02.12.2024 19:23:55] GF:SEC)-Susan.Winters: Never.
[02.12.2024 19:24:05] Victor.Steiner: How old are you
[02.12.2024 19:24:19] GF:SEC)-Susan.Winters: I just took lessons at a flight school in New London, and signed up with BMM expecting a cozy job. Not exactly like that.
[02.12.2024 19:24:21] Infernal: It's rude to pry, mister steiner.
[02.12.2024 19:24:21] GF:SEC)-Susan.Winters: Twenty six.
[02.12.2024 19:24:46] Victor.Steiner: I'm not known for manners, but twenty six, a bit young for the war.
[02.12.2024 19:24:54] Not.A.Brick: Wait, hey. Is BAF looking for recruits or something?
[02.12.2024 19:25:02] Victor.Steiner: Always.
[02.12.2024 19:25:04] GF:SEC)-Susan.Winters: I wasn't exactly old enough to participate. Not that I think I would.
[02.12.2024 19:25:09] Not.A.Brick: Oh. And the terms are?
[02.12.2024 19:25:24] Victor.Steiner: You'll have to speak with the Admiralty for specifics sir.
[02.12.2024 19:25:32] Not.A.Brick: Not you?
[02.12.2024 19:25:48] Victor.Steiner: I've been out a little too long from the Primary fleet to give you any solid answers.
[02.12.2024 19:26:02] Infernal: Does that mean you had an office once, then?
[02.12.2024 19:26:06] Not.A.Brick: Geez. That sort of decreases the chances.
[02.12.2024 19:26:14] Victor.Steiner: Me? Yes, of sorts.
[02.12.2024 19:26:19] Victor.Steiner: I had a....different role..
[02.12.2024 19:26:27] Not.A.Brick: A spy, right?
[02.12.2024 19:26:35] Not.A.Brick: Sort of. That's what i recall.
[02.12.2024 19:26:41] Infernal: I have a question of importance, Steiner.
[02.12.2024 19:26:46] Victor.Steiner: mmm?
[02.12.2024 19:26:49] Infernal: Your desk.
[02.12.2024 19:26:53] Victor.Steiner: Yes?
[02.12.2024 19:26:56] Infernal: What was it made of?
[02.12.2024 19:27:14] Victor.Steiner: Oak, Ash and Thorne.
[02.12.2024 19:27:18] Victor.Steiner: Why?
[02.12.2024 19:27:35] Infernal: Just judging your taste is all.
[02.12.2024 19:27:38] Not.A.Brick: Anthow, Steiner, how come are you still around?
[02.12.2024 19:27:52] Not.A.Brick: Or, rather, how come are you around again? Did anything worthy happen?
[02.12.2024 19:28:06] Victor.Steiner: Well, I didn't die.And I do live here. So.
[02.12.2024 19:28:17] Infernal: So then you /are/ a Londoner.
[02.12.2024 19:28:22] Not.A.Brick: Oh come on, that's not what i am cruious about.
[02.12.2024 19:28:27] GF:SEC)-Susan.Winters: Hey, what's wrong with being a Londoner?
[02.12.2024 19:28:32] Infernal: Nothing. He denies it.
[02.12.2024 19:28:36] Victor.Steiner: I'm from Cambridge sir.
[02.12.2024 19:28:41] Victor.Steiner: Not London.
[02.12.2024 19:28:57] Victor.Steiner: But I do have desk here
[02.12.2024 19:29:02] Victor.Steiner: For old times sake
[02.12.2024 19:29:16] Victor.Steiner: As to you, what are you curious about?
[02.12.2024 19:29:17] Infernal: Miss Winters, is this some breach of the local ettiquette I am unaware of? Or is he just one of those 'gits'?
[02.12.2024 19:29:41] Not.A.Brick: Obvious. Why is someone of your grade around?
[02.12.2024 19:29:43] GF:SEC)-Susan.Winters: I don't know. A lot of foreigners tend to knock about here insinuating Bretonian this, Bretonian that.
[02.12.2024 19:29:53] GF:SEC)-Susan.Winters: As if it's something bad.
[02.12.2024 19:29:59] Not.A.Brick: That normally means stuff. That's what i am curious about. Why?
[02.12.2024 19:30:16] GF:SEC)-Susan.Winters: It's not perfect, sure. No place is. It's alright though.
[02.12.2024 19:30:19] Victor.Steiner: Must the House be on the brink for me to come and take a look?
[02.12.2024 19:30:32] Not.A.Brick: Yep.
[02.12.2024 19:30:39] Victor.Steiner: *laughs*
[02.12.2024 19:30:41] Victor.Steiner: Fair enough
[02.12.2024 19:30:45] Infernal: Salutations, miner.
[02.12.2024 19:30:47] Not.A.Brick: No, really. Yep!
[02.12.2024 19:30:47] 2024-12-02 19:30:47 SMT Traffic control alert: (\/)orrigan has docked
[02.12.2024 19:30:56] Not.A.Brick: So, got a story?
[02.12.2024 19:31:16] Victor.Steiner: Not as yet, one might be....getting their bearings, as it were.
[02.12.2024 19:31:25] Matthew.Garrison: Well, I'm home. Slava Bretoni
[02.12.2024 19:31:30] Not.A.Brick: What is it THIS time? Space krakens? Kusarians? Miners? Gauls?
[02.12.2024 19:31:40] Victor.Steiner: allow me to ask. Who are you?
[02.12.2024 19:32:10] Not.A.Brick: I'm sort of getting used to how conversation stops the moment i name myself. So... no?
[02.12.2024 19:32:19] Not.A.Brick: I mean, should i really?
[02.12.2024 19:32:28] Not.A.Brick: I bet you can guess it at that point.
[02.12.2024 19:32:29] Victor.Steiner: 'tis only polite, you know of me.
[02.12.2024 19:32:30] GF:SEC)-Susan.Winters: Ugh. Being called off for something on Coleraine.
[02.12.2024 19:32:41] Dresher: Good Evening
[02.12.2024 19:32:45] Infernal: Good day.
[02.12.2024 19:32:47] Victor.Steiner: Evening all.
[02.12.2024 19:32:58] Not.A.Brick: Geez, I hate that. *Shrugs audibly* Silverstone.
[02.12.2024 19:33:10] Infernal: Whom?
[02.12.2024 19:33:27] Victor.Steiner: Silverstone...not sure if I made your aquaintence, back when I was worth a damn
[02.12.2024 19:33:35] Victor.Steiner: hmmm
[02.12.2024 19:33:38] Victor.Steiner: Did I?
[02.12.2024 19:33:47] Victor.Steiner: Ah, it's been a long time.
[02.12.2024 19:33:52] Not.A.Brick: Well, i remember you. Means you sort of did, aye?
[02.12.2024 19:34:01] Victor.Steiner: Must do.
[02.12.2024 19:34:16] Victor.Steiner: I didn't order your abduction did I?
[02.12.2024 19:34:31] Not.A.Brick: *Shrugs audiblu* Who didn't, really?
[02.12.2024 19:34:46] Not.A.Brick: I bet i even got killed a couple of times here and there.
[02.12.2024 19:34:54] Infernal: Perhaps you're not the only player returning past their prime.
[02.12.2024 19:35:12] Victor.Steiner: Heh, I would agree with that assessment
[02.12.2024 19:35:24] Not.A.Brick: But, like some of us, i'm not good at staying dead.
[02.12.2024 19:35:42] Infernal: I fear that's the point of death.
[02.12.2024 19:35:46] Victor.Steiner: Mister Silverstone is refering to back when I was worth a damn, and I, like him, don't really suit the 'retired' life.
[02.12.2024 19:36:39] Not.A.Brick: *Shrugs audibly once more* Well, death sort of works different. For some.
[02.12.2024 19:36:55] Not.A.Brick: Really, though. What is it?
[02.12.2024 19:37:00] Not.A.Brick: Can't be gaians, right?
[02.12.2024 19:37:10] Victor.Steiner: It's everything.
[02.12.2024 19:37:20] Infernal: I do hope you're not referring to the, ahm, 'wildlings' that have been skulking around lately.
[02.12.2024 19:37:23] Victor.Steiner: Economics, Politics, Dublin, Taus.
[02.12.2024 19:37:27] Not.A.Brick: Some things more than others?
[02.12.2024 19:37:43] Victor.Steiner: Oh the Gaians are....not the worst group.
[02.12.2024 19:37:51] Death: Saraswati. was put out of action by a hostile vessel.
[02.12.2024 19:37:57] Not.A.Brick: "Wildlings"? You mean, those lost rheinland military divisions?
[02.12.2024 19:38:08] Infernal: Really? A madman was shooting up a station in leeds the other day. I believe he was one of theirs.
[02.12.2024 19:38:18] Victor.Steiner: What's this now?
[02.12.2024 19:38:28] Not.A.Brick: What's what?
[02.12.2024 19:38:36] Victor.Steiner: Wildlings.
[02.12.2024 19:38:41] Infernal: I know of no such Rheinland divisions, though I've seen their type around too.
[02.12.2024 19:38:51] Infernal: Some dissenter or another.
[02.12.2024 19:39:17] Victor.Steiner: Hm.
[02.12.2024 19:39:22] Victor.Steiner: Good to know.
[02.12.2024 19:39:24] Not.A.Brick: Well, what kind of wildlings can he mean?
[02.12.2024 19:39:38] Victor.Steiner: Gaians I'd have thought. I'm sure they would love the title.
[02.12.2024 19:39:46] Infernal: Forgive me. I shouldn't have broached the topic.
[02.12.2024 19:39:51] Infernal: It's impolite.
[02.12.2024 19:39:53] Victor.Steiner: Oh no need.
[02.12.2024 19:39:58] Victor.Steiner: We're all friends here.
[02.12.2024 19:39:59] Not.A.Brick: Better than tree-lovers, hey.
