Intelligence Report

Captain/Pilot Name - H. Jones

Vessel Name - Morgawr

Subject - Opportune Moment

Transmission -

For once, fate seems to favour us. I'll elaborate.

Routine patrols of border world Cortez and Coronado were initially delayed due to errors with propulsion and cloaking. Ended up spending a few days on Birmingham while the techs worked to resolve the issues without drawing too much attention to ourselves. Ended up being the drive coupler not engaging properly, causing a system error when it got hot. Turns out unplugging something then plugging it back in does work.

Patrol logging engaged at Kingston, as we exited Manchester.

Manchester gate clear after initial scans after jumping into Cortez. Initiated docking sequence with lane to Curacao. All clear. Scanners did pick up a Liberty Navy patrol flying 8k from the planet, hailed but no response.

Moved to Coronado gate via the lane and jumped through. This is where things started getting interesting.

As soon as we jumped through the sniffer started going off, heavy concentration of radiation, not weapons grade mind you, something like a reactor coolant leak.

Initially we were unsure where these traces were coming from, took us a while to pinpoint any direction of travel. The sniffer was giving us no hints, heavy traffic in the area must have been spreading whatever we were detecting over a large area. Moved to Barrier, still nothing.

Monitoring traffic gave us no hints to whatever the source was, but given we were intrigued, we decided to search around Yuma, maybe the shipyard was having issues and would appreciate assistance in some small way.

Given that officially we weren't meant to be there, we engaged cloaking just outside of their sensor range then moved in on impulse. Once we were within 20k of Sabah Shipyard we could visibly see a vessel berthed in the far drydock was leaking into vacuum. Bloody sniffer was going off the charts. We were getting some real funny readings off of whatever this thing was so of course we moved ever closer.

The vessel only turned out to be a bloody Order Osiris battleship sat right there. Two jumps from Manchester. Incredible.

Clearest shot we could get with the scopes.

Tried to get scans on the vessel, but due to the radiation and our own cloak interfering, we couldn't get anything meaningful. Wide-band was far clearer but couldn't get any information other than the vessel's IFF, and name. Turns out it's the Battleship Atum.

Leaks clearly visible on wide-band.

Wide-band is still extremely unclear, but it does hold the IFF information. Not a lot we can go on from this alone, I would suggest getting one of the more overt units to pay a visit. Maybe give the Crayter lot a heads up since we'll be on their turf. Maybe even get them to open a channel of communication with the Order, since all of our attempts have been fruitless so far.

We'll continue to monitor the area until more units can arrive. Just don't over do the response, we want relations, not another sodding war.

Jones out.
