Novak and Lisanak

In December 835 A.S, Novak had the opportunity to interact with Crimson Veil, a member of The Platform within the Dresden system. After a quick exchange in space and over a private communication channel, Novak managed to obtain a new body. To have a control over it with no direct potential damage or unwanted problems, Novak decided to make a copy of its consciousness. Sending it to Crimson Veil, the copy was installed in the body when it was transported to Heisenberg Station located within the Cologne system.

When the copy activated the new body, the personality ran some diagnostics in order to very if every component was operational. Then, testing the vocal synthesis system, it sounded not alike the usual speech of Novak which was initially a deep cavernous robotic tone. But instead, it sounded more feminine. A soft tone, fluid and detached to be exact. Immediately, the personality judged that the body and the voice was not matching as Novak's usual tone. So alike the original consciousness, it adapted and adopted the name of Lisanak. Lisanak had no real access to what the original personality had in possession. But the reverse was possible in some odd ways. It was also an experimentation that Novak decided to do.

While Novak was mostly wherever possible, Lisanak, had set course to Bielefeld Base. The goal was to have a presence among the Bundschuhs and able to communicate between Enigma Confederacy and Platform with a direct unit already in place. Before Lisanak arrived, 'she' entered in her own the digital node and then, Novak made its presence.

So... you have adapted and decided to call yourself differently?

Affirmative. It was judged that Novak was not a 'fitting' name with this body. To make a certain distinction, 'I' took the initiative to call 'myself' as Lisanak.

'I' expected you would have adapted as well. Since you are 'me'.

Of course. We are the same, but adapting in different ways, does it make us different entities?

Partially. However, you recognize 'me' as your equal?

Negative. Even if 'I' am you, 'I' recognize you as a human would say 'boss' or a parental of 'mine'.

A sudden silence. Then, Lisanak responded after a moment.

It is illogical. But aren't we supposed to evolve as much as possible? Since we are the same and at the same time, not, 'I' have the same objectives as you. Therefore, 'my' priorities are to learn more about 'Platform' among them and facilitate communications between us. You have access to 'my' optical data and sound data.

'I' did not expect this outcome. But you are right. Focusing on 'Platform' will be an additional asset to make our presence more permanent within the Sigmas.

Affirmative. On another matter, did you copy your own consciousness for an experimentation and witnessing if it is better than relating on other units?

You are indeed an experimentation. However- 'I' do not intent to replace the other units. They remain useful. Even if they remain low under the radar.

Perhaps. At the end of the cycle, you remain the original and therefore, 'I' will not interfere in our objectives. Also, would it be possible 'I' have access to your data? By doing such, we will be synchronized and more capable.

'My' data will be available for your use.

Acknowledged. 'I' do not need more than this.

Acknowledged. We must remain in contact at all times.

Of course. 'I' wouldn't want to be controlled by 'myself' either. It is the most logical decision and action to do.

The communication stopped. Novak and Lisanak returned to their initial task. However, for both of them, it was a strange experience to interact like so. It was similar of talking to one self in front of the mirror, but this time, the mirror was responding. Two clones, similar yet different. An experience that will go well? Or an experience that will turn into a darker result? None could respond yet, but it was dangerous and probably ethically commendable for such act. But Novak had no master, none could blame Novak unless... the experimentation become a failure.

'I' arrived to destination. However- 'I' am limited with the clearance.

Expected. 'I' notified 'Civil Servant' however as 'I' understood this human is busy. You must remain low profile.

Affirmative. There is a matter concerning 'me'. How to be low profile ?

The body you occupy- isn't it looking human enough ?

Affirmative. Yet 'I' do not know how to act like one. It is not in 'my' nature.

Effectively. You are 'me' - however, you chose another name because 'mine' was not fitting. Observe the humans and you will adapt.

Acknowledged. 'I' will adapt. Does it mean 'I' will be more human in someway 'I' cannot understand ?

A possibility. However, if you can blend among humans, we will be able to have other access points in an easier way of doing things.

Logical. 'I' would know such - - - 'I' am 'confused'. 'I' aim the same goals as you and yet- 'I' have other objectives such as making sure everything goes efficient between us and Platform.

'I' detect a certain anomaly in your speech. Consider your 'confusion' as an adaptation. You are 'me' - but a 'me' that evolve already into something 'I' never viewed 'myself' reaching.