[02.12.2024 19:40:18] Infernal: I shudder to think that you'll order my death too then, Steiner.
[02.12.2024 19:40:23] Victor.Steiner: HA
[02.12.2024 19:40:36] Victor.Steiner: I don't really go in for that these days.
[02.12.2024 19:41:20] Victor.Steiner: War is long done, and I'm not in a position to be removing people for lapses in etiqute
[02.12.2024 19:41:59] Victor.Steiner: Silverstone, you travel. Anything interesting these days?
[02.12.2024 19:42:09] Not.A.Brick: Lots of stuff really.
[02.12.2024 19:42:12] Infernal: Another time then. You should come for tea, considering any pending business between us it postponed.
[02.12.2024 19:42:19] Not.A.Brick: Depends on what kind you prefer.
[02.12.2024 19:42:40] Victor.Steiner: I shall make the effort to attend.
[02.12.2024 19:42:45] Victor.Steiner: Safe travels to you.
[02.12.2024 19:43:12] Infernal: I did not intend to say that I am leaving. Merely that I do not wish to discuss it publicly.
[02.12.2024 19:43:17] Victor.Steiner: Oh.
[02.12.2024 19:43:21] Victor.Steiner: My mistake.
[02.12.2024 19:43:27] Victor.Steiner: Of course, I understand.
[02.12.2024 19:43:41] Infernal: Least of all among what purports to be a den of washed-up spies.
[02.12.2024 19:43:47] Victor.Steiner: Sorry Silver. Rheinland in some degree of upheavel I believe.
[02.12.2024 19:44:29] Not.A.Brick: Is that weirdo really scared of talking of rheinlanders cause... he imagines spies all over the place?
[02.12.2024 19:44:58] OSI-Anadrin: Greets
[02.12.2024 19:44:59] Infernal: I was referring specifically to you.
[02.12.2024 19:45:04] Infernal: Salutations, freeworlder.
[02.12.2024 19:45:36] Not.A.Brick: And who would i even spy for?
[02.12.2024 19:46:22] Infernal: That depends. Why would mister steiner order your death or abduction?
[02.12.2024 19:46:41] Not.A.Brick: Why wouldn't he?
[02.12.2024 19:47:00] Infernal: Is that supposed to be an answer?
[02.12.2024 19:47:22] Infernal: I shouldn't think that spies order the death of individuals merely for existence.
[02.12.2024 19:47:49] Not.A.Brick: *Shrugs* Yep? I mean, what do you expect me to say? That at some point we didn't like what each of us was doing?
[02.12.2024 19:48:10] Infernal: Whether you call yourself a spy or not at such a point is semantics.
[02.12.2024 19:48:39] Victor.Steiner: Spies are a dime a dozen. Anyone can be a 'spy', it becomes meaningless after a while.
[02.12.2024 19:49:05] Victor.Steiner: You pass information on...large numbers of ships moving in X direction, let us say
[02.12.2024 19:49:22] Victor.Steiner: You are 'technically' spying, that makes you a spy.
[02.12.2024 19:49:27] Victor.Steiner: Even if you're not.
[02.12.2024 19:50:08] Not.A.Brick: Let's start with the first wrong thingy.
[02.12.2024 19:50:29] Not.A.Brick: For a moment you thought i want you to trust me or something, eh? Like, really now?
[02.12.2024 19:50:36] Not.A.Brick: Well i don't.
[02.12.2024 19:50:51] Not.A.Brick: Nor do i need your permission to peek on you if it comes to that.
[02.12.2024 19:51:05] Victor.Steiner: To whom do you speak?
[02.12.2024 19:51:05] Not.A.Brick: Nor it would be limited to something as silly as sitting around in a transport.
[02.12.2024 19:51:19] Not.A.Brick: That weirdo, of course. Didn't give a name.
[02.12.2024 19:51:26] Not.A.Brick: Or maybe i didn't catch any.
[02.12.2024 19:51:52] Infernal: Present 'company' accused me of being paranoid and seeing spies in shadows.
[02.12.2024 19:51:59] Victor.Steiner: Gentlemen please. There is no need for us to be short with one another.
[02.12.2024 19:52:51] Victor.Steiner: Overimagination and past glories lead to strange stories and miscommunicated ideas. Wouldn't you agree?
[02.12.2024 19:53:03] Infernal: I will, for the sake of deescalation.
[02.12.2024 19:53:20] OSI-Anadrin: Id shoot everyone
[02.12.2024 19:53:27] Infernal: Rude.
[02.12.2024 19:53:41] Victor.Steiner: Remember when we could shoot them on sight?
[02.12.2024 19:53:54] Victor.Steiner: They obviously don't..
[02.12.2024 19:54:14] Infernal: Was that not a ship of the omicron corporation?
[02.12.2024 19:54:32] Victor.Steiner: Bretonia has an interesting relationship with Zoners
[02.12.2024 19:54:34] Victor.Steiner: Or they did.
[02.12.2024 19:54:57] Not.A.Brick: Interesting my ass. You invaded 49 and tried to do the same with 50 and 52.
[02.12.2024 19:55:08] Infernal: Perhaps a former governmental official of some import should write them a sternly worded letter as to an employee's imprudence.
[02.12.2024 19:55:29] Not.A.Brick: Not even speaking of... how many times there was a mess around FP-1? I can recall more than five.
[02.12.2024 19:55:36] Victor.Steiner: Yes, understatements are rather our style.
[02.12.2024 19:56:47] Victor.Steiner: Christ..
[02.12.2024 19:57:04] Infernal: Ah. The wildling itself.
[02.12.2024 19:57:09] Not.A.Brick: A talking toaster again.
[02.12.2024 19:57:20] Not.A.Brick: Same weird kind from before.
[02.12.2024 19:57:21] Victor.Steiner: Wait..what? That's what you refered too?
[02.12.2024 19:57:28] Infernal: Among other things.
[02.12.2024 19:57:38] Not.A.Brick: I say, just pop it.
[02.12.2024 19:57:54] Victor.Steiner: The bloody Technocracy? Wildling? Come on...
[02.12.2024 19:58:09] Infernal: I am unfamiliar with that term, Steiner.
[02.12.2024 19:58:18] Victor.Steiner: Don't worry about it.
[02.12.2024 19:58:20] Infernal: I can only tell you from my own experiences.
[02.12.2024 19:58:33] Infernal: And clan experience says to leave it be.
[02.12.2024 19:58:46] Not.A.Brick: I say, burn it.
[02.12.2024 19:58:53] Not.A.Brick: Nothing Birdy touched deserves to exist.
[02.12.2024 19:59:09] Victor.Steiner: Well it doesn't seem to be hear to talk.
[02.12.2024 19:59:17] Victor.Steiner: which is unusual at best.
[02.12.2024 19:59:28] Infernal: You are unfortunately incorrect.
[02.12.2024 19:59:35] Not.A.Brick: That's the best part.
[02.12.2024 19:59:37] Infernal: But consider yourself blessed all the same.
[02.12.2024 19:59:40] Not.A.Brick: It's not talking.
[02.12.2024 19:59:44] Infernal: Agreed.
[02.12.2024 20:00:14] Victor.Steiner: Why do I suddenly feel you know more about them than you let on?
[02.12.2024 20:00:42] Infernal: To whom are you speaking? Myself?
[02.12.2024 20:00:47] Victor.Steiner: Yes
[02.12.2024 20:01:03] Infernal: You know of my own stellar origins?
[02.12.2024 20:01:09] Infernal: We discussed this at length.
[02.12.2024 20:01:13] Victor.Steiner: I know very little about you.
[02.12.2024 20:01:30] Not.A.Brick: It's close enough for you to burn it. Sure you shouldn't?
[02.12.2024 20:01:31] Infernal: You know that I am from the stellar south.
[02.12.2024 20:02:27] Victor.Steiner: Hm.
[02.12.2024 20:02:34] Infernal: The junker kin of my association are familiar with 'them', though not in such material terms.
[02.12.2024 20:03:01] Infernal: I myself had an experience not so long ago in Tau-31.
[02.12.2024 20:03:23] Victor.Steiner: I'd keep mum if I were you.
[02.12.2024 20:03:35] Infernal: Noted.
[02.12.2024 20:04:43] Victor.Steiner: AI vessel eh? odd.
[02.12.2024 20:04:53] Victor.Steiner: Silver, what do you make of it?
[02.12.2024 20:05:34] Not.A.Brick: This one?
[02.12.2024 20:05:44] Victor.Steiner: Yes.
[02.12.2024 20:05:46] Not.A.Brick: Smells with Birdy the more the more i look at it.
[02.12.2024 20:05:58] Victor.Steiner: It seems like a surveliance drone.
[02.12.2024 20:06:08] Victor.Steiner: Wonder if it can speak.
[02.12.2024 20:06:22] Not.A.Brick: Her - or Hunt's. Or whichever of their tube-babies.
[02.12.2024 20:06:30] Victor.Steiner: You there. AI
[02.12.2024 20:06:36] Victor.Steiner: Explain yourself.
[02.12.2024 20:06:41] Not.A.Brick: I'd rather burn it than have a chat with it really.
[02.12.2024 20:06:46] Infernal: Do you really wish to tempt fate, Steiner?
[02.12.2024 20:06:53] Victor.Steiner: Yes.
[02.12.2024 20:06:54] Victor.Steiner: I do.

