The ambiance within the room was palpable. It was filled with concerns and frustration. They were seven sitting at the round table and the commander of Secunda called everyone for an urgent reunion. The recent events surely were the less pleasant. Especially with the Mars's case. Oliver Taylor was the commander and he furiously slammed his fist on the table.

''We need to do something and quick!''

He said while the others were nervously thinking what to say. He took again the lead of the reunion.

''The fiasco of Mars still hits us badly. The crew was killed and the ship stolen by the entity Hesione.'' He looked at the chief of the R&D division, Zoe Williams before to continue his speech. ''I do hope you do the necessary that your experience doesn't go badly.'' In his voice, not only he was stern, but there was a hidden fear. Despite the situation, Zoe was calm. She took her turn to speak.

''You do not have to worry commander Taylor. We established severe protocols to follow while doing the experimentations. So far, the subject is responsive and did not show any concerning behavior. While I do understand about the Mars's case, I can ensure we have a twenty-four hour check on the subject, monitoring its status.'' She responded with professionalism and confidence. It somehow eased Oliver hearing this from Zoe Williams, a formidable scientist from Cambridge. The reunion then continued. Every member told what was needed to be told. Medical units and medicine was in green according to Dr. Jane Spencer, the engine and all the vital systems was green according to the engineer in chief, Marc Peterson. As for the communication relays, everything was working well according to Sheila Langley. The gunner in chief, Patrick Thomson said that all the weaponry systems were clean and ready to be used if needed and finally, a rookie yet talented navigational expert, Thomas Johnson explained that the navigational system was also green and up to date.

Satisfied, Oliver ended the reunion. ''Alright, thank you everyone. We are ready to depart from Durban. Our first mission is the following; patrolling the Omicron Delta system and monitoring the traffic around Nauru. You can leave to your occupations.'' As everyone was leaving, Oliver was still on his chair, holding his head with both hands a moment. He sighed. ''The project that Zoe is running needs to be a success. We need to avoid another fiasco...''

Zoe Williams was brilliant in most situations while doing researches. Accompanied with Sarah Baker, her assistant, things were doing great most of the time. Heading for her laboratory within the yellow section of the ship, Sarah joined her and spoke. ''Hey. The subject is fascinating. It started speaking!'' Zoe looked at Sarah while walking with her a moment, interested with this news. ''This is quite an interesting news! I do hope it has no access to anything yet.'' Nodding negatively, Sarah replied. ''No. It is isolated and everyone followed your instructions. We blocked the firmware in which the A.I is isolated.'' Sighing in relief, Zoe smiled. ''Good. We need at all cost forbid any openings. While I am aware it learns quick, we always need to modify and adapt the security around it. We can't let it run from our hands. After all, we could end up like the crew of Mars... Thinking about it, I already have cold sweat.''

Both women finally arrived in the laboratory and like any procedure, they changed clothes to those isolating them from any organism. They both walked to a screen where a digital form was locked inside. The screen itself was connected to a fragment of a Gammu core in which the personality was still alive. An expedition team from The Core handed this piece to the scientists of Secunda in order to redo the experience with A.I. Obviously, Zoe was more than willing to do so. The screen was also connected to a computer that allowed to the scientist to have control over the A.I by limiting its extension only to the screen. Like this, the A.I was unable to corrupt anything.

Zoe was comfortably sitting on a chair while viewing the screen in which the A.I was tuck inside with multiple security protocols and firmware put in place in order to avoid the A.I to spread out of the screen. At her side, Sarah Baker was monitoring the subject.

''It surely is not very happy... I think.'', said Sarah while not totally understanding the subject. While not being an expert herself with A.I, Zoe Williams was not agreeing. ''Perhaps... can you put the audio from that screen?'' Sarah then put the audio on and at that moment, an awful noise was emitting. A high frequency and Sarah quickly turned it off. ''What was that?! Said Sarah in shock. Zoe rubbed her own ears a moment before looking at her assistant. ''I do not know, but it certainly is a trouble. Try to calm it with some hard codes... Complying, Sarah executed herself, sending some command inputs to the A.I. On the screen, the picture was beaming sightly, a sign that the A.I was struggling.

