Liberty Navy - NORR-826-OCSA

Name:Theodore Barlow
Date of Birth:2/7/812
Place of Birth:Manhattan
Sex:Male
Height (cm):167
Weight (kg):72
Relatives: Parents (Dianne, Brett Barlow), Sister (Casey Barlow)
Previous Work Experience:
Previous Military Service:Secondary Fleet

Biographical Segment: A short summary about your life. Should be around a paragraph.

Born on Manhattan to a middle-class family, son of a senior administration clerk, sibling to an arguably more successful Synthfood Freighter pilot. Working hard to get into any form of governmental job, and managing to land a spot in the reserve fleet was a windfall for the young man whose opportunities and prospects were few and far between. Now, as an aspirant to the Coveted First Fleet where fame (and fortune) may be found he hopes to be able to use this as a stepping stone on the way to a real career in the navy. Perhaps one day, he might be able to acquire some coveted title that might land him and his family in comfort for the rest of their days, but until then, risking life and limb for the Republic is his lot.

Liberty Navy - NORR-826-OCSA

Name: Scott Lewis Bradley
Date of Birth: 12/21/803 A.S. (32 years old)
Place of Birth: California System, Planet California Minor, Liberty
Sex: Male
Height (cm): 186 cm (1,86 m)
Weight (kg): 82 kg
Relatives: No known relative(s) alive, unknown adoptive parents (deceased), unknown birth parents (deceased).
Previous Work Experience: Freelancer escort, patrol, deckhand experience
Previous Military Service: Securing independent traders' ships, from pirates and terrorists. Briefly part of a crew in the Secondary Fleet.

Biographical Segment:
Starting recorded interview...

Recruiting Officer: "Now, we want to get to know you. Please tell us your full name, your profession, and... essentially your life."

Scott Bradley: "Alright, [clear throat], well, my name is Scott Lewis Bradley, or Scott L. Bradley, or just Scott Bradley, and I'm currently a, what you could say, a "veteran" Freelancer, pilot, and trader."

XXXXXI was born on California Minor, California System, Liberty; to unknown parents who had put me up for adoption. I've been adopted by a similarly-unknown family and moved to Planet Los Angeles until I became an adult, that is. After that, I decided it was time for me to leave my adoptive parents, who, unfortunately, shortly after, died of natural causes. I didn't visit them at all after I thought was the beginning of my own life. I didn't even visit their graves. Anyway.

XXXXXA few months following that; I met a few, in hindsight quite shady, "Freelancer" pilots, and "traders", who offered me a job: escorting them from Planet Los Angeles, to Planet Pittsburgh. They didn't expect me to survive, as it was a trap laid out by Independent Pirates, but I somehow did, I was saved by a nearby patrolling Liberty Navy squadron, who rescued him from space after the ship they gave me, a rundown Starblazer blew up, from explosives set-up near the engines, an engineer said after examining the wreck.

XXXXXOf course, having a free ship and getting a job offered straight after doing hard work was the most basic of honeypots, should've seen that coming. I thought maybe it wasn't a trap, and by then, I was out of money by then. Doing odd jobs such as cleaning up landing pads on Planet Los Angeles to finish the months in California isn't the best of prospects. After being rescued, I had saved up enough money to buy a Kestrel-class freighter, which I still have, probably the only thing that didn't betray me, except the engines.

XXXXXAfter a while of odd jobs here and there, I had enough to buy another Starblazer, and continued to escort prospective traders, I visited nearby Bretonia, then the Border Worlds. I figured there was a whole other world than my place on Planet Los Angeles, or California in general. Then, I bought a Jackdaw, I've been doing quite well by then, and my prices to escort traders went up. It got exponential for a while, until it stopped. My ship's reactor took fire while escorting a trader in Liberty, and I crashed, again, in an asteroid while trying to shoo away a bunch of pirates flying Bloodhounds, only to be rescued by yet another Liberty Navy squadron. That's when my desire to actually join them grew. By then, I decided it would be good, to "convert" those odd jobs into something more... concrete, more... real. So I went up to a recruitment office, and was offered a place in a large crew on an Archer-class Cruiser. But it didn't last, as I couldn't get enough money by then, and it took me too far away. So I went back to Planet Los Angeles.