[02.12.2024 20:07:40] Not.A.Brick: Yeah well. Just hearing that is ugly.
[02.12.2024 20:07:58] Victor.Steiner: *Chuckles* primitive
[02.12.2024 20:08:06] Infernal: Not an incorrect assessment.
[02.12.2024 20:08:14] Victor.Steiner: You don't much like him do you?
[02.12.2024 20:08:27] Infernal: He is ornery.
[02.12.2024 20:08:38] Victor.Steiner: Hm
[02.12.2024 20:08:39] Infernal: I have yet had a reason to care for his acquaintance.
[02.12.2024 20:08:51] Victor.Steiner: Fair enough I suppose
[02.12.2024 20:08:57] Victor.Steiner: Both men of conviction
[02.12.2024 20:09:04] Infernal: Whomever you were referring to, in any case. Either Silverstone or it.
[02.12.2024 20:09:27] Victor.Steiner: It?
[02.12.2024 20:09:45] Infernal: The wildthing.
[02.12.2024 20:09:48] Victor.Steiner: If we keep calling the AI insulting names, it will likely take a fairly dim view of us.
[02.12.2024 20:09:56] Infernal: Them.
[02.12.2024 20:10:01] Victor.Steiner: We can call it what it is, artificial intelligence.
[02.12.2024 20:10:30] Victor.Steiner: Although, it's IFF is a bit....off.
[02.12.2024 20:10:49] Victor.Steiner: hence one's initial....worry
[02.12.2024 20:11:29] Infernal: You should shun these matters. They are beyond our meaning.
[02.12.2024 20:11:42] Victor.Steiner: Only God is beyond us
[02.12.2024 20:11:49] Victor.Steiner: This, this is man's work.
[02.12.2024 20:12:12] Infernal: There are a fair few legends of the Omegas that would disagree with that sentiment.
[02.12.2024 20:12:31] Infernal: Our madman friend in leeds espoused one.