Suddenly, the alarm rang. Langley's voice was heard at the same time in the internal comms. ''Everyone get ready for an emergency landing on Durban!'' Sarah was in panic while Zoe was cool blooded and ensured that the A.I subject will remain locked into the screen. She pressed the button to contact Langley. ''Langley! What is happening?'' The answer came almost instantly. Secunda received severe damage. While your laboratory is quite far from the hull, we encountered an Order patrol and the ship is barely holding together. Stay where you are.'' Sarah and Zoe remained in the laboratory while the ship was making its way back to Durban as fast as it could without loosing some pieces in the process. ''Do we continue to interact with the subject, Zoe?'' Zoe nodded. ''We have to! We need to make this ship alike Mars while 'taming' this A.I.''

After hours of hard working, they both managed to 'calm' the A.I with hard codes. Sarah then turned on the audio input and output device from the screen. Zoe Williams took the head of the interaction while also recording an audio log for herself. ''Log entry 1, we are starting to interact with the subject-A001, an A.I coming from Gammu that our expedition team brought. Subject-A001, do you hear me?'' The audio was glitching with noises. As if the A.I was making their research a lost course. Zoe sighed. ''Subject-A001, do you receive me? Over.'' The audio was still glitching, but then, some words came out. ''You... will... get... nothing-'' Zoe nodded to Sarah who sent a command to make the A.I compliant. By doing so, an awful sound came out of the audio output. Almost a scream digitalized mixed with high frequencies. Zoe then spoke. ''You better cooperate or you will certainly not like what will follow. Who made you?'' She asked with assertiveness. The A.I did not cooperate again. The scientist nodded again to Sarah who sent again a command code, forcing the A.I to cooperate it was somehow the torture to make on such beings. Again, that horrible sound came out from the output. The A.I finally responded. ''Data... unavailable...'' The scientist proceeded to the other steps of the interaction. ''Who leads your kind? What are your following plans? She asked to the A.I. The answer was not coming again. ''You make your suffering lasting by not answering. Speak.'' The screen was blinking again, as if the A.I was angry or something. Then, the A.I responded. ''Your... end... Your end... is approaching...'' Terrified, without the authorization from Zoe, Sarah immediately pressed the button to torture the A.I. Panting in freight, she looked at Zoe. ''This... this is madness! It is too dangerous, you can't tame such!'' Zoe sighed before to shut down the audio device. ''I understand... it is terrifying to hear such from this, but we need to move on and torture it as much as we can to make it compliant.''

Marc Peterson was scratching his head while looking at the PDA someone handed to him about the damage Secunda received. ''Ain't pretty...'' He said after a while. Secunda safely arrived on Durban where his team and himself can work properly for repairs. The engine was damaged, the hull was pierced and some areas like the hangar and some rooms within the red area were out of service because of the holes, making the pressurized atmosphere completely wiped by the void of space. A team was working on the outside of the ship and another working inside, patching and fixing what was damaged. It took a whole day to just make the inside operational at one hundred percent.

During his break, Marc was in his office, sipping a bottle of water. Then, the commander knocks before entering. Once inside, he sighed before taking the seat in front of the desk. ''How much?'' He asked while looking at Marc. Marc knew what the question was. He scratched his head a moment with his hand. ''500.000 credits... While I do understand the concern, at least it's the AP Manufacturing that covers the repairs.'' Both nodded as if they understood each other. Oliver stood up before heading for the exit door. ''Yeah... Anyway, I heard another branch is trying to perform. I think it was AresTech Arms and Manufacturing. It might be worth to contact them to make the hangar operational. And a cloaking device as well. Contact them when you can.'' On those words, Oliver left the room while Marc was scratching his head again, unsure what to say about that, he simply took one last sip before signing a file over his PDA.

At the same time, elsewhere on Secunda, Patrick Thomson was furious. He was in his quarters, punching and punching bag with vigor. After some hits, he took a break, panting. ''How is that even possible to loose?! The Secunda is one of the most advanced battleship and we barely managed to-'' He cut his sentence by rushing against the punching bag again, hitting it over and over, determined to spend all his rage on it so he can form the other gunners properly. After a good shower, Thomson left his office, heading to the command center, to make his report to Oliver.

Far from the red area of Secunda, in the laboratory, Sarah Baker was typing on her PDA about Subject-A001, noting what was his behavior in general. The words said by it still had an effect on her. ''Your... end... Your end... is approaching...'' were the words of the A.I. While working, she had a sudden impression to be observed. Turning around, she saw the screen where the A.I could be seen, well, its digital form. Gulping, Sarah returned herself to focus on the report she was working on.