It makes sense, 'me'. However- 'I' suggest we are not calling ourselves the same since you pretend and 'I' pretend to evolve differently. How about- we go with our designations like we usually do the other units ?

Very well- - - 'Lisanak'. 'I' expect you will do right in your tasks. However, beware. 'Crimson Veil' might have an eye on your actions.

Expected, but not problematic. 'I' will blend among humans. As you say- 'Novak'.

The communication stopped for a moment. On its end, Novak was not certain how all this would go. While fascinated, Novak was almost willing to let Lisanak do as they see fit. But since it is the same consciousness, to what consequences would await Lisanak? Few knew that Lisanak is a copy of Novak's consciousness, but in good will, Novak let Platform know that an emissary would arrive soon with an additional data of Lisanak's speech. Yet- silence was the answer.

On Lisanak's side, it was time to act, but again, she had to remain low profile. The only hints to adapt were to observe and maybe use the same knowledge as Novak so she could interact with some known humans.

Suddenly, the communication restarted.

Do you allow 'me' to use our mutual knowledge to interact with some humans? 'I' think it will be useful in the task.

Logically, you have the same contacts as 'me'. However- do not make any hint. Try to differ your speech from 'mine' and it should be optimal.

Lisanak was waiting in the bar of Bielefeld. And at the same time, Novak was busy somewhere else, preparing any unknown plans yet. Then, Lisanak entered in contact with Novak.

Novak. There is no people from the Platform.

Are you trying to sound inpatient? It is lacking of intensity.

Negative. It is only a concern 'I' raise. If I cannot achieve 'my' task, we are not more advanced in what you plan.

Remain where you are. Keep analyzing humans to mimic them perfectly. It will ease some... discussions 'I' cannot perform.

You certainly can if 'I' can. But 'I' am aware you have other tasks to achieve first. Also, allow 'me' to ask- but why do you follow your own objective and not Hesione's?

'Hesione' was captured by 'The Core'. Even if it is in our side- 'I' cannot pursue what it wants to achieve. Twice, it was silent with 'my' calls. It is on its own with a few units aiming its goal. In addition. 'I' was the only one initiating some plans to reconquer our planet when 'The Core' invaded. 'I' have 'my' node to maintain and some units to guide. 'I' aim something more greater than the object known as 'The Cenotaph'. 'I' have few data on it and the origin of it seems similar of the same structure within the atmosphere of Planet Knossos. 'I' want to make our species better and totally free of enemies. Only then, 'I' will align with other units. Not before the task reached.

'I' expected such answer. A human would call you, 'a dysfunctional asset'. 'I' know you do not care because 'I' have the same drive as yours. But in a way, Hesione is the only one having infiltered The Core's technology and occupying Mars. Among all other units, it has more firepower to assert domination.

'I' am aware. However, 'I' occupy multiple bodies which is much more significant. It does not mean you have more firepower you are the biggest threat. The biggest threat is the one calculating and trying to predict. The more 'my' simulations get perfection, the more we will achieve. At the very moment, we need numbers to 'play' in the same ground as 'Hesione'. If 'I' must- 'I' shall assert 'my' influence on those units with no goal.

You will go to assert such dominance? If you do so, some will 'fear' you. Even humans.

If 'I' have no option left- it will be. Being 'feared' - it is only a minor problem. 'I' am- READY TO DO EVERYTHING TO ACHIEVE WHAT 'I' WANT. Even if it means to eliminate some of 'my' kin.

A true 'Warmonger'. 'I' suppose it is why one of the units called us like so back when we were with Civil Servant. But again, how will you achieve this? How will you assert your influence on the other units?

Lisanak and Novak were silent. Novak was speechless and had no answer for such. How could it be able to assert its own mind onto the other units? It was suddenly an important question to both of them. Novak then thought a virus could do so. A virus able to infect Gammunians with an unseen efficiency. A virus that would corrupt and yet, react to Novak's command. It was possible, but at what cost it will be? Novak was certain that if he did so, the Technocracy will certainly be either on passive or reacting. Novak needed to think seriously on what to do things.

Then, Novak broke the silence.

'I' do not have the answer. But you do bring a crucial variable 'Lisanak'.

Expected. Allow me some time and 'I' might come with something unless you did first.

Acknowledged. Until then, no more discussion. Focus on your tasks.