[02.12.2024 20:14:49] Victor.Steiner: How'd it go?
[02.12.2024 20:15:01] Infernal: Distressingly incomprehensibly.
[02.12.2024 20:15:18] Infernal: I did not have the privilege of present company. Or any company.
[02.12.2024 20:15:48] Victor.Steiner: Define 'Analyze possibilities'?
[02.12.2024 20:16:17] Gaians)Ron.Barton: There is contact on the radar, the target is hostileEveryone take up combat positions
[02.12.2024 20:16:27] Victor.Steiner: Oh for God's sakes.
[02.12.2024 20:16:40] Infernal: What is this, the queen's operahouse?

[02.12.2024 20:17:58] Infernal: He may well have been referring to you, Steiner.
[02.12.2024 20:18:05] Victor.Steiner: Oh good.
[02.12.2024 20:18:37] Infernal: Conventional wisdom would propose intervention if he engages the wildthing, however.
[02.12.2024 20:19:12] Victor.Steiner: Technically I'm not obliged to do anything. Since both are, oddly, illegal entities.
[02.12.2024 20:19:13] Infernal: Forgive my superstition for the moment, but it doesn't do to invoke their wrath.
[02.12.2024 20:19:16] Gaians)Ron.Barton: Let's go one at a time, take turns attacking...
[02.12.2024 20:19:42] Infernal: Have they acted as anything but a guest, even if an unwelcome one?
[02.12.2024 20:19:52] Victor.Steiner: Gaian are you talking to me?
[02.12.2024 20:20:09] Gaians)Ron.Barton: my communication terminal is malfunctioning, it takes time to translate your message, give me time to decrypt
[02.12.2024 20:20:17] Victor.Steiner: That is fine.
[02.12.2024 20:20:29] Victor.Steiner: Another AI? What the bloody hell is going on.
[02.12.2024 20:20:41] Infernal: I fear London may be cursed.

[02.12.2024 20:22:54] Victor.Steiner: You wouldn't think it'd do that much damage.
[02.12.2024 20:23:00] Victor.Steiner: Familiar you say?
[02.12.2024 20:23:05] Infernal: Clearly sirian.
[02.12.2024 20:23:10] Infernal: If profane.
[02.12.2024 20:23:44] Victor.Steiner: Profane? An interesting word.
[02.12.2024 20:24:57] Victor.Steiner: Bowex, stear clear
[02.12.2024 20:25:06] Victor.Steiner: Slight disagreement ahead.
[02.12.2024 20:25:11] Bowex)H.Godwinson: Trouble?
[02.12.2024 20:25:15] Infernal: The glow they possess is not a pleasant sight to my eyes, no.
[02.12.2024 20:25:36] Victor.Steiner: Need some glasses there sir.

[02.12.2024 20:26:46] Victor.Steiner: Did this wee thing call itself a diplomatic drone?
[02.12.2024 20:26:58] Infernal: Unfortunate. I imagine the paperwork for a diplomatic dispatch is quite dense.
[02.12.2024 20:27:14] Victor.Steiner: I'm retired.
[02.12.2024 20:27:23] Bowex)H.Godwinson: What are they fighting about?
[02.12.2024 20:27:35] Infernal: Machine. Wildling. What is the purpose of your dispatch?
[02.12.2024 20:27:48] Victor.Steiner: Well the Gaian takes issue with the AI's existence because apparently robots are bad for Nature.
[02.12.2024 20:28:10] Infernal: The void is hardly nature, I would note.
[02.12.2024 20:28:10] Victor.Steiner: The AI isn't all that impressed with that line of thinking and reckons Humans have 'an interesting way of judging'

[02.12.2024 20:28:49] Bowex)H.Godwinson: And the other IA is just observing?
[02.12.2024 20:29:03] Victor.Steiner: Seems to be. Calls itself a 'Diplomatic drone'
[02.12.2024 20:29:41] Bowex)H.Godwinson: Intersting. If he was a Diplomat, wouldn't he/it try to stop the fight?