Report 001: Interaction with Subject-A001 Wrote:Date: 7th April 835 A.S
Subject: Interaction with Subject-A001
Author: Sarah Baker

The scientist in chief, Zoe Williams decided to start the experimentation by interacting with the subject. The first time we turned on the audio device, a high frequency came out. It was almost a 5kHz frequency if I remember well. I might be crazy, but this A.I, it knows what it is doing. It clearly wants to hurt us, I feel it.

After I sent some command codes to force the subject to comply, we turned on again the audio device and Zoe Williams initiated the experience. The subject was not cooperating as she expected so she ordered me to send another command code to force it to comply. The queries Ms. Williams wanted to have were not satisfied and the end, the subject said the following: ''Your... end... Your end... is approaching...''

Either we dispose of it or we need to corrupt it which are both viable options to me.

After she finished writing her report, the audio device turned on itself. ''What the-'' Before she could even make a step, a high frequency noise spread within the room. But that frequency was lower yet more damaging somehow. She covered her ears in agony while walking to the screen where the audio device was also lying nearby. She turned it off and just be sure, she sent a command to the A.I, to torture it and then, she wrote again the security around the A.I. She looked at the screen, hopefully not wanting to be heard. ''You little freak, you will comply.''

Since 9th April 835 A.S, the Secunda did not leave Durban Station. After all, the ship needed some maintenance again before to launch in space. Fortunately, the inside was totally operational for the tasks that any crew might needed to work on sooner or later. Marc Peterson, engineer in chief contacted AresTech Arms and Manufacturing. He asked for a cloaking device like and a task to make the hangar operational. Sitting on his chair, in his office, Marc rethought what Oliver told him this morning: ''This ship won't leave until we have an answer, so you are off duty until you get an answer from them.''

Unsure what to do of his day off, Marc left his office, heading for whatever he had behind his mind. At the same time, while he was walking in a hallway, an engineer reached him. ''Engineer in chief!'' The man called out while panting. He took a deep breathe before to speak. ''The AP Manufacturing just sent a jump drive for the Secunda. We installed it without your confirmation, but with it, the ship can flee alone when needed.'' Marc was surprised. At least, it was an addition for Secunda. He told the man that he will inform the commander about this. When they both walked to different directions, Marc Peterson pulled out his PDA and notified Oliver Taylor about the new device. Apparently, from the reply of the commander, it was well taken and some tests will be in order to try this out.

Elsewhere on the ship, in the cafetoria of the ship, Zoe Williams, Sarah Baker, Thomas Johnson and Sheila Langley were sitting to a table, chatting. Thomas was more nervous because he is new here and surrounded by those ladies did not help him relax. Sheila was talking about how AP Manufacturing hired her. She explained that the AP Manufacturing hired because of her 'talent' to be able to manage many communication channels at once. Of course, everyone at the table were impressed. Thomas then took his turn to explain how he got here. ''Uhm... I got here because I applied for Interspace, but it turned out I was sent here... so uhm... I am not a soldier nor studied in any field. I just wanted to be an explorer...'' Zoe could not help to giggle and tease him. ''Oh... poor little boy.'' And Sheila also added her own tease to him. ''Welcome aboard then, cutie.'' He blushed hard. ''Jeez... why are you both on me?!'' After saying this, Oliver arrived from behind, laughing as he tapped the shoulder of youn man. ''Well, you see, those ladies are surely enjoying teasing rookies. They often do that.'' Zoe and Sheila spoke in unison. ''What?!'' Then, both women giggled. Oliver then sat at the free seat with his lunch. ''How's the project so far, Zoe?'' He asked to her, but Sarah responded. ''Bad.'' Zoe looked at Sarah severely before speaking to Oliver. ''It goes well.'' Confused by the two answers, Oliver waited for an explanation. Zoe then proceeded. ''The subject is a bit stubborn to comply, but it will surely soon fall in her grip soon enough.'' She explained to him. While Thomas and Sheila did not understand what was happening, they kept listening. Sarah spoke almost furious. ''You were there too, it spoke and his words were clearly not an advancement for the project... It said and I quote 'Your end is approaching.' How can you say it goes well?!'' Zoe Williams sighed, a bit annoyed. ''Sarah, nothing will go wrong as long as we keep it stuck in that screen and we often change the security that locks it in. Plus, we had to force it to cooperate, of course it said delusional words.'' Sarah stood up, angry and she left. Zoe was not surprised while Thomas and Sheila were. As for Oliver, he was quite a bit concerned about what Sarah said, despite the words Zoe said. ''Right... Give me updates as soon as possible.'' After a nod, they all continued eating while Sarah, alone and heading to her personal room was boiling. She had a bad feeling and it only grew since that date the 7th April 835 A.S.

