Name: Baire "Octonary" Rinn

Age: According to the docs, about 45.

Birthday and Birthplace: I genuinely don't remember. As far as I know? Stuttgart. But that could easily be a false memory.

Biography:

Hell, where do I even begin with this? How do you write something you can't remember almost any of the details? I've written some of it down, but most if it is lost.

I have been suffering from episodes of spontaneous amnesia for my entire life. It's all because of this damn chip thing embedded deep into my skull. Every doc and medical person I've been to tells me I'm outta luck. Sure, it's nice having basically super-powers. I can fly a transport solo thanks to it...but I'd like to be able to remember who I am consistently.

My notes tell me I've been a trader most of my life. Guess the knowledge that cash brings fortune is common sense, anyway. I spent some time smuggling slaves and artifacts from Pittsburgh and Sigma-19. Then, I did the same thing under a group of weirdos called "The Hyperspace People" or "The League". Short-lived, they're basically all MIA now.

It's kind of blank for a while after that. Last thing I know, I wake up in a hospital bed and get told I was knocked out for half a year. My..."friends" at the League were gone. I was alone, forgetful...shit was not good, to say the least.

Then I found the Junkers. There's a lot of good people here. That's what my notes say, anyway. Been flying under them doing business for a good while now. But I want to do something more. Making money is no good if I can't remember what to spend it on.

So the Congress. It sounds like a way to make a change for the better. A purpose for all this nothing I'm doing.

We expect new recruits to already join with some basic piloting formation or training. However, flying a ship and being able to defend yourself in one are like day and night. Do you have combat experience in escort vessles or gunships?: I'm not a rookie, but I ain't an ace either. Most people could probably grease me on a good day.

Space ops' aren't everything, we do have a place for those more inclined with public and business relations as well. Do you consider yourself a good haggler? Good with speeches?: I've been doing business my whole life. I got a thing or two with words.

What would you do if you get caught smuggling by a member of law enforcement? What about if you're stopped by a bandit while smuggling?: Law enforcement depends on who you're talking to. Some of them are the tough types you just ain't gonna get out from. Some of them though, you can weave a good tale. Smuggling Cardamine? Stress how important it is that some people have it. They could die without it. Stabiline exists, yes, but maybe some folks ain't got clean access to it, not to mention all the controversy about Stabiline's long-term side effects. A pirate stops me? Again, depends. If it's some solo independent, again, you might not be able to get away. Maybe make a bargain or something if you can. Most other criminals though, we're in a very good position to negotiate. Junkers are the biggest name in the black market game. If a Rogue or Hacker wants to disturb my business, then we can certainly take it elsewhere.

What ships do you already own?: I own a Pirate Train I bought from Invergordon. Formerly owned a Jackdaw, but I sold it off recently in anticipation of getting a new rig.

OORP Part

Post the ID rules of the Junker ID here:
- Can attack Hogosha and Xenos
- Can engage in piracy.
- Cannot use Cruisers, Battlecruisers, Battleships, or ships with more than 4,300 cargo space.

Are you allowed to pirate in Liberty as a Junker?: It literally says it in plain text "Can engage in piracy".

Have you had any interaction with a Congress member thus far? If yes, what was his/her ship or character name: Haven't had the pleasure yet, sadly. Maybe once a long time ago, but forgotten.

Your Discord details (if any): @scrotes

Hey Baire,

Quite the resume on you lad, been a while since we had someone with such a storied past. Has my fair share of interactions with THP and they were good people. Furthermore, seems the arbiter sent a good word in for you as well. Welcome, make your way to Inverness and we'll get your ships outfitted.

Hey Slainte,

Gateway's trade captains are well know for the shrewd business practices, and anyone who survived combat in the Gallic War surely has enough competence with a ship to merit giving a chance. Make your way to Inverness and we'll get your ship outfitted in true Congress Style.

Who are you?: //Arden "Maeden" Vosk // Age 43 human years

Where are you from?:Strausberg-Kassel Debris Field

What is your story?: You know how most people are born in hospitals? Yeah, well, I was born in the cargo bay of a beat-up Salvager, in deep orbit of some half-forgotten Rheinland scrapyard. My parents? Junkers to the bone. My crib a stripped-down reactor core stuffed with rags.

Our crew just one Salvager frigate and a gaggle of leaky CSVs headed out on a grand, noble mission:
to set up a salvage yard in a debris field so ancient, it probably predates house politics.
It was nestled in a forgotten pocket of Border Worlds between Liberty and Rheinland. We thought we hit the jackpot.
Until the Xenos showed up.