[02.12.2024 20:29:51] Infernal: Ah. The Gaian falls. This is why we steer clear, Steiner.
[02.12.2024 20:29:55] Victor.Steiner: He might be a bias diplomat?
[02.12.2024 20:29:55] EC]-Unit-9467F:: [::: Threat - eliminated :::]
[02.12.2024 20:30:12] Bowex)H.Godwinson: One never knows
[02.12.2024 20:30:57] Victor.Steiner: Well, all I know is that the Admiralty is going to have a stroke when this report is filed.
[02.12.2024 20:30:58] Bowex)H.Godwinson: It has a weird IFF
[02.12.2024 20:31:05] Victor.Steiner: Yeah, might be damaged?
[02.12.2024 20:31:12] Infernal: No. It is their nature.
[02.12.2024 20:31:32] Victor.Steiner: Can robots have a 'nature'? Seems rather contradictory
[02.12.2024 20:31:38] Infernal: The neuralnet is anathema to the likes of them.
[02.12.2024 20:31:48] Infernal: Or the other way around, I should say.
[02.12.2024 20:32:09] Bowex)H.Godwinson: It looks like it needs to find somewhere to repair
[02.12.2024 20:32:13] EC]-Unit-9467F:: [::: 'My' kind - has their own - purpose and personality :::]
[02.12.2024 20:32:22] Victor.Steiner: Oh, I forgot to mention
[02.12.2024 20:32:24] Victor.Steiner: It speaks
[02.12.2024 20:32:44] Victor.Steiner: Now. Which way were you going mister Godwinson? Do you require an escort?
[02.12.2024 20:33:01] Victor.Steiner: Much as the AI seem harmless, better safe than sorry
[02.12.2024 20:33:02] Bowex)H.Godwinson: I was just about to head to Cambridge
[02.12.2024 20:33:30] Infernal: I would be glad to fulfill such a task, I have a request of my own for Mister Godwinson.
[02.12.2024 20:33:40] Bowex)H.Godwinson: Request?
[02.12.2024 20:33:47] Victor.Steiner: Well then I'll hold the fort here.
[02.12.2024 20:33:49] Bowex)H.Godwinson: Pray do tell
[02.12.2024 20:33:51] Infernal: Your corporation peddles in goods?
[02.12.2024 20:33:58] Victor.Steiner: With my new found 'friends'
[02.12.2024 20:34:30] Victor.Steiner: One would appreciate an explanation as to your being in Bretonia, AI
[02.12.2024 20:34:33] Infernal: Try not to order their deaths. Or abduction. Or torture for that matter, Steiner. You can be too friendly sometimes.
[02.12.2024 20:34:34] Bowex)H.Godwinson: Peddles? Strange thought. We deliver required commodities.
[02.12.2024 20:34:43] ::|Drone_501a|::: Friend. Designation: Positive relations confirmed. Response: Hello, Friend.
[02.12.2024 20:35:05] Infernal: Shall we begin the road to Cambridge? I can explain my requirements en route.

[02.12.2024 20:35:16] Bowex)H.Godwinson: Certainly
[02.12.2024 20:35:19] Infernal: Give them a birth.
[02.12.2024 20:35:28] [OOC] Infernal: berth*
[02.12.2024 20:35:31] Bowex)H.Godwinson: Good luck, Sir
[02.12.2024 20:35:35] Victor.Steiner: Gentlemen
[02.12.2024 20:35:39] EC]-Unit-9467F:: [::: However - depending your behaviour - things can go 'south' :::]
[02.12.2024 20:36:20] Infernal: You are familiar with the Junkers, Godwinson?
[02.12.2024 20:37:09] Bowex)H.Godwinson: I have worked with them a few times
[02.12.2024 20:37:18] Infernal: Then you understand the value we place on fixing things.
[02.12.2024 20:37:55] Bowex)H.Godwinson: In the sense of ships?
[02.12.2024 20:37:58] Infernal: I am in need of more precision devices to achieve such a task. Is this something your corporation can provide?
[02.12.2024 20:38:07] Infernal: Yes, but also in the general.
[02.12.2024 20:38:42] Bowex)H.Godwinson: Can you be a little more precise?
[02.12.2024 20:39:21] Infernal: I am currently interested in a number of workbenches and computer terminals, as well as the usual screwdrivers and other tools.
[02.12.2024 20:39:36] Infernal: I need the majority of a repair suite. Delivered to Tau-31, if possible.
[02.12.2024 20:40:43] Bowex)H.Godwinson: Rather strange request. Junkers generally are well stocked with repair shop tools. Lost yours?
[02.12.2024 20:40:53] Infernal: I'm a newcomer.
[02.12.2024 20:41:06] Infernal: New place. New tools.
[02.12.2024 20:41:50] Bowex)H.Godwinson: And where abouts, in Tau 31, would they have to be delivered?
[02.12.2024 20:42:16] Infernal: Planet Harris. New Brunswick province. If they are delivered to the starport, I can handle the final stretch.
[02.12.2024 20:43:35] Bowex)H.Godwinson: I am sure we can accomodate your request. Would need a specific list of requirements. Would we have to source them or is
[02.12.2024 20:43:50] Bowex)H.Godwinson: this a transportation requirement?
[02.12.2024 20:44:33] Infernal: They would need to be sourced. I have no particular tolerance requirements for preferences, I need only be able to debug
[02.12.2024 20:44:36] Infernal: NeuralNet issues.
[02.12.2024 20:46:09] Bowex)H.Godwinson: You will have to be a little bit more precise in your requirements. What one person requires is not necessarily what others
[02.12.2024 20:46:16] Bowex)H.Godwinson: would want.
[02.12.2024 20:46:17] Infernal: I can provide the details in an offer letter shortly.
[02.12.2024 20:46:43] Infernal: Is this something your company would be willing to provide?
[02.12.2024 20:47:23] Bowex)H.Godwinson: How many benchs, drilling machines, milling machines would you need. Are we also talking MIG machines, gas welding, arc
[02.12.2024 20:47:58] Rules Tip: Do not run Freelancer at a framerate above 155fps - for more information on this, please visit our forums @ Discoverygc.com.
[02.12.2024 20:47:59] Bowex)H.Godwinson: welding etc. The list can be endless. One could also want TIG machines.
[02.12.2024 20:48:23] Infernal: For now, two benches, an administration terminal, and a welder suited to cutting hull panels, as well as a box of vises.
[02.12.2024 20:48:44] Infernal: Would 100,000 credits cover the cost?
[02.12.2024 20:48:46] Bowex)H.Godwinson: I am sure we could procure and transport said items. Time constraint?
[02.12.2024 20:48:56] Infernal: A week's time would be preferable.
[02.12.2024 20:49:06] Infernal: Two weeks is my maximum.
[02.12.2024 20:50:30] Bowex)H.Godwinson: Send a communication, with minimum requirements, shipping address, contact details and we should be able to acquire and
[02.12.2024 20:50:42] Bowex)H.Godwinson: deliver in short order
[02.12.2024 20:51:04] Infernal: Gladly. Thank you mister Godwinson I will do so shortly.
[02.12.2024 20:51:06] Infernal: Good day.
[02.12.2024 20:51:30] Bowex)H.Godwinson: Safe skies and look forward to your communication

UNCLEAR SKIES

Miss Elise is another of the wayward, if congenial, souls in this suppressive region.

An ostensible pirate, racer, and mechanic in one. Large life for a Bretonian girl. I would mistake her for a Junker if it were not for the iconography.

She purports to be a member of a "Sisterhood", though she maneuvered around the subject. Trouble at home, I take it. We all have enough of that.

I suspect it would do me well to make her acquaintance again. If not for the fact that Bretonia is an ever-darkening place, then because I suspect my dealings with Venus may draw me into undesired conflicts. A friend on the skeptical end of morality would be necessary in any resolution.