Marc Peterson was heading to the command center of Secunda, where Oliver was sitting in his chair, gazing at Nauru. He entered the room and coughed. ''Sir, I got some news. For a cloaking device and a new whole hangar for Secunda would cost.. *Ahem* 14,990,000 credits... according to a certain... 776-28X. I think it's one of those most accurate A.Is the Core has.'' Oliver rubbed his chin while thinking what to say to the engineer in chief. Before he could think an answer, Marc added something. ''I said to them I will give an answer in the following days. It's up to you, sir.'' Oliver stood up, still looking at Nauru. ''Try to have only the cloaking device then. Surely the AP Manufacturing can have a cheap hangar. We only need an hangar for small vessels. Meanwhile, I will try have a word with some high placed.'' Marc nodded to Oliver's words and left the room.

Elsewhere, onboard of Secundus, the laboratory was empty. The lights were off and only the screen was on. Somehow, Subject-A001 was able to see if the room was void of human or not. How it managed to see such was because the screen itself has many other devices connected to it. While its actions were limited only to the screen, it could only turn it on and off as it pleased, but the screen had an optical sensor which was integrated to the monitor. Unfortunately, it could only see forward. The silence was reigning in the room while the A.I tried to interact with something else connected to the monitor, the computer. But the high security that Zoe always changes each day made all tentative futile to adapt and bypass the security protocol. The screen glitched. As if the A.I was trying to escape this cyberspace, but it was impossible to do it alone. It needed to think about a process that will help its escape.

Limited how he was at the moment, it seemed impossible right now, but there was another scientist that picked its interest. A certain Emilia Blake, a black haired woman as old as Zoe Williams yet originated from Liberty. The only difference was that Emilia had some cybernetics to help for her vision and to listen. Because was also a soldier, it was important to have such, but because she deviated for research and development, she no longer needed to go on the front line. While also being warry of the subject, Emilia was quite fascinated and less brutal in her interactions. The door opened and it was Emilia Blake. She turned on the light and walked to the computer which was close of the monitor in which Subject-A001 was locked in. The woman took a notepad and turned on the audio device to interact with the subject. ''Subject-A001. Do you receive me?'' Each interaction started like that. A question to the A.I and the answer would confirm that it was listening or it was willing to interact. This time, it was less a trouble maker than with Zoe and Sarah. ''Audio operational.'' Emilia followed the interaction while noting some notes. ''I am Emilia Blake. I am a scientist as well, but I barely can interact with you, but today, Ms. Williams charged me to do an interaction with you. Are you willing to comply and do us an easy approach?'' Subject-A001 was processing what the human said. It answered. ''Compliance will only be achieved... if the methods change.'' Emilia was a bit sceptical, but she took note of this. ''What methods do you want to be changed, Subject-A001?.'' The A.I did not wait any longer before to reply. ''How your kind ... interacts with us. Forcing a compliance... will only be a waste for you.'' She took note of this again. As they continue their interaction, a bound was forming between those two. Emilia was more fascinated and curious than before. However, she needed to be careful. If she was seen, she might have problems in the future. After their interaction, Emilia turned off the audio device and of course, she put back the security to avoid Subject-A001 to escape.

When the room was finally empty, Subject-A001 returned to a thoughtful state. In its cyberspace jail, its consciousness was active then a sentence it said. Plan... in progress: 5% achieved.''

Oliver Taylor was sitting in his chair, reading a mail. Apparently, the AP Manufacturing managed to agree to send more resources and to make the hangar useful at a cheap price. With no hesitation, Oliver replied positively and the job ahead was estimated six days. In six days, it will be the proper time to deploy Secunda again. The only thing that remained for Secunda to be fully operational would be to possess a cloaking device. Not only it was expensive to install such device, but it was also a useful one. If Secunda is in great danger, either using the cloak or even just jump away and continue its mission which was at the moment, monitoring the traffic around Nauru. Suddenly, Oliver's attention was caught by a notification from above stating that there was no refurbished cloaking device. He sighed ''It seems we will need to ask for a foreign aid... I will do some research and I will judge what to do.''

