Hello guys , I have returned to play Discovery after a while and I want to play with a gunboat, but I want to know which would be the best gunboat in general and how is it equipped?
Last time I checked it was Liberty "Defiant"-class Gunboat. The loadout is standard: 2xPulses, 4xPrims, Streamer FWG, and a Riposte mine for fleet fights / Ravager mine for duels.

Honestly there are many good gunboats.
Some models you want to avoid in general are Hessian, order and gallic gunboat. Otherwise all of them are okay.
Condor civilian GB is very good due to its agility.
4 prims 2 pulse and streamer fwg is the basic loadout.

if you don't play for a while, prepare to be very disappointed. the gun dispersion ruins a lot when fighting a fast small enemy.
even so, depends of the faction you want, almost all have a purpose built for that faction, but one overall a good choice is the Condor, that is civilian so any faction can use it, and looks good weapons ... well depend for what you want to use ... normal turrets from the faction you want or basic, if you want to spend more there are some coded turrets, the heavy ones depend what you want to do, pulse are good for big stuff, but for small targets you may want to use missiles ... razors can be use for both ... there is no best loadout because one can be good for some targets and bad for others. it is you that must decide depending of what you want to do with it
