Request for assistance in salvaging
Greetings The Xeno Alliance ,
My name is Eddy Narson Colonel within the Order First Fleet Overwatch. I am contacting you today concerning a request for assistance in a salvaging operation the Overwatch is planning. Our operation area will be in Vespucci. If you are interested in assisting us I will fill you in with the rest of the details.
I require every man, woman, and ship we have to hold a line in the sand in Ontario. And it's already caked with blood and oil as is, so for you to be asking for me of all people to be sparing you resources to go salvage "something" out on the frontier where our grip is at its most tenuous, then I have to question the urgency. Or actually, the need altogether.
What are you intent on salvaging and why? And have you considered all factors that may play a hand in dictating overall risk to an operation like this? What I mean by this, is that you have locals, and adjacent nuisances which may be so inclined to swarm the area in a way that we are neither prepared nor able to handle at this time.
I do hope you have actually thought about all this before deeming it proper to contact me.

If the Alliance is, as you say, stretched thin with its personal then I understand the Alliance's hesitance to render assistance to the Overwatch in this matter. To that end if it would be better for the Alliance to remain where they are currently deployed then we would prefer it that way. Absent assistance is better then unwilling assistance.
I'm asking you for details and tactical data to make a decision. I haven't yet made a decision but you are already convincing me that this would be a waste of time and manpower, or at least your tone is coming across as condescending.
Are you going to answer my questions now or will I have to find out for myself?

I am not one to trade insults or engage in round about dialogue, Commander. It's something I attempt to avoid whenever possible, especially when speaking to someone of authority. However, readers will apply tone to text as they will. To the point however, I am not wholly privy to the Alliance's current manpower. From your pervious massage I could only guess at your forces current circumstances. It is not the Overwatch's intention to weaken those who have been co-operative with us. Thus, the strong language of the Commander led me to believe that the Alliance was in a delicate situation that required the full attention of the Alliance's forces.
As to the Overwatch's mission. The Overwatch is looking to better maintain its new heavy capital assets. As these capital assists are not of Order design or origin we have been forced to go to the source. However, as you are well aware the Insurgency is no longer in existences and their remnants unreliable and taking shelter with hostile third parties. Therefor we aim to search the remains of Leniex Shipyard in Vespucci for that we seek.
As the Overtwach's force deployment. We given the location and route we are taking, the Overwatch's salvage force will consist of fighter craft and four frigates. The smaller force will allow the operation to attract far less attention then a battlegroup would, as well as more easily evade patrols.
We project opposition appearing in the form of the Technocracy primarily, bounty hunters, and pirates. The Overwatch is already in the prosses of speaking with other factions that are on speaking terms with the Order. We project that the Red Hessians and House of liberty will ignore our operation.
I'm confused. Since the understanding I currently have regarding Leniex is that while sections of the station are intact and can be accessed, anything of actual value has been rendered irreparably damaged.
That's to say nothing of any data stored there. All of which was wiped upon the organised withdrawal of elements stationed there. This isn't a presumption on my part either, many former personnel from the erstwhile Legion have joined our cause.
Are you sure there's something that actually warrants a deployment? I'm curious what your intelligence is and would appreciate it if you could forward me the information you're acting on.

You are correct Commander. However, the Overwatch is not looking for intact or necessarily usable parts or data. We quiet simple are looking to obtain everything and anything from the station. You see the Overwatch is already in position of working parts and data thanks to the mass of Insurgent refugees the Order took on with our new assists. However their in lies the problem, we only have working parts that we cannot risk breaking. That we need is parts that we can work with without worrying about the end-state of our work. We are also looking to get an good look at the shipyards themselves just in case.
Thus is why the salvage team is so small and no capital assets are being deployed. We project that we will be out of the system with what we need by the time any true enemy fleet can be put together to investigate.
