In recent days, some concerning events have developed in the Omicrons which I believe all of us who have signed this Treaty need to know. We should all be aware of what we are soon to face.
This past Saturday, Cairo and Capetown, frontier stations on Omicron Zeta belonging to the Order and Core, were attacked by a massive joint horde of alien unholy abominations and ships piloted by humans who we believe to be worshipers of the Nomads, or even infected by alien incubi. We know this first hand, as the commanders of two Pontifical Navy gunboats that we've stationed at Freeport 11 received transmisions requesting help and immediatly sailed there with their ships to assist the sieged.
The battle was savage, and the defense forces composed of the Order, the Core, some Phoenix members, and other independents Zoners, as well as our two gunships, fought with all their hearts, but it wasn't enough. I'll spare you the horrible details that have been transmitted to me, but I must inform you that the humans were defeated by those nefarious creatures, resulting in the loss of both stations.
On the other hand, it could have been much worse. Most of the personnel in Cairo and Capetown were evacuated thanks to the joint effort and sacrifice of the defenders, and even a lot of the sensitive information in the stations was extracted so that the monsters couldn't use it against us. This, however, didn't come for free. To achieve this, several ships of the human side were lost, which will be difficult to replace, and there were a large number of military casualties.
We ourselves have lost the two gunboats that went to help. We don't know if we'll ever be able to recover the wrecks, and if they can be repaired. We've also lost the lives of twelve crew members from those ships, and five more are currently between life and death, being treated at Freeport 11...
*The Pontiff stops speaking for a few moments, clearly affected, pursing his lips in an expression of extreme anger. He looks away from the scene, trying not to show his emotions, and then turns back to focus on the camera.*
It's absolutely necessary that we prepare for what is coming. We all have been receiving quite clear signs for several months that something is brewing in the minds of these disgusting aliens, something big. The increasingly frequent contacts with ships with unknown identifications, the alien activity becoming common even in systems like not so much on the frontier like Theta... Everything points to a great movement of this aberrations such as perhaps we haven't seen since the Great Nomad War. And now this last event, which only confirms the worst suspicions.
Besides, this entails a great step in the gain of territory by the aliens. The loss of Cairo and Capetown directly implies the fall of whole Zeta in their tentacles, and the establishment of Omicron Delta as a new frontier between the human forces and the aliens. A frontier that must be actively defended for all those affected, to the extent that each one can. We cannot assume that the Order will be able to take care of everything, because it has already been proven that this isn't the case. They couldn't save Cairo, and wouldn't even have been able to evacuate it without help. The spawns of Evil are approaching, and we'll need everyone's involvement to stop them.
For my part, I'm going to send other two gunboats to Freeport 11 to support the defense of the system, and I'll discuss with the Field Maestre of my Guard the possibility of sending one of our two Fearless-class destroyers. I cannot commit any more forces either, by the moment at least. Our naval resources are very limited, and I don't want to leave Theta without any of our warships nearby. I guess we'll also have to make an economic effort and allocate an extra part of the Church's budget for the acquisition of more gunboats, and perhaps something... bigger. I really fear that we may soon suffer further Nomad or infected incursions, as we did several months ago.
On the other hand, I think we should start taking measures to protect Theta, beyond merely patrolling it with ships. What we learned on Zeta shows us that the scale of the Nomad horde is far greater than we could have ever imagined, so I think we would do well to prepare not only to fight the aberrations when they come, but also to resist in the case that we cannot win the fight in open space. Reinforcing the defenses in system's facilities like Freeport 9 or the General Academy should be one of the first steps to take, and I think it would also be advisable to acquire internal security systems for detecting humans infected by alien incubi, like the ones Freeport 11 has.
*Gregorius pauses for two or three seconds, as if he were hesitating whether to continue, but finally does so.*
I think we may also need to... collaborate to some extent with Phoenix, to coordinate the system's defense. After all, right now they completely control Corfu, and have all the control it's possible to have over a place like Planet Pygar, in addition to having a respectable combat fleet. I know the situation isn't the most propitious for this, due to their constant intention to sabotage the Treaty, and the current state of relations between the Imperio and them, but... Ladies and gentlemen, we're talking about the survival of the human race, as a concept. If that's not a reason for us to put aside any of our differences for a while, I don't know what to think about the future of our species.
I would like to hear your opinions on all this matter, and your ideas on how to approach this urgent situation. So far we've shown that our joint work has managed to overcome all the tests that fate has put before us. That's why I'm confident that by working together, and with the invaluable help of Deux Our Lord, we'll manage to find a solution to this problem.
