---- OS&C Management and Public Relations ----

To the esteemed representatives of Samura Heavy Industries, and to the honorable officials of the Kusari Government,

My name is Yukihiro Fujimoto, representative of Orbital Spa & Cruise for the Kusari sector and, by extension, of the Amaterasu-class liner Karuizawa.
It was my distinct honor to correspond with you during the acquisition process of this extraordinary vessel.

Today, Orbital reaches out once more regarding the Amaterasu under our care—now a little over a year since its acquisition—to provide an update on her current condition and outline our plans for the near future. In light of the vessel’s distinguished nature and heritage, we have included the honorable members of the Government in copy, as a gesture of respect and transparency.

We would first like to express our deepest admiration for the exceptional quality and reliability of this ship—undoubtedly the pinnacle of Samura engineering.
Every component, from its propulsion array to the smallest interior detail, has surpassed not only our expectations but also those of our most discerning guests who have had the privilege of staying aboard during the preliminary voyages.

We are also honored to inform you that the Karuizawa has been informally designated—and will soon be officially recognized—as the flagship of Orbital Spa & Cruise’s fleet.
She has been included in the roster of the Triton Expedition, the division of our company dedicated to exploration, survey, and long-range support operations.
Although her primary service will remain focused on luxury travel and diplomatic routes within House space, she may also be employed for exploratory or corporate missions beyond the core territories.
In such cases, Orbital Spa & Cruise will coordinate with the Kusari Government and Samura Heavy Industries in advance and organize its own escort contingent to ensure full operational safety and compliance with inter-House navigation protocols.

Additionally, we would like to inform the honorable Government that Orbital Spa & Cruise has recently obtained full transit licenses through Crayter and Rheinland territories for the Karuizawa.
Our next objective is to secure Bretonian clearance, following a previous denial last year. We have formally submitted an appeal and would be most grateful for any assistance or recommendation the Kusari Government could extend to help expedite this process.

Now that we are ready to fully introduce the Karuizawa into regular service, we would like to return her to Yokohama Shipyards for a final refit and comprehensive inspection, ensuring that she represents both Samura’s craftsmanship and Orbital’s hospitality excellence at their very best.

Our proposed refit and service plan includes the following points:
  • Reactor and Propulsion Systems: Complete inspection and recalibration of primary fusion reactors, impulse engines, and attitude thrusters to ensure optimal energy efficiency and propulsion stability under long-duration cruise conditions.
  • Exterior Illumination and Navigation Systems: Full replacement of external floodlights, navigation beacons, and hull lighting with updated low-consumption, high-intensity models designed for both safety and visual prestige.
  • Interior Refurbishment: Deep cleaning of all decks, including environmental system maintenance and aesthetic upgrades to passenger and crew areas, excluding restricted service decks.
  • Scanning and Sensor Suite: Installation of a state-of-the-art scanner array of Kishiro manufacture, providing superior navigational precision and mineral density readings for exploratory routes.
  • Hull Reinforcement: Enhancement of passive defensive systems, including the replacement of several hull plates with an updated composite designed for better resistance to micrometeorite impacts and directed energy dispersion.
  • Internal Docking Facilities: Installation of an additional third internal docking bay, designed by Orbital engineers, to house up to three additional escort fighters or shuttles. We would like to offer that this docking bay be made available, upon government request, to accommodate Kusari inspection or security vessels, should the need arise for official presence during voyages through sensitive regions.
  • External Hardpoint Optimization: Adjustment of defensive emplacements to ensure self-sufficiency against piracy or unlawful interference, while maintaining compliance with Kusari civil regulations.

Of course, should your engineers wish to inspect other systems or recommend further improvements, we would be more than willing to accommodate their proposals.

While we could, in principle, bring the ship to Tsukishima for the refit, we believe it more appropriate—and more respectful—to entrust this task to Samura Heavy Industries, given both the Amaterasu’s nature and her proud Kusari origin.

We look forward to your kind response and extend our warmest wishes for a productive and harmonious week ahead.

With the highest respect and esteem,
Yukihiro Fujimoto

Dear Mr. Fujimoto, Konnichiwa.

It seems that the companies currently associated with Samura Heavy Industries have impressed us with their attitudes and interest in our vessels. We value good initiatives and commitment, and we will certainly provide all the technical support you need to keep this vessel operational at all times.

Our shipyard has a dry dock available to house your Amaterasu and carry out all the necessary inspections and improvements to all the requested functionality. Just bring it and present Operational Command No. 2025/1993308 so that the dock master can be duly authorized to allocate the vessel to the appropriate niche. The engineering team has already been notified and, upon your arrival and allocation, will begin the relevant procedures to address all your requests.

Furthermore, we wish your company success and prosperity.

Sincerely,