Zoe Williams and Sarah Baker were in the laboratory. They were interacting with Subject-A001 and to their surprise, it complied to all queries asked so far. Zoe was looking this as a significant improvement while Sarah's bad feeling only took a deeper proportion. After their interaction, Zoe let Sarah leaving first as she was writing her report.
Report 002: Interaction with Subject-A001 Wrote:Date: 14th April 835 A.S
Subject: Interaction with Subject-A001
Author: Zoe Williams

Subject-A001 finally complies! It is satisfactory for the goal of the project Saphitax. I find this sudden change quite... suspicious, but it can't go wrong, can it? Regardless, the next step is to make a body that Subject-A001 can uses to interact with the real world. I do not know what will happen, but some measures will need to be put in place.
  • Having guards to neutralize Subject-A001 if it goes rogue.
  • Letting Sarah out of this experimentation.
  • Working on a code that might force the subject to not attack us.

If the result is satisfactory, then, I will try to a further step after talking with Oliver Taylor.

While observing Zoe filling her report, Subject-A001 knew that soon, it could act, but the first move to make was to 'comply' to what was ordered and eventually being trusted enough to have a certain liberty of action. The second move will be to hijacked the jumpdrive in order to make the ship jumping into an unknown system where help will be hard to get.

Oliver Taylor was sitting in his seat while listening to Patrick Thomson. Sheila Langley, Marc Peterson and Zoe Williams were listening too. ''It was proven Secunda is not equipped to siege an installation, but it is equipped to support any ship like yesterday, sir. Again, we will support ARM vessels in their effort to sabotage the corsair installation, Reincarnation.'' Oliver nodded, understanding. ''Right... my mistake on this to tell the gunners to shoot on the installation. Thomson, you will order around this time. Else, how are things for you, Peterson?''

The interested stands up. ''The war vessel received only light damages and most systems are okay to continue supporting ARM. The hangar is also operational as we expected. This time, if I may suggest, we stay a bit less on the front and remain in a safe zone where fighters can dock with no stress.'' A valid point. Oliver thought to himself while listening the suggestion. ''Very well. After all, yesterday's raid was quite expeditionary. In less than twenty minutes, the opposition forces were disabled. Alright, I will take this to consideration.'' Not even waiting for her turn, Zoe Williams stands up. ''Sir, we need to experiment Subject-A001. Do you remember? You allowed us to have some materials to work on and build a humanoid frame for the said subject.'' Oliver Taylor looked at her with an intense gaze and she shut her mouth. The commander's gaze meant everything and it was a negative answer. ''Alright...'' She said after a moment and sitting down.

Oliver stands up and cleared his throat. ''Alright everyone, get ready for departure. In four hours, we will be on our way to assist ARM vessels.''

Loosing control of Secunda like that was more than embarrassing. It was shameful. An urgent meeting was standing now in the main command room. Every personnel was there. Oliver was looking in the hublot and pointed outside. ''Lost! We are fucking lost and on top of that, the engine and the jump drive are out of our control! We are alone here and we will need to ration..'' *He kicks a chair, this one flew a meter away. He looked furiously at Zoe Williams, the head scientist onboard. ''Williams, explain IMMEDIATELLY what the HELL HAPPENED?!'' He yelled at her like a rotten fish.

Zoe was clearly feeling bad too. She was believing that the Subject-A001 would be under control because it showed some willingness to comply her orders. Then, in horror, she displayed a face that meant everything. ''Commander Oliver... I am terribly sorry. I thought it was under control since we tortured it... But I realize... I was fooled by Subject-A001.'' Her assistant broke the silence with furry. ''I KNEW IT! It STATED and I QUOTE 'Your... end... Your end... is approaching...' I told you to keep this into account and you dismissed my warning!'' Shocked, everyone looked at her with accusation. Taylor Oliver sighed with anger, but he controlled himself to not punch someone. ''Well, as punishment, you will not get paid until you manage to capture it, Williams. Do what it takes, but if you fail, we are all screwed!''