It is much appreciated that you inform us about what happened in Omicron Zeta with the emerging Nomad threat. Although our relations with the Order have deteriorated in the last months, it is alarming to hear that the former forefront of humanity in the Deep Omicrons has apparently fallen into Nomad hands. While we do not have much interest in Omicron Zeta itself, the risk of an even stronger presence of Nomads and Infected in Omicron Delta or Theta cannot be in our interests or in the interest of any human calling the Omicrons their home. We encourage your plans to acquire more combat-capable vessels to be prepared for further Nomad attacks and will likewise increase our military presence and scouting patrols in Omicron Delta to keep a close eye on the situation.
Regarding your suggestion to increase base defense and security systems on Freeport 9, we already have a reasonably strong defensive fleet and installations especially since the uprising of the conflict with Phoenix Zoners and their allies. In addition, reinforcements from Creta can always be sent upon order from our Elders if necessary. However, our infection detection and decontamination protocols on Freeport 9 could certainly need an update. If you or any of the other Treaty Signatories could provide some qualified personnel to update such procedures, it would be muy apreciado.
While we are – as you may understand – very skeptical towards collaborating with Phoenix due to the fact that they have shown nothing but hostility towards us, their group is no real threat to the Imperio. Should we indeed face a Nomad invasion in our home, be assured we know where our priorities are if it comes to the worst.

I appreciate your detailed account of the situation. While the loss of Cairo and Capetown is somewhat regrettable, the Brotherhood is not concerned with defending those who care little about or even oppose the Corsair Empire. What does concern us is the clear escalation of the alien Nomad menace. If the Order focussed on defending their installations instead of being a nuisance to honest Corsair artifact traders, perhaps this would not have happened. If they need to beg for our support once again, they know where to find us. As for the Core: perhaps this will finally snuff out their dream to colonize the Omicrons, it serves them right.
Nevertheless, the Nomads advance with a ferocity and coordination that I believe we have not seen since the Great Nomad War. It is clear that increased Nomad attacks in Omicron Theta will be inevitable if we do not act now. And act we will, our allies have our fullest attention and as such I have ordered battlegroup Iona to be mobilised. Our warriors are very experienced with hunting these creatures, it is a challenge that brings joy to a guerrero's heart.
As for that useless Phoenix rabble, I will be clear: they have chosen to distance themselves from the protectorate. They have made their position known, and so have we. Phoenix will stand alone, and should they encounter Nomads, they will serve as nothing more than a barrier to absorb the enemy’s fire. Their survival is of zero concern to the Brotherhood. They will be used as shields, distractions, and cannon fodder. They have made themselves expendable and we shall rejoice in the divine justice of their suffering.
As one Pontifex Maximus to another I wish you well, and for Santa Muerte to protect your people. Omicron Theta is sacred ground for the Brotherhood, and it will remain firmly under our control. The Nomad threat is real, but we will not falter. Steel, blood, and unyielding willpower will determine our survival. Deus may guide you, but it is through force and fury that we will triumph. Let the Nomads come. We will gladly meet them with fire and death.

Pontiff,
This report and a few other reports I have been receiving have been disturbing to say the least. The last thing we wanted to do was put gun platforms outside of the academy but with all the "Unknowns" attacking, we had no choice. I support Dr. Xi in that decision.
I have been stepping up patrols around Theta and into Delta. MFE has a fighter, two bombers and a gunship and that is it. If that is not bad enough, we do not have that many skilled pilots to fly them. I can fly the fighter or bomber somewhat but am no match for a veteran pilot.
It is a shame to see what has happened to the Order. What is more of a shame to see is humans fighting humans at a time when they need to pull together to ward off a threat. In one report my pilot, Lucian Pickett, filed, he reported a.......Nomad......laughing that humans were more concerned about fighting over differences and ignoring the real threat which was them. I hate to agree with a Nomad but it was right.
I know things are icy with Phoenix, the Order and even the Core but so long as we keep fighting each other, we will lose. Am I being diplomatic? Maybe. I am being real? Totally.
I will think more on this.

Seems I have missed alot
I was due to contact you all, but this message took precedence. Firstly I am no longer a guest of the Black Sails. I was released without issue once my usefulness was exhausted and I will elaborate on my stay further in a later communication. I'm currently working on getting myself back to Omicron Theta.
Having been face to face with a full strength Nomad fleet whilst defending Freeport 11, the threat they pose cannot be ignored. The fact they have taken down a long standing Order base and a Core base in one fell swoop is a massive cause for concern. Right now Zeta maybe the front line, and Theta has the relative safety of being the backline, that may change sooner rather then later. In regards to Freeport 9 and the suggestions made, Freeport 11's defence upgrades and anti infection systems were over seen by Velvet Squadron whom I was part of the command structure of at the time. I'm sure I can apply the same strategies and planning we used for Freeport 11 to Freeport 9. Even if Theta doesn't become the main battleground, to have a safe and secure fall back point may become imperative as Delta is likely to once again be invaded by the nomads.
