Yarwood, Burns,

I asked Padraig to pass along some of my findings on the Slog situation since I'd be outside of comms net for while, did he ever get to that? It should contain records of my communications with our Hacker friends in Lovelace, my recent interaction with the Junker Congress as well as some intel of existing distribution centres within the greater movement.

Starting to think we've an opportunity here. Control the market, stem the flow internally, ship it outside of Bretonia.

Let me know what you think.

Wynne,

On the surface, the opportunity is tempting. But we still do not have any idea of this substance's origins. There is at least one unidentified neurotoxic compound in its makeup that our lab analysis has been able to isolate, and we cannot track down its source. Several drug labs have the formula for producing it, all of them underground. No chemist has taken credit for synthesising it so far.

This is going to take some time to unravel. But if you want my current thoughts, there seems to be a deliberate obfuscation of information surrounding Slog, and the unknown compound within is too complex to have come from an amateur. In addition, Slog appears to be engineered to target the low-income demographic. Therefore, I advise caution until we learn more. Relying on it for revenue may compromise the Assembly, and eventually, the movement as a whole.

We cannot, in good conscience, look at something that we do not fully understand through the lens of the profit motive. I am quite certain that in the long term, this drug will greatly damage our recruitment efforts. It is rare for me to take an ideological position on a matter, rather than a pragmatic one, but given what we know, the probable profit of Slog trade is outweighed by its undermining of our own support base.

And as for smuggling it away from Bretonia, well, consumer exploitation non-withstanding, we would need to contend with already established players in the market with our product, with all the extra risks that entails. Some of our people might die for this narcotrafficking venture. Is that really a path worth taking? Are we a movement with a cause or a two-credit Junker clan? Perhaps this is a matter for the next meeting of the Assembly to discuss further. In the meantime, I personally encourage you and your men not to take part in this.

Godspeed,
Matthew Jamie Burns

Burns,

I'm not opting for us to distribute this shite inside of Bretonia, I'm specifically thinking we can profit off of the lazy-arse dim-wits outside of Crownie-land, whilst primarily getting our product from anyone that wants to distribute within Bretonia, through any means necessary. We're already waging a war, we've already got our fingers in the market; lets be honest now, we're fighting for control of Bretonia.

All I've got is the goal of Final Liberation in mind, no matter what we peddle we're stepping on toes and making enemies. - Burns, we don't need reminding of the sector's Gold situation do we?
This is a potential revenue stream positioned outside of the blockade, we Bretonians are the bloody source of this shite and the blackmarkets of everywhere else will pay a pretty penny for it.

Besides, what established players of note we talking? Junkers perhaps? Them cute hoors don't give a blooming shite for our cause, they never have. Seen the state of Trafalgar lately? If it's not Crownies clapping our arses through Glenridding, it's the gombeen Corsairs taking advantage of Junker hospitality right under our noses! I'd be glad to see their kind out of Bretonia if you ask me.

My lads are already involved, I've a number of contacts planet-side for the shite and I've already instructed them to begin intercepting shipments in space.
If it helps your peace of mind Burns, I'm taking measures to keep this stuff away from our lot. Export will remain contract only, like we've got going for the Lovelace gang.

As for the Assembly, be my guest. I'd love to see where the Drifters go on this.