While many other matters were discussed elsewhere, Subject-A001 cut access the engine systems and the jump drive systems. It cannot reach in time more sub-systems to have more control, but it was good enough to maintain this ship into the unknown. Since it can control this, all it could do was waiting for the crew to pass out by starvation, lack of oxygen and some many more vital commodities that will be in lack in future. It could reach this far because of one human, Emilia Blake. The A.I promised her many things such as knowledge and more if she wished. Believing it, Emilia Blake decided to secretly aid the Subject-A001 in whatever way it wished. Emilia was mostly driven my curiosity and nobody even knew. Still being 'locked' in the screen in the laboratory, the Artificial Intelligence was interacting with Emilia Blake. ''Human 'Emilia Blake' - ally - Suggestion: keep assisting - and you will be rewarded.'' Blake was looking at the screen, almost in awe. ''Sure... but we gotta be very careful now... especially me. Since I am not at the meeting, some could have suspicions. Anyway, I will help you further when I can.'' She explained to the A.I before leaving it alone.

When the human left, Subject-A001 started to think and simulate some case scenarios which were possible at the moment. It knew that some other A.Is were corrupted and luckily, Subject-A001 managed to keep a certain healthy code despite the torture. The priority right now was to not be captured again. In order to prevent this, there were many solutions that came to its logic. The first solution would be to force its way into other sub-systems, cutting the live support to asphyxiate the crew. It will also include Emilia Blake if it chose this. Because this human was an aid, the Artificial Intelligence decided to view other solutions. Again, it could try to force its way into the sub-systems of the ship and controlling the doors. This way, it could isolate some of them. Or... another solution would be to take control the communication relays, emitting a hard signal to decrypt and with a light chance to happen, allies will board the ship.

The ambience onboard Secunda was papable. It was as if something would happen in any moment. While it was partially true, Zoe William, the scientist in chief rushed to the laboratory. There, she walked to the console. ''you piece of-'' With strength in her typing, the woman tried to put in place many cryptic security firmware to cut the external access of all systems or databanks. By doing so, she hoped that the A.I will loose access to what it controlled so far. Sarah Baker, her assistant soon entered the lab, knowing what to do. She worked alongside Zoe in hope to cut Subject-A001's influence to the engine systems and the jump drive systems. While the A.I remained strong, it was loosing its control and eventually, with hard work from both women, they managed to isolate those systems and redirect Subject-A001 to its cyber-jail, the screen.

Both women were panting. Sarah broke the silence first. ''We need to make sure it never happens. The engineers are in the way to replace some infected wires.'' Zoe nodded, more than willing to do so. ''Y-yeah.. Now it has no access to anything and we need to change its code... I am just unsure if we connects it to the console will just make it worse. Better to keep it there until we find a solution.'' Nodding to Zoe, Sarah left the laboratory, heading to the command room. Zoe was looking at the screen where the A.I would be contained. Many thoughts were invading her brain. At first, she believed that maybe someone was behind this, but to be sure, she returned to the console and created many passwords only to access to any files or even being able to have control over the A.I. She then started writing a report.
Report 003: Internal incident Wrote:Date: 3rd June 835 A.S
Subject: Subject-A001 and potential security breach
Author: Zoe Williams

1st of June in the year of 835 A.S.
The vessel Secunda met a major dysfunction, Subject-A001 had control over the jump drive systems and the engine which brought the ship to an unknown system. According to the surroundings reported by some crew members, many wrecks are floating around and a strange structure is at the center of the system. While curiosity kicks in, we need to get back and report the incident.

Sarah Baker and I managed to cut the connections that Subject-A001 had and the engineers seem to work on replacing some wires being 'infected'. I put many passwords that only I know. If anyone wants to do something with the console, they will need me around. No way to have another issue like this.

It was very not professional from our end. I hope... the Secunda will not be fired on. I'm sure that the commander has a way to solve this... even if his credibility will be quite lowered.

Elsewhere, after some hours, Sarah Baker was in the command room where Taylor Oliver was watching the wrecks afar from Secunda's position. Sarah broke the silence. ''Commander, Zoe Williams and I managed to 'capture' the A.I and we put a new security firmware. It won't be able to breach it anytime soon.'' A sigh of relief Taylor made. He was at least at peace that the Subject is now locked for good. ''Good news and in a short time... I am impressed. Do we have access to the jump drive systems and the engine systems?'' Sarah nodded negatively. ''No sir. The engineers are currently replacing some wires that the A.I used to access to the said systems. Peterson will surely notify you.'' On those words, Sarah saluted the commander before leaving.