Doc, to ensure the academies protection I will assign the Neversail, a Fearless Destroyer to its defence. It is commanded by Chillworth Blaine, my previous XO of the Kaldra.
In Regards to Phoenix, when the time comes, and should we find ourselves faced with the Nomad's, they will engage them and we have to accept that we will need to fight alongside them. Whatever issues we have, when it comes to the common enemy we are all on the same side.
I will make my way to Freeport 9 to advise whoever the Administrators are on the upgrades we did to Freeport 11

I am relieved to hear that you are no longer in the hands of the Black Sails. Those pendejos are certainly up to no good and knowing you - as our trusted ally - not being held by them anymore is certainly good news. I can imagine that you have a long journey to get back to Omicron Theta, so I took the liberty to have an appropriate quarter ready for you at Freeport 9 for when you arrive. I am sure you will appreciate some rest along with food and rum excellente from Crete considering your rather eventful past weeks.
Our administrador Lucas Garmendia will be happy to welcome you on the Freeport. Given your past experience with the upgrades on the defense and anti-infection systems on Freeport 11, we would like to offer you the co-administration for implementing a similar system on Freeport 9. Until now Theta has not become a major battleground with the Nomads and Infected, but it is better to be prepared than surprised.
As we do not yet have a long-term administrator for Freeport 9 from Zoner side, we may grant you this permanent position in the station’s administration, should you be willing to accept this offer and fulfill your task. That is of course only until the situation on Pygar has become more suitable for your return and if you and the other Treaty Signatories do not object to these plans.
Let me know what you think about our offer and welcome back to the Omicrons.
<Ad gloriam et victoriam, Deterrence> Executor Daní Herrera
First of all, Mr. Voncloud, it's a real relief to hear from you, and with such good news. I'm very glad that you have finally been released unharmed, and that you can rejoin us. There is much to be done in the near future, and I believe that your presence will be invaluable in our success.
It's promising that you know about the anti-infection systems at Freeport 11, and that you consider that we can implement them at Freeport 9. Frankly, the Church would like to have access to them as well, to install them at Faith Haven. We cannot discard that the aliens may intend to deploy infected human agents on Pygar in the future, or that they may even be here already. Our settlers are all deeply devoted to Deux, and I know that any of the believers of the Faith would not hesitate to immolate themselves rather than allow their bodies or minds to be desecrated by an infected. Still, I'd rather none of them ever have to make that decision, and security systems conveniently installed at the settlement's entrances can help protect us from infiltrations by this aberratio incubi.
Executor Herrera, Elder Buonocore, it's reassuring for me to hear about your commitment to the fight against the unholy aberrations. I understand your reluctance to collaborate with Phoenix. It's true that they haven't made things easy lately, declaring war on the Imperio in such a irrational manner, and refusing to listen to the arguments of their fellow Zoners of Theta. Their incomprehensible aversion to the Treaty, after a year of successful operation and obvious benefits for the inhabitants of the system, makes it very difficult to de-escalate the situation and reach a point of cooperation.
However, I still harbor hope. Deux Our Lord advocates unity among Humanity, and therefore it's my holy duty to try to prevent human beings from wasting their lives fighting each other, when they could better dedicate them to the sacred task of Nomad extermination. I regret that the Imperio considers Phoenix a lost cause, but even so, I appreciate that you're clear about who should be the main target of your cannons when this abominations charge against us in a nefarious horde.
Dr. Holliday, I admire your pragmatism and your vision of reality. Indeed, I agree with you that the only way to confront this endless flood of evil tentacles is for us humans to put aside our futile disputes, even if temporarily out of mere necessity, and focus on fighting the common enemy. We must understand that there is no greater threat in the universe than the Nomads. Any other enemy that any human faction may have, or fear, pales in the shadow of what these abominations pose to all of Humanity. You say that our disunity provokes the laughter of them... I'm not surprised. It must be a joy for this repugnant monsters to see how they gain ground while we're still busy attacking each other... Quite a show...
*The Pontiff narrows his eyes, and a flash of rage and fanaticism can be seen in his gaze, while he clenches his teeth. His voice becomes rougher, turning into an unpleasant whisper filled with hate.*
They're unnatural creatures crafted by unholy hands to ravage the universe and invade it like a cancer, eradicating all life within their reach. Their only reason for existence is to spread death and desolation, and they delight in fulfilling their purpose. You cannot negotiate with them, you cannot use diplomacy, bribes, or even threats, because their only goal will always be the demise of our race, and they covet nothing else. There are even those who have tried to use the Nomads as a strategic asset, or as a tactical advantage against other humans... Mad fools... The only interaction that can be had with a Nomad, an infected human, or a heretic worshiper, must be the purification through plasma and fire. We must be aware that in the moment they appear in front of us, any human further dispute must be stopped. Our weapons must be turned as one towards the aliens and proceed with the Holy Purge... until the dismembered pieces of the last of them burn in the void... consuming themselves... under the gaze of Our Lord...