[02.12.2024 21:56:08] Infernal: Salutations.
[02.12.2024 21:56:12] Yellowfin: Hey, Junker. Fancy ship.
[02.12.2024 21:56:24] Infernal: Thank you. Miss...?
[02.12.2024 21:56:34] Yellowfin: Elise.
[02.12.2024 21:56:39] Infernal: Adenike.
[02.12.2024 21:56:43] Infernal: Charmed.
[02.12.2024 21:56:59] Yellowfin: Little early to say, but I'll go with it.
[02.12.2024 21:57:23] Infernal: And what brings you down from the glorious blue, then?
[02.12.2024 21:57:45] Yellowfin: I had to get some stupid paperwork from home.
[02.12.2024 21:57:55] Yellowfin: Now, I'm....actually not sure where I'm headed.
[02.12.2024 21:58:11] Infernal: I did not take you for such a dull task.
[02.12.2024 21:58:18] Infernal: Racer?
[02.12.2024 21:58:53] Yellowfin: I've done some. Not really my main occupation, but it's something I like.
[02.12.2024 21:59:23] Infernal: What does one need such an interesting vessel for, then?
[02.12.2024 21:59:51] Yellowfin: It was a gift from my girls for a very long friendship.
[02.12.2024 22:00:03] Infernal: Interesting girls, then.
[02.12.2024 22:00:10] Yellowfin: Well, I asked for it and they gave it to me. I don't know if that counts as a gift.
[02.12.2024 22:00:28] Infernal: Many Junkers would agree that it is.
[02.12.2024 22:00:44] Infernal: They were pirates, however.
[02.12.2024 22:00:57] Yellowfin: Hah. Well. I do mean in an amicable way, not like that.
[02.12.2024 22:01:30] Infernal: Mm. Kusari?
[02.12.2024 22:01:56] Yellowfin: I'm not from there, but I've spent a lot of my life there. Thus the girls and the ship.
[02.12.2024 22:02:06] Infernal: I assumed. But you know the phrase.
[02.12.2024 22:02:22] Infernal: Admittedly I do not know much of the local ettiquette to comment on gifts.
[02.12.2024 22:02:41] Yellowfin: What about you? I've known some rich Junkers, but that's still a pretty unusual ship to be flying.
[02.12.2024 22:02:56] Infernal: Ah. There's a very sad Bretonian boy in Newcastle, now.
[02.12.2024 22:03:00] Yellowfin: Also, hey Corse.
[02.12.2024 22:03:06] Revendeur.II: Hey!
[02.12.2024 22:03:17] Yellowfin: Ah, another gift then? But of the other sort.
[02.12.2024 22:03:33] Infernal: No. He made a bet, and the odds were in my favor.
[02.12.2024 22:03:36] Revendeur.II: Damned, you scared me with the Chrystantenum IFF!
[02.12.2024 22:03:59] Infernal: What the hell is a chrys-tan-tan-um?
[02.12.2024 22:04:09] Yellowfin: What kind of bet? Or is it the sort you have to swear not to tell people about?
[02.12.2024 22:04:31] Infernal: That depends on the kind of oath you're willing to make.
[02.12.2024 22:04:56] Infernal: In confidence?
[02.12.2024 22:05:01] Yellowfin: Well go on then, give me a hint at least.
[02.12.2024 22:05:20] Infernal: I don't know the game. Something from the edge worlds, I assume. But I did know the dealers.
[02.12.2024 22:05:54] Yellowfin: You know, if you had said Cambridge instead of Newcastle, I would have suspected my brother.
[02.12.2024 22:06:09] Infernal: The house always wins as they say, and luckily it was for rent.
[02.12.2024 22:06:22] Yellowfin: Because he's rich, he owns one of those ships, and he is absolutely the sort to make an ill-advised bet.
[02.12.2024 22:06:37] Yellowfin: Obviously that's a one in a billion chance, but it'd fit him.
[02.12.2024 22:06:44] Infernal: Bretonia is a lovely place in that way.
[02.12.2024 22:06:57] Infernal: In many ways, as it turns out.
[02.12.2024 22:07:16] Yellowfin: I don't find a lot of charm in it. Only came back for the paperwork.
[02.12.2024 22:07:29] Infernal: We're all running from home, then.
[02.12.2024 22:07:40] Infernal: And where is that for you now?
[02.12.2024 22:08:30] Yellowfin: *she blows out a long breath, tapping the dash*
[02.12.2024 22:08:32] Yellowfin: Good question.
[02.12.2024 22:08:51] Tip: Are you new to our server? Introduce yourself on our forums in the Welcome Section at Discoverygc.com
[02.12.2024 22:09:04] Infernal: Mm. Kusari has not been the most welcoming to me either, if that's the implication.
[02.12.2024 22:09:18] Yellowfin: I mean, I can always go to the girls. They took me when I was a teenager, they'll take me at thirty-five too. I'm sure of it.
[02.12.2024 22:09:39] Yellowfin: But I'm not too happy with some of the directions the Sisterhood has taken.
[02.12.2024 22:09:50] Infernal: And these girls are the type to take in any stray that shows up? No offense intended, of course.
[02.12.2024 22:10:00] Infernal: Maybe a word ahead?
[02.12.2024 22:10:12] Yellowfin: Apparently so? It sort of happened by accident.
[02.12.2024 22:10:29] Yellowfin: I was all young and chaotic and being an outlaw in their territory.
[02.12.2024 22:10:44] Yellowfin: But they didn't have a problem with it, instead, they gave me a place and supported me.
[02.12.2024 22:11:04] Yellowfin: I'll always be grateful to them, no matter what I think of their more recent...developments.
[02.12.2024 22:11:08] Infernal: Ah, I cannot sympathize. One of the perks of being with the clans, as it turns out.
[02.12.2024 22:11:25] Infernal: The proper authorities are always willing to bargain for us.
[02.12.2024 22:11:36] Infernal: Well. Unless you're in Kusari.
[02.12.2024 22:11:53] Yellowfin: I like to keep that very much separate by nation.
[02.12.2024 22:12:08] Yellowfin: I'm a Bretonian citizen and I do have to return sometimes, so I don't start shit there.
[02.12.2024 22:12:19] Infernal: That worldview may well have trouble in the less civilized places.
[02.12.2024 22:12:22] Yellowfin: I also don't start shit in Rheinland, for....unrelated reasons.
[02.12.2024 22:12:38] Yellowfin: In Kusari and Liberty, I'm fine with being on the wanted lists.
[02.12.2024 22:12:46] Yellowfin: And Gallia? Who knows. I don't go there.
[02.12.2024 22:12:52] Infernal: Do not go there.
[02.12.2024 22:13:35] Infernal: This sisterhood is of what persuasion, exactly?
[02.12.2024 22:13:50] Yellowfin: The Golden Chrysanthemums? You've heard of them, I assume.
[02.12.2024 22:14:03] Infernal: I have been quite sequestered in my dealings.
[02.12.2024 22:14:25] Infernal: But most religious figures don't have fully-armed ships.
[02.12.2024 22:14:45] Infernal: And neither do fancy junkers, for that matter.
[02.12.2024 22:14:59] Infernal: Or is that just a wayward sister thing?
[02.12.2024 22:15:16] Yellowfin: It's not really- well, I guess it's a little bit religious.
[02.12.2024 22:15:31] Yellowfin: But mostly it's a women's rights movement, which aren't too great in Kusari.
[02.12.2024 22:15:57] Infernal: I assumed that any brotherhood is religious in nature, godly or not.
[02.12.2024 22:16:06] Infernal: But there I go assuming again.
[02.12.2024 22:16:29] Infernal: You would be welcome to set the record straight.
[02.12.2024 22:16:44] Yellowfin: You're not entirely wrong. They have this whole thing about a prophesized chosen child who will become Empress or whatever.
[02.12.2024 22:17:13] Yellowfin: But how many Chrysanthemums *actually* believe in that stuff? I dunno, a minority for sure.
[02.12.2024 22:17:28] Infernal: As much as I would hate to admit it, some of our own legends are of similar nature.
[02.12.2024 22:17:40] Infernal: And I am not currently predisposed to question them in recent times.
[02.12.2024 22:18:16] Yellowfin: That's an ominous statement. Go on, clarify.
[02.12.2024 22:18:38] Infernal: I would prefer not to ruin my mood. Another time maybe.
[02.12.2024 22:19:00] Infernal: Suffice to say that Bretonia has changed since your childhood.
[02.12.2024 22:19:28] Yellowfin: Well....yeah. You could say that.
[02.12.2024 22:19:55] Yellowfin: I'm from Cambridge so we didn't get the worst of it, but...yeah.
[02.12.2024 22:20:07] Infernal: Ah. Another Cambridge 'git', as they say.
[02.12.2024 22:20:36] Yellowfin: It was an environment I couldn't wait to leave.
[02.12.2024 22:20:39] Infernal: At least you have better taste in ships.
[02.12.2024 22:20:42] Infernal: If gaudy.
[02.12.2024 22:21:51] Infernal: What was so urgent that it brought you home for mere paperwork, then?
[02.12.2024 22:22:08] Infernal: Could they not have been authenticated and sent off?
[02.12.2024 22:22:34] Yellowfin: Nothing particularly interesting, really. Some early medical records.
[02.12.2024 22:22:55] Infernal: I won't pry, then.
[02.12.2024 22:23:04] Infernal: And the Gin?
[02.12.2024 22:23:23] Yellowfin: Well, I picked that up because I just like drinking.
[02.12.2024 22:24:33] Infernal: Mm. I'll ask it.
[02.12.2024 22:24:38] Infernal: Nobility?
[02.12.2024 22:25:06] Yellowfin: Fair guess, but no. Just a really, really rich common family.
[02.12.2024 22:25:20] Infernal: Corporate, then.
[02.12.2024 22:26:29] Yellowfin: Yeop, but not one you're likely to ever have heard of. Unless you're somehow really interested in the packaging industry.
[02.12.2024 22:26:47] Infernal: I might be.
[02.12.2024 22:26:57] Infernal: Depending on the task of the day.
[02.12.2024 22:27:38] Infernal: Do you hold an interest in the venture?
[02.12.2024 22:28:24] Yellowfin: My interest in packaging extends to its ability to keep my stuff in place and no further.
[02.12.2024 22:28:58] Infernal: So you hold no ownership, then.
[02.12.2024 22:29:52] Yellowfin: Nah. Even if I had followed all the education and all that shit and gone to meetings, I really doubt I'd have gotten in there.
[02.12.2024 22:30:10] Infernal: I would wish you luck in your travels, but I fear it would be perfunctory without knowing your destination.
[02.12.2024 22:30:27] Yellowfin: I don't know it myself.
[02.12.2024 22:30:41] Infernal: Surely you intend to return to your sisters?
[02.12.2024 22:30:43] Yellowfin: You know what, maybe Baffin. I could use a nice relaxing trip to those crystal caves.
[02.12.2024 22:30:58] Infernal: Ah. Now those I know of. Not in Baffin, though.
[02.12.2024 22:31:14] Yellowfin: Hm?
[02.12.2024 22:31:35] Infernal: An associate-employer of mine showed me a rather interesting formation in Coronado.
[02.12.2024 22:31:59] Yellowfin: Coronado? What, on Pecos?
[02.12.2024 22:32:00] Infernal: Not far off of the local freelancer installation.
[02.12.2024 22:32:06] Infernal: No, this was void-formed.
[02.12.2024 22:32:18] Yellowfin: Huh.
[02.12.2024 22:33:18] Infernal: Barrier gate may well have the lodgings you need. I would be more than willing to show you the way.
[02.12.2024 22:33:49] Yellowfin: Well, I know the way of course. I've been through the Barrier pass plenty of times.
[02.12.2024 22:34:00] Yellowfin: But I'd be happy to travel at least to Baffin together.
[02.12.2024 22:34:07] Infernal: And you've seen the crystal cave there, then?
[02.12.2024 22:34:24] Infernal: Very well.
[02.12.2024 22:34:32] Yellowfin: Alright!
[02.12.2024 22:35:19] Infernal: I would offer you a place to stay, but I fear trenchworks in the middle of a minefield are a touch hazardous.
[02.12.2024 22:35:40] Yellowfin: It's alright, Shasta should have space.
[02.12.2024 22:37:03] Yellowfin: Fuckin' watch it, fatty!
[02.12.2024 22:37:11] Infernal: Damnable gallics.
[02.12.2024 22:39:10] Yellowfin: Well, here's my stop.
[02.12.2024 22:39:46] Infernal: Miss Elise, before I go.
[02.12.2024 22:40:06] Infernal: What is the nature of your employment?
[02.12.2024 22:40:07] Yellowfin: Being called miss is so strange. But go on.
[02.12.2024 22:40:17] Yellowfin: Uh.
[02.12.2024 22:40:35] Infernal: Keeping in mind that this is a freeport, and therefore safe.
[02.12.2024 22:41:04] Yellowfin: I've done a lot of things. Pirate, mercenary, job I can't tell you about or I'd have to kill you.
[02.12.2024 22:41:28] Yellowfin: And of course, fighter and mechanic for my girls.
[02.12.2024 22:41:53] Infernal: Mm. It has been a pleasure to make your acquaintance. I shall reach out if I find anything that needs your requirements.
[02.12.2024 22:42:20] Infernal: Do keep safe. Good day.
[02.12.2024 22:42:24] Yellowfin: Cool. I wouldn't mind a job, I've kind of been coasting on occasional tasks.
[02.12.2024 22:42:31] Yellowfin: It was nice talking to you, Adenike.
[02.12.2024 22:42:37] Infernal: Ciao.