They didn’t show up to talk. They didn’t show up to steal.
They showed up to scream "GET OFF OUR LAWN" through open comms and start vaporizing CSVs like they were playing a biggot version of Space Invaders.

“Filthy border-world scum!”
“Time to make an example!”

That kind of talk. Real original.
I was on one of the CSVs. Didn't get a chance to say goodbye to her or my limbs. When the ship blew, I turned into a comet made of screams, pain, and regret.
They found me later what was left of me. No legs, one arm barely attached, lungs collapsed, I looked like shit. But I was alive. Barely.

Built Different. Literally.
Back at Kreuzberg Depot, the crew did what Junkers do best:
Welded, Bolted, Recycled
They slapped me back together with what looked like old busted droid parts, a vending machine claw, all the high tech within junkers budget.

Only 8 out of 35 of us survived that day. And let me tell you, Xenos bought that win with blood. We sent most of those fascist home in grinded down escape pods.

That incident Left me scarred, burnt, bolted, and deeply allergic to authoritarians.
So nowadays I do mostly honest work. Mostly.
Freight hauling. Salvage ops. Smuggling the occasional questionable item through Rheindland customs. pretending it's “industrial-grade chewing gum.”
But when Xenos,Hogosha, Farmers Alliance, or Core clowns show up?
I stop being a hauler and start being a problem.

Any Criminal Past?: Nope wait, Cardamine is legal right?

What ships do you currently own?: mainly a"Collector" and sometimes pilot a Pilgrim liner for hauling

Who are you?: Clifford Ames, former first mate of Ian Howler.

Where are you from?:Was born on Planet New London. Me parents were cops, a shame I can't erase.

What is your story?: I suppose it all starts when I were but a lad. I always liked the idea of scrapping, and maybe a bit of smuggling. I got me start as a deckhand on Ian Howler's crew. Worked me way up to first mate. After Ian's accident, I knew he wasn't long for the world. Sadly, recently, the radiation sickness took him from us. Naturally, I took the helm. He saw it coming, isolated himself, 'twas a shame to see him deteriorate like that. Seems only appropriate to do this formally.

Any Criminal Past?: I may or may not have stolen an IMG heavy transport. Wasn't too hard to nick a uniform off a drunken miner. It's me pet project. Can't get the damned core to output power quite right, though.

What ships do you currently own?: I have taken over most of Ian's old beasts. I've got his CSF, his Salvager, his Liner, sadly his Bustard was lost in a bad poker bet. It's me biggest mistake. I also have his Gitano and me own personal Kestrel. It was me first ship bought legitimately. I think there might be a couple others, but it isn't an easy task to keep track of. Of course I also have the IMG transport I stole, but I wouldn't want to bring us any trouble.

Incoming Transmission – Office of the Deputy Arbiter

Sender: Sarah Masterson, Deputy Arbiter of the Junker Congress
Encryption: Congress High-Line
Subject: Review of Recruitment Requests for Vosk and Ames
Routing: Recruitment Officers, Registrars, Depot Overseers

RECRUITMENT DECISION FOR ARDEN “MAEDEN” VOSK

Arden Vosk,

Your history reflects a lifetime carved out of scrap, hardship and survival. You were born among Junkers, raised by them and rebuilt by them. That grit is respected across every yard that answers to the Congress.

After reviewing your recruitment request, the Congress cannot accept you at this time.

Your record shows repeated direct confrontations with Xenos, Hogosha, Farmers Alliance and Core forces. While your reasons are understood, the Congress requires recruits to demonstrate restraint, predictability and a level of discipline that ensures stability for the entire organization. Your current pattern of activity does not meet that standard.

You may continue operating as an independent Junker. If your conduct becomes more measured and consistent over time, you may request consideration again.

Fly with caution, Vosk. The choices you make reach farther than your own hull.

Sarah Masterson
Deputy Arbiter, Junker Congress

RECRUITMENT DECISION FOR CLIFFORD AMES

Clifford Ames,

Your recruitment request is approved.

Your service under Ian Howler carries significant weight within the Congress. Rising from deckhand to first mate and taking responsibility during his decline shows loyalty, competence and reliability. These qualities are foundational to Congress operations.

Your management of his vessels and routes demonstrates a strong understanding of salvage work, transport handling and Junker trade practices. Your earlier acquisition of an IMG transport is noted. As long as the matter remains contained and free from diplomatic consequences, the Congress will not pursue it.

You are formally accepted into the Junker Congress.

Report to the nearest Congress installation for registry confirmation, transponder calibration and orientation. You maintained Howler’s trust during his lifetime. It is expected that you will show the same steadiness in service to the Congress.

Sarah Masterson
Deputy Arbiter, Junker Congress