*Gregorius's voice gradually fades to silence, staring into nothing. A slight smile of pleasent satisfaction lights up his enraptured face, clearly enjoying the vision his mind is currently imagining. After a few seconds, he blinks rapidly and his eyes return to focusing on the camera, with a totally calm expression as if nothing had happened.*
In another order of things... Dr. Holliday, I didn't know that you had such a lack in terms of ships with combat capabilities to defend the Academy. I will be sending one of the two gunships of the Pontifical Navy that will remain on Theta to take charge of the protection of your facilities. With the destroyer that Mr. Voncloud intends to send and our gunship, as well as the new weapons platforms you've installed, I think we can ensure the station is secure against attacks of aberrations and of those... unknown ships. In addition, I will ask my Field Maestre about the possibility of modifing our fighter patrol routes, so that they regularly pass near the Academy and verify that everything is okay.
Oh... I almost forgot. Executor Herrera, I fully support your idea of offering Mr. Voncloud the position of Zoner co-Administrator of Freeport 9. The extensive experience he already has as a manager will be of great use in keeping the station safe in these dangerous times, and in supervising the rebuilding works of the biodomes. As a resident of Pygar, I know his approach to running an Administration, and I can say that I know of no one more suited to the position than him. A man capable of putting the well-being of those under his responsibility before his personal pride will always have my respect.

Pontiff, do not commit more than you can spare to guard our base from attack. You have your own problems to deal with but whatever help is offered is accepted and we are grateful for it.
I also support the motion for Mr. VonCloud to administrate Freeport 9. He considers the people in his decisions and while the establishment is important, it will not exist without the people. Maybe one day Phoenix will learn that.
Senor Herrera, I need to rotate out my medical crews on Nine. They have reached their maximum stay time there and I have a new crew and supplies for them to bring to the station. I am letting you know to be transparent and so that you will be expecting their arrival.
OSI recognizes the shifting dynamics within Omicron Theta and beyond, and we reaffirm our commitment to the security of Freeport 9 and all assets falling under the treaty’s protection. Recent actions and statements from Phoenix raise concerns about the direction of governance in the region, but our focus remains clear: ensuring stability, security, and unity against the real threat—the Nomads.
Diplomacy is essential, but it must be reinforced with tangible actions. We stand with Doc Holliday in emphasizing that words alone are not enough. OSI will take the necessary steps to strengthen Freeport 9’s defenses and safeguard critical assets in Theta and other treaty-covered zones.
While Phoenix’s approach may appear authoritarian, their stance against the Nomads aligns with our own priorities. In times of crisis, pragmatism must prevail, and the old adage holds true: the enemy of my enemy is my friend. However, that relationship depends on Phoenix recognizing where the real threat lies. When the situation deteriorates, we expect them to act accordingly—standing against the Nomads rather than against those who signed the treaty, regardless of past disagreements.
OSI remains steadfast in our commitment to upholding our responsibilities and ensuring the integrity of the treaty. We urge all parties to do the same—not merely in words, but through meaningful actions. But then again, that would be preaching to the converted, and I'm sure the Pontiff has already covered that.
On a final note, I picked up a gunboat recently, figured it’s about time I paid the academy a visit. Been a while since I had to put my trigger finger to work, but muscle memory’s a funny thing—it’ll come back soon enough if someone gives me a reason… or if old age gets me first. Whichever happens first, I guess.
Executor Herrera, Omicron Theta signatories, I bring you a report of recent operations.
The Corsairs on Freeport Nine have been assigned on an acquasition campaign and they have brought supplies and resources to the storage units of the station. Inventory has been taken of what we have and we are confident in showing you what has been stockpiled so far. We are preparing to distribute this to you, Theta signatories, and your bases of operation, as a sign of respect, that the treaty has been successfully upheld by our collective efforts, and as a boost to improve our defensive capabilites even more. It is evident that the destruction of the Order base by the alien Nomads has escalated the situation. While we won't be facing the alien menace head on yet, the loss of the Order will enable the presense of Nomads in Omicron Theta to increase.
I am sending a detailed report for you to look inspect. Review this and then we shall coordinate on how to distribute the goods.
Security Level: Authorized for Zoner Administration - Freeport 9
This written report documents Deterrence opearations involving the bolstering the defense of Omicron Theta in the event of a possible incursion of Nomad vessels into Corsair territory. Corsair forces have secured and delivered the following resources to strengthen our shared defensive capabilities on Freeport 9.