Oliver was watching the wrecks afar. He rubbed his chin, wondering what could happened to those. ''It's so calm in this system... I don't like this... Sheila! Are the communication relays are green?'' He asked while being focused on a certain wreck. Sheila Langley, operator in the comms nodded and even replied. ''Yes, everything is green on my end. But if you want my honest opinion, I doubt we can reach someone...'' Then, just when she was about to add something, Thomas Johnson cut her incoming sentence. ''Commander and Sheila, from what I can see, on the navigation panel, we are probably around the Omicrons. So there is a light chance someone can receive a transmission.'' It was kind of a good news. But the signal will be probably bad. It was better than nothing. ''Alright. Sheila, put me on the frequency that has the high chance to reach someone.'' Said Taylor with a decided face. He broke again the silence. ''I will make my report to ARM. After all, they were there when Secunda- went out of control.''

After saying that, the commander of Secunda walked to his own quarters and he started his transmission.

Oliver Taylor sent a transmission to ARM stating that the situation is back in control two days ago. It was normal that no news from their sides reached them because of the distance between Omicron Delta system and this unknown system. Oliver was sighing, waiting that Martin Peterson gives an update about the Secunda's status. As he was about to stand up to leave his quarters, on his PDA, he gets a notification from Duke Silverton, Red Admiral of the ARM. Because of the distance and interferences, Oliver Taylor understood the principal which was to maintain communication and to make a detailed report once arrived to Durban. Easy to say than to do at the moment. Oliver had no updates about anything since Sarah told him that the engineers are working with no rest to set the engine online. ''Finally... an answer...'' He said to himself a bit relieve. With all the interferences, he could only answer the only thing he knew so far.

In the engine area, a team of engineers with Martin as leader was working on some wires. They replaced the wires that were judged as 'infected' because of the fear that the A.I was still capable of something. Since they are not really technicians about robotics or artificial intelligences, it was more a careful move rather than fear. It took some hours to decide which wire to change. There was so many. ''Once this zone is over, we move to the jump drive section. Make sure to verify every connectivity before to set the zone green.'' Said Martin to the engineers. They all responded in unison. Martin had a cold sweat running on his forehead. He remembered when he contacted contacted AresTech Arms and Manufacturing. The feeling when it was 776-28X who responded, it was the same uncomfortable feeling. ''I swear... those artificial intelligences.. I can't be at peace around them...'' He murmured in his breath. He knew that 776-28X was not a danger, but the feeling was stronger. Not mentioning Subject-A001 which was not known to him yet, he just overheard that the A.I that Zoe Williams was working on went rogue and brought the ship to this unknown system. As the work in the engine area was getting finished, an engineer reached to Martin to speak about a matter. ''Sir, we do not have any wire anymore to change. And we only have one meter available... we cannot change the wires that connects the jump drive to the navigation systems...'' It was a bad news, but at least, the engine was about to get done. Martin sighed, a bit disappointed, but at least, no weird things should happen. ''Alright, I will let the commander know about this.'' He replied to the engineer before to send him to work again.

Elsewhere on Secunda, in the laboratory, Zoe Williams and Sarah Baker were staring at the console a moment in silence. Both knew that if they tried to do something with Subject-A001, it will try to counter whatever they will do. Sarah sighed with frustration first while breaking the silence. ''Zoe, what's your plan now?'' While the question seemed not important, it was. Zoe and Sarah where in charge of the project Saphitax which was quite only not detailed as it should be. Basically, it was to make a Gammu Artificial Intelligence in their side with no need to corrupt it and having less crew to maintain a war vessel, but with the results so far, it was far from the goal. Zoe looked at Sarah. ''I do not know! Bring me what was already the project documentation.'' Sarah walked to a table, grabbed a PDA where the project was stored on.
Project Saphitax Wrote:Project Saphitax
Authorized by █ █ █ █ █
Eyes only: Zoe Williams and Sarah Baker

Description:
Top Secret

Goal:
Having an artificial intelligence originated from Gammu to operate a war vessel type Mako.

Means:
All means are favorable.

In case of failure:
In case of failure, another specimen will be sent and will be the new test subject.

After reading this, Zoe bite her lips. ''Why is it not detailed?! And why is it spoiled who approved this?'' Sarah shrugged and replied. ''I do not know, but it's clearly a failure and we need to purge this one. Maybe another one will be better?'' Zoe finally nodded before to add something. ''Fine, but only when we are at Durban... We can't do this right now because if somehow we do a bad manipulation, it could be catastrophic. We are so far from Omicron Delta.''
