What do Gaians have to do with the price of eggs?
  • Causing the biggest genocide in the history of mankind which also happens to involve mostly Bretonians on the death count.
  • Invading Edinburgh and trying to settle in Gaia, the one place Gaians don't want people to settle in.
  • Killing tons of Gaians while trying to settle Gaia and during the war in Taus.

Pick one, any of these or all should be enough reason for Gaians volunteering with Maquis to brutally murder Royalist remnants. Also all of this happened off-screen for you, as you already left Disco by then I believe.

There's also the little known fun-fact: the first sirian station to fall to the GRN onslaught was a Gaian base. Suffices to say anything Royalist happening in the Hebrides is Gaian business.

I really shouldn't have to beg for us to be included in the potential finale of what has been our sole story thread over the last 20 odd inRP years, but I guess some things never change, do they?

Don't wait for content. Make it. Be the content.
Reach out to Marquis all like "yo whatup I heard it's going down gallia-side" and get an invite. dont get one? Turn up anyway. Avenge those Gaians. Smite the mighty smiters of Gaia.

Provided there will be sufficient roleplay between the two parties.

That being said, whatever sympathisers the Royalists may have are also not off the table.

I'm not sure which is funnier, the idea that someone is going to be roleplaying as the Maquis on the forums or the idea that the Royalists have sympathizers that would be able to take part in this event.

Jazzi, there are no Maquis players right now save for the scattered PvP loggers that appear only occasionally. Trying to comm such a faction in such a short window of time will net you only disappointment.

Two, the Gaians have been fundamental to the development of the current Royalist and Maquis factions in the region of Roussillon and Edinburgh -- they are as tied together as they can possibly be.

Third, and this is a little bit on the speculative side, but nonetheless still relevant with the lessons of the past in mind, but, and I hate to break it to you, Royalists have pretty much dominated Every. Single. Event. they've been in. Unless there's somehow a desire to repeat the Omicron Delta event, where there were, essentially at all active hours, a minimum of 6-7 very well coordinated faction ships around up against 1-2 unfortunate indies, the Gaians have to be factored in (though I am fairly confident that even with that mind it'll be difficult enough to rally folks up).

Non-event IDs are in no way, shape or form are forbidden from participating. Gaians may still tag along and do their thing.

If you want the bonus, however, you'll have to give me sufficient inRP material. Even if there's "virtually non-existent number of Maquis players" out there.

Have it like this. Gaians will have a week before the event starts to provide us with sufficient roleplay around the situation in Roussillon. If you are this concerned that there will indeedly be no Maquis presence (Even though what the hell stops you from making a Maquis character?) - I'll see what can be done.

I am not going to crash an event I am not intended to participate in. That's just bad form and outright sabotage of the side I'd be trying to support.

This is a story arc that has been at the core of the Gaian story development since the mod began nigh on 20 years ago. Story did not have the Coalition beg to participate in Dublin. They did not have Crayter or Militants beg to be included in Inverness. They did not have Hogosha beg to be included in the relic event. The list goes on.

Why do we have to beg to be included in our own story arc?

That is also a good point I didn't really want to bring up to not kick a fellow suffering ID. This is not an event involving highly populated factions with highly active playerbases. Just three forgotten IDs with one dusty player between them getting their once-in-a-century place in the spotlight. There is no organic activity on any of the factions involved for people to build off of. There's nothing anyone can reasonably put together outside a simple "hey can we come" "yeah sure" with the first Maquis indie I manage to run into. Is that really the sort of throwaway slop you want to force people to put out? I'm sure I could do that, don't get me wrong, but what's the point? And more importantly, why do I have to do it to begin with?

You're going to have a lot more Maquis show than you think.

But the Gaians need their seat at the table as per the continuation of their story arc.