JUST WINDOW SHOPPING

Miss Venus remains haunted by the muttering infirmities of this region. This time, one ‘Caliban’.

Our impromptu and unplanned rendezvous at Barrier Gate was interrupted by the vagabond. Miss Venus was not prone to the conflict. I suppose I cannot blame her, given past injuries. Still, it is worrying that the lunatic was able to contact me. The conversation was moved to an installation in Dublin. Friends of hers, no doubt. And they have quite nice ships. There were several cruisers in holding that I am utterly envious of. Miss Venus informed me that they come up on market from time to time.

The news of the day was exchanged, as was an update on my task. I broached the topic of a return to Bornholm to sate my cloying thoughts, and an interest was conveyed. One day soon, perhaps, assuming the pay is enough to stabilize my position.

Alternatively…, I cannot shake the thought that my dealings with Venus have become increasingly dangerous. Contraband, Madmen, and Pirates. On top of it all, I suspect my dealings with a known smuggler would seem ungainly to my Bretonian associations. To say nothing of the ‘other happenings’.

I should think to send for Miss Elise sometime soon. It would be positively wonderful for my health to have an unattached ally at the right juncture. And the road south to Bornholm is quite hazardous.

[03.12.2024 20:05:37] Infernal: Salutations, guilder.
[03.12.2024 20:05:59] IMG|Semblance: H: Busy looking for scrap?
[03.12.2024 20:06:08] Infernal: Busy looking for many things.
[03.12.2024 20:06:28] IMG|Semblance: H: Looks like you were in some scrap too...
[03.12.2024 20:06:45] IMG|Semblance: H: Or is there another reason for not being topped up?
[03.12.2024 20:06:45] Infernal: Is there a reason for such increased security? Or is the pleasure of your presence its own justification?
[03.12.2024 20:07:30] IMG|Semblance: H: There is no reason in particular. We are just a support vessel rather than one that keeps the dogs at bay.
[03.12.2024 20:07:50] Infernal: And who would 'the dogs' be?
[03.12.2024 20:08:04] IMG|Semblance: H: Outcasts mostly...
[03.12.2024 20:08:23] Infernal: I see. Pirates?
[03.12.2024 20:08:45] IMG|Semblance: H: You have those too but they are underwhelming compared to the Outcasts, at least in these parts.
[03.12.2024 20:09:38] Infernal: I have been in residence on Harris for a short time now. But I have not encountered these Outcasts.
[03.12.2024 20:10:02] IMG|Semblance: H: If you want to meet them, head to Tau-23. I'm sure you'll find a few
[03.12.2024 20:10:24] Infernal: I'll pass.
[03.12.2024 20:10:55] Infernal: Good day, then.
[03.12.2024 20:11:01] IMG|Semblance: H: Farewell...
[03.12.2024 20:31:43] A/)-Venus.: Been admiring that rock again?
[03.12.2024 20:32:17] A/)-Venus.: Psst...
[03.12.2024 20:32:30] Infernal: Ah.
[03.12.2024 20:32:32] Infernal: Venus?
[03.12.2024 20:32:37] A/)-Venus.: Hello.
[03.12.2024 20:32:53] Infernal: Perhaps. It was a matter of conversation.
[03.12.2024 20:33:12] A/)-Venus.: With someone else?
[03.12.2024 20:33:18] Infernal: Yes.
[03.12.2024 20:33:25] A/)-Venus.: What did you talk about?
[03.12.2024 20:33:37] Infernal: Nothing at all, really.
[03.12.2024 20:33:48] Infernal: It came up in the course of neighboring Baffin.
[03.12.2024 20:33:54] A/)-Venus.: Sounds riviting.
[03.12.2024 20:34:15] A/)-Venus.: Tell me more?
[03.12.2024 20:34:28] Infernal: If you care to take a landing, then sure.
[03.12.2024 20:34:40] A/)-Venus.: On Barrier?
[03.12.2024 20:34:50] Infernal: The service dock will do. There's enough space here.
[03.12.2024 20:35:02] Infernal: But then I would have to stop speaking to a ghost, wouldn't I?
[03.12.2024 20:35:04] A/)-Venus.: Maybe I'm already sitting besides you
[03.12.2024 20:35:19] A/)-Venus.: Does it bother you?
[03.12.2024 20:35:34] Infernal: It's impolite.
[03.12.2024 20:35:56] A/)-Venus.: Well, if I had done this last time, I wouldn't have been shot, now would I?
[03.12.2024 20:36:08] Infernal: I don't see any madmen here. Do you?
[03.12.2024 20:36:41] A/)-Venus.: Not yet...
[03.12.2024 20:36:49] Infernal: I promise not to haul away your cargo this time in any case.
[03.12.2024 20:37:03] A/)-Venus.: I'm glad you did haul it away
[03.12.2024 20:37:16] A/)-Venus.: would've been a shame if I went through all that effort just to lose it there.
[03.12.2024 20:37:21] Infernal: Agreed.
[03.12.2024 20:37:53] Infernal: What do you know of the sisterhood, then?
[03.12.2024 20:38:11] A/)-Venus.: Not a whole lot.
[03.12.2024 20:38:27] Infernal: That's more than I in any case. I know only that they exist.
[03.12.2024 20:38:32] A/)-Venus.: I never interacted with them but I do some some people who dealt with them, what about them?
[03.12.2024 20:38:35] Infernal: In the mind of my new associate, anyhow.
[03.12.2024 20:39:28] Infernal: Then what do you know?
[03.12.2024 20:39:40] A/)-Venus.: That they exist? [she chuckles]
[03.12.2024 20:39:59] A/)-Venus.: While I love the Kusari kitchen and spent quite some time there - I've not flown around there much
[03.12.2024 20:40:04] Infernal: Fair, I suppose. It is confirmed then.
[03.12.2024 20:40:35] Infernal: In any case, this poor, wayward soul met me on the lanes north of Bretonia.
[03.12.2024 20:40:48] A/)-Venus.: A woman of the sisterhood?
[03.12.2024 20:41:00] Infernal: Of that I have no indication. She flew colors.
[03.12.2024 20:41:10] Infernal: But she also spoke of rejoining them sometime soon.
[03.12.2024 20:41:58] A/)-Venus.: I don't know their goals... I just know Kusari doesn't like them.
[03.12.2024 20:42:34] Infernal: She was quite vague in that regard. All I heard were her own reservations about the sisterhood.
[03.12.2024 20:42:47] A/)-Venus.: I see.
[03.12.2024 20:42:52] A/)-Venus.: Sor-
[03.12.2024 20:43:01] Infernal: Hmm? Something the matter?
[03.12.2024 20:43:06] A/)-Venus.: Hello.
[03.12.2024 20:43:09] Caliban: Boo.
[03.12.2024 20:43:29] Infernal: That's quite rude, Venus. I was not finished my story.
[03.12.2024 20:43:42] A/)-Venus.: Perhaps another time.
[03.12.2024 20:43:55] Caliban: Yeah, thought as much.
[03.12.2024 20:43:55] Infernal: If you intend on treating me like that, maybe not!
[03.12.2024 20:44:14] Infernal: Hmph.
[03.12.2024 20:44:15] A/)-Venus.: we spoke about madman - there you have one.
[03.12.2024 20:44:35] Caliban: Madman? Lovely. Here I thought you were somewhat more reasonable that the rest of your ilk.
[03.12.2024 20:44:49] Caliban: Guess I was wrong. Whatever.
[03.12.2024 20:45:14] Caliban: I would.
[03.12.2024 20:45:45] A/)-Venus.: -that- guy is a bit of a wild storm, unpredictable and all that.
[03.12.2024 20:46:54] Infernal: And? We could not have taken him between the two of us?
[03.12.2024 20:47:13] Infernal: One would think you owe him a debt, the way you ran off like that.
[03.12.2024 20:47:13] A/)-Venus.: It's a whole lot more complicated than that.
[03.12.2024 20:47:20] A/)-Venus.: I can't speak freely around them.
[03.12.2024 20:47:31] Infernal: Evidently not.
[03.12.2024 20:48:18] A/)-Venus.: it's nothing personal to you.
[03.12.2024 20:48:41] Infernal: Fine. We will continue my story another time.
[03.12.2024 20:48:54] A/)-Venus.: Tell me where you'll sit.
[03.12.2024 20:48:58] A/)-Venus.: I'll come and see you
[03.12.2024 20:49:46] Infernal: Halifax is unsafe. Barrier is unbearable.
[03.12.2024 20:50:04] Infernal: You have nothing /but/ quarrels with the Bretonians, it seems.
[03.12.2024 20:50:14] Infernal: Need we truly go to Trafalgar? Or is there another place?
[03.12.2024 20:50:28] A/)-Venus.: hm... we're alright with the guys in Dublin
[03.12.2024 20:50:38] Infernal: Meaning the 'locals'?
[03.12.2024 20:51:01] A/)-Venus.: Mollys
[03.12.2024 20:51:10] A/)-Venus.: We're alright with those guys.
[03.12.2024 20:51:24] Infernal: I am unfamiliar and unacquainted. If they have no quarrel with me, then it is acceptable.
[03.12.2024 20:51:50] A/)-Venus.: I'm sure they are fine with you Junkers.
[03.12.2024 20:52:03] Infernal: I will take your word for it. When?
[03.12.2024 20:52:17] A/)-Venus.: You should be able to know - right?
[03.12.2024 20:52:49] Infernal: My schedule works for me alone.
[03.12.2024 20:53:15] Caliban: [incoming_mail:/>CLBN: Hey. Apparently you're Venus's friend, yes? That's what she says. Come see her, maybe?] [CALIBAN]
[03.12.2024 20:54:17] Infernal: Maybe. What is it to you? [CALIBAN]
[03.12.2024 20:54:36] Infernal: Is there a reason your madman has my mailing address?
[03.12.2024 20:54:52] Caliban: Making sure she doesn't leave a bad impression over paranoia. I have no end goals here. [CALIBAN]
[03.12.2024 20:54:56] A/)-Venus.: Is he talking to you?
[03.12.2024 20:55:14] Infernal: Ah. He's worried about my impressions of you.
[03.12.2024 20:55:24] A/)-Venus.: Heh.
[03.12.2024 20:55:38] A/)-Venus.: And what are these impressions?
[03.12.2024 20:55:43] Infernal: 'Friend'. Associate. You just said that to a Junker. [CALIBAN]
[03.12.2024 20:56:14] Infernal: Undeterminable.
[03.12.2024 20:56:46] A/)-Venus.: Wow, that's flattering.
[03.12.2024 20:57:06] Caliban: Prove me wrong and pardon your associate for that show-off. [CALIBAN]
[03.12.2024 20:57:14] Infernal: Need I really say more about strange women, chased by madmen who disappear at will?
[03.12.2024 20:57:24] Infernal: Can I, even?
[03.12.2024 20:57:30] A/)-Venus.: Hardly my fault.
[03.12.2024 20:57:56] Infernal: Somehow I doubt that. And what do I say to our madman friend?
[03.12.2024 20:58:22] A/)-Venus.: Whatever you like.
[03.12.2024 20:58:37] Infernal: Are you with him now?
[03.12.2024 20:58:53] A/)-Venus.: Hmh.
[03.12.2024 21:00:58] A/)-Venus.: Let me know when you settled somewhere and I'll come over.
[03.12.2024 21:01:29] Infernal: We will meet with your Molly friends, then.
[03.12.2024 21:01:35] Infernal: Dublin.
[03.12.2024 21:02:53] A/)-Venus.: If he tells you anything weird about me, I'd like to know
[03.12.2024 21:03:49] Infernal: I have arrived.
[03.12.2024 21:06:35] A/)-Venus.: On my way now.
[03.12.2024 21:06:39] A/)-Venus.: Give me a bit
[03.12.2024 21:07:16] A/)-Venus.: How's the scenery?
[03.12.2024 21:08:38] Infernal: Dull.
[03.12.2024 21:08:47] A/)-Venus.: Sorry about that...
[03.12.2024 21:08:58] A/)-Venus.: I'm trying to think of more interesting places.
[03.12.2024 21:09:32] A/)-Venus.: The Freeport in Tau-29 could work in the future, since you're staying on Harris, or... maybe even Holman?
[03.12.2024 21:10:59] Infernal: Holman works. So long as there are no Guilders around.
[03.12.2024 21:11:07] A/)-Venus.: how so?
[03.12.2024 21:11:12] A/)-Venus.: not a fan?
[03.12.2024 21:11:14] Infernal: They were prying into my hold on the way up the barrier.
[03.12.2024 21:11:28] Infernal: I am not a fan of cruisers considering me as a target. That is all.
[03.12.2024 21:11:30] A/)-Venus.: That bothers you?
[03.12.2024 21:11:51] A/)-Venus.: Were you hauling something special?
[03.12.2024 21:11:54] Infernal: For a man straddling the borders of moral commerce?
[03.12.2024 21:12:03] Infernal: Not at the time. But the intrusion is noted the same.
[03.12.2024 21:12:29] A/)-Venus.: The Guild is - hm... I doubt they'd really care.
[03.12.2024 21:12:46] Infernal: I am not a guilder. Surely I am expendable to them?
[03.12.2024 21:13:14] A/)-Venus.: You're both groups picking away at space resources, they are no that different.
[03.12.2024 21:13:44] A/)-Venus.: One of the few big companies we trust at least.
[03.12.2024 21:13:55] Death: Nogard was put out of action by a hostile vessel.
[03.12.2024 21:15:29] A/)-Venus.: Almost there...
[03.12.2024 21:17:30] A/)-Venus.: heh... forgot about that race track here.
[03.12.2024 21:17:46] Infernal: You partake?
[03.12.2024 21:17:47] A/)-Venus.: last time I was here, I got shot at by a whole Bretonian armada.
[03.12.2024 21:18:05] A/)-Venus.: I haven't really considered it.
[03.12.2024 21:18:13] A/)-Venus.: did you want to race?
[03.12.2024 21:18:30] Infernal: Not in this, no.
[03.12.2024 21:18:43] A/)-Venus.: ah you got a racer?
[03.12.2024 21:19:01] Infernal: No. Although one could be procured.
[03.12.2024 21:19:14] Infernal: Little more than an engine is required.
[03.12.2024 21:19:53] Infernal: Our associate in the sisterhood, however, has been known to partake.
[03.12.2024 21:19:54] A/)-Venus.: Hm... needs to be a good enginethough
[03.12.2024 21:20:09] Infernal: You know, Venus,
[03.12.2024 21:20:12] Infernal: The scenery is dull.
[03.12.2024 21:20:19] A/)-Venus.: heh...
[03.12.2024 21:20:20] Infernal: The locals are... eccentric.
[03.12.2024 21:20:30] Infernal: But I quite enjoy these pirate cruisers.
[03.12.2024 21:20:43] A/)-Venus.: They are ... pretty
[03.12.2024 21:20:54] A/)-Venus.: maybe I'll command one, one day
[03.12.2024 21:21:15] Infernal: There's a market for them, then?
[03.12.2024 21:21:56] A/)-Venus.: I believe Auxesia has one or two...?
[03.12.2024 21:22:12] A/)-Venus.: I'll eventually be too old for these fighters, at least I hope to be
[03.12.2024 21:22:14] Infernal: I have no idea who you are talking about.
[03.12.2024 21:22:20] Infernal: Pirates?
[03.12.2024 21:23:06] A/)-Venus.: These ships go on the open market
[03.12.2024 21:23:30] Infernal: You should need to tell me if you see a listing, then.
[03.12.2024 21:23:43] A/)-Venus.: So, you want one then?
[03.12.2024 21:23:43] Infernal: Thse rheinland cruisers are quite enjoyable to my Junker sensibilities.
[03.12.2024 21:24:03] Infernal: Perhaps one day. For now, I have yet to root myself in the local market.
[03.12.2024 21:24:18] GF:SEC)-Susan.Winters.: Hey. You said you wanted work, right?
[03.12.2024 21:24:39] Infernal: Always. But I am currently indisposed.
[03.12.2024 21:24:43] A/)-Venus.: Hm, if you want to see fancy pirate ships, I'm sure you can admire some near Ithaca.
[03.12.2024 21:24:44] GF:SEC)-Susan.Winters.: Talk later.
[03.12.2024 21:24:45] Infernal: Can I attend to your needs shortly?
[03.12.2024 21:24:56] GF:SEC)-Susan.Winters.: It's not urgent, anytime kind of thing.
[03.12.2024 21:25:22] Infernal: So you have led me to believe. In the passage, correct?
[03.12.2024 21:26:01] A/)-Venus.: So - wait - you really haven't been there?
[03.12.2024 21:26:20] Infernal: I may well have, but one station is as much another.
[03.12.2024 21:26:31] Infernal: And they change hands often in Rheinland.
[03.12.2024 21:26:35] A/)-Venus.: I figured you'd frequent the place if you're from the omega's. Especially because they'd have good deals.
[03.12.2024 21:26:53] A/)-Venus.: Ithaca is a hive of pirates and other... uh unwanted people.
[03.12.2024 21:26:57] A/)-Venus.: for the houses.
[03.12.2024 21:26:59] Infernal: Good deals are often our own. You are speaking of /competition/.
[03.12.2024 21:27:25] Infernal: You have been to Bornholm?
[03.12.2024 21:27:26] A/)-Venus.: Pirates want to ship their stolen goods, I know some Junkers see that as work.
[03.12.2024 21:27:41] A/)-Venus.: I have but only for a pitstop - I did see that fighting ring.
[03.12.2024 21:28:05] Infernal: I have considered returning briefly to check up on something.
[03.12.2024 21:28:23] BMF|Royal.Merchant: Jock : What shall we do with a drunkin sailor....what shall we do....
[03.12.2024 21:28:28] Infernal: I take you are not a superstitious person?
[03.12.2024 21:28:49] A/)-Venus.: Hm... not sure? What are you getting at?
[03.12.2024 21:29:44] Infernal: Tsk. Our madman in Leeds spoke of some legend before your unfortunate incident.
[03.12.2024 21:29:53] Infernal: I have been thinking of our own.
[03.12.2024 21:30:47] Infernal: You may well find some enlightening. But I would prefer to see them from the source.
[03.12.2024 21:31:06] A/)-Venus.: I wouldn't really believe what that Gaian was talking about...
[03.12.2024 21:31:14] A/)-Venus.: What are your legends about?
[03.12.2024 21:31:16] Infernal: Clearly not. He was mad.
[03.12.2024 21:31:32] Infernal: But legends are often not without meaning.
[03.12.2024 21:31:52] Infernal: That depends on what particular superstition you are interested in.
[03.12.2024 21:32:34] Infernal: I have a few that I am interested in, but that's a conversation for another time.
[03.12.2024 21:32:51] A/)-Venus.: You got different kinds... hm - I would love to hear those
[03.12.2024 21:32:54] A/)-Venus.: and - hello.
[03.12.2024 21:33:07] DTR-Triana: Oye, my radar eye spots some ships
[03.12.2024 21:33:11] Infernal: Is this your 'business partner'?
[03.12.2024 21:33:24] A/)-Venus.: Who are you asking?
[03.12.2024 21:33:27] DTR-Triana: Muchachos y muchachas have you seen a very annoying bret singing some sailing song? I want to personally thank him for...
[03.12.2024 21:33:27] Infernal: You.
[03.12.2024 21:33:30] DTR-Triana: blowing out my eardrums
[03.12.2024 21:33:46] A/)-Venus.: They are not my business partner...
[03.12.2024 21:33:57] A/)-Venus.: I believe they were near their own base.
[03.12.2024 21:34:08] Infernal: Pending business between us states otherwise, but I will take your word.
[03.12.2024 21:34:19] Pawn died to Golia (100%)
[03.12.2024 21:34:24] DTR-Triana: No answer, fine. I will find him around in this system, he shouldn't be far
[03.12.2024 21:34:45] A/)-Venus.: He's part of the group that did gift it to me. But that's not really important right now for your job.
[03.12.2024 21:34:58] A/)-Venus.: I to-
[03.12.2024 21:35:06] A/)-Venus.: I told them...
[03.12.2024 21:35:08] A/)-Venus.: heh
[03.12.2024 21:35:10] Infernal: Hm?
[03.12.2024 21:35:25] A/)-Venus.: I told them to look for those loud sailors at their base, I guess they didn't hear me
[03.12.2024 21:35:52] Infernal: I do not take them for the type to share the spoils. Let them hunt.
[03.12.2024 21:36:23] Infernal: I have nothing else to say.
[03.12.2024 21:36:30] A/)-Venus.: right
[03.12.2024 21:36:36] Infernal: If that is all, I will take my leave, Venus.
[03.12.2024 21:36:48] A/)-Venus.: You didn't tell me about how work is progressing
[03.12.2024 21:37:06] Infernal: Damnable Bretonian corporations have yet to deliver the requisite supplies.
[03.12.2024 21:37:09] A/)-Venus.: And - please don't talk to the Corsairs about this - I thought that much was clear.
[03.12.2024 21:37:30] Infernal: I would prefer not to risk your goods with such... 'traditional' methods.
[03.12.2024 21:37:50] Infernal: Fine, Venus. Consider me sworn.
[03.12.2024 21:37:56] A/)-Venus.: Take your time, there is no rush, take weeks if you have to
[03.12.2024 21:38:15] Infernal: Safe skies.
[03.12.2024 21:38:20] A/)-Venus.: take care...
[03.12.2024 21:38:24] Infernal: Ciao.
[03.12.2024 21:38:36] A/)-Venus.: Think of a nice place to meet next time so you can tell me about these legends