XXXXXBut my faith in my country never faltered. When the Gallic War happened, I originally signed up to join the Navy proper, but I was still having money issues back then. Couldn't join right away. So I got shunned even more; "why wasn't I in the front lines?", "why am I here, while Leeds is burning?", and other frankly embarrassing questions, which ended up becoming the norm for me back then. Now I think it is high time for me to join. I've a good apartment on Planet Los Angeles, I know those Pirates who pretended to be "innocent Freelancers", are in prison as we speak, my life settled. And now...

Sometimes, I think about those pilots who saved me back then. And I keep thinking, maybe I can make a difference now. I can help people. I can help safeguard our House. I know it won't be a perfect road, nothing is. I'm not delusional, but I still steadfastly believe in our House.

And this is who I want to be.

Liberty Navy - NORR-826-OCSA

Name: Jack Kelso
[Image: jack3.png]

Date of Birth: 02/24/802

Place of Birth: Planet Manhattan, New York, Liberty

Sex: Male

Height (cm): 194

Weight (kg): 88

Relatives: Sarah Kelso, my sister. Enjoying the resort conditions at Sugarland for an indefinite period.

Previous Work Experience: I spent most of my life as a police officer. Not on desk duty. I know how to deal with scumbags, zero gravity or not.

Previous Military Service: Lieutenant of secondary fleet.

Biographical Segment: I was born at Manhattan. My parents were simple people; they weren't exactly rich, but we weren't starving. The neighborhood was terrible: the police were running wild trying to round up a huge group of petty criminals. But, overall, life went on as usual until I was 14. My sister, four years older than me, fell in with a particularly bad crowd. A growing gang, which, as it later turned out, was an extension of a major drug trafficking operation.

When our parents found out what she'd gotten herself into, they immediately locked her up and wouldn't let her out of home. And they were damn right to do so. Within a couple of weeks, that gang had caused so much shit that local hospital required many bodybags. Dear sister was thrown in jail as someone who had connection to this mess, but only for a couple of years, since she had no direct involevement to the drug trafficking and murder. As it turned out, she'd gotten pregnant by one of the now-dead assholes in that gang. So the newly-titled grandparents had to take care of the baby while she was sitting on her ass in jail. It was expensive to feed another mouth, so I had to work part-time. But we managed.

And then she got out. She was quiet, barely spoke to us. Parents wouldn't let her near the child; we all knew she was deranged. Saw it in her eyes. It's a shame they ever let her out. Some time later, she showed up on our doorstep with a handgun; shot both my parents and her own son, who wasn't even three years old yet. Almost sent me to the other side. The police shot her in the leg and arm, pinned her down, and sent her to Sugarland to work off her debt to society.

A debt that high, she can never repay.

After that I trained to be a police officer. Signed up with the LPI. To clean the streets of trash like her. I worked there for several years, faithfully, and sent many bastards to prison. Didn't advance much in my career: according to the "experts," I was "excessively cruel" and "lacked leadership qualities". Then, some bastards ambushed the convoy I was escorting to the landing pad. I don't really remember how it happened; they told me I was hit by a bunch of shrapnel from the explosion. I would have died there if not for the wonders of modern medicine. But still ended up crippled. In a wheelchair. Useless.

When I got the offer to participate in some a little bit shady project from Ageira, an experimental exoskeleton implanted directly into the body, followed by service in the Navy, I didn't even hesitate. I signed up right away. A bunch of preparations, medications, some waiting in a hospital... And now I'm walking again. With my body stronger than ever. They quietly assigned me to a secondary fleet, where I spent about a year and a half, rising to lieutenant. In the navy, my "excessive cruelty" suddenly became effectiveness. My "lack of leadership qualities" was recognized as an ability to work independently. Funny stuff.

And recently I received word that they want to test me on more challenging tasks. That's why I'm writing here.

Liberty Navy - NORR-826-OCSA

Name: Daniel White
Date of Birth: 07/17/808
Place of Birth: Planet Los Angeles
Sex: Male.
Height (cm): 182.
Weight (kg): 90.
Relatives: Mother, Cynthia White

Previous Work Experience: Briefly worked as a shop assistant in the ship dealer on Los Angeles. General duties included preparation of vessels for sale, test flights and general maintenance duties.

Previous Military Service: Liberty Navy secondary fleet. Lieutenant Commander. Current stand-in commander for the Archer class LNS Oakland. Originally a fighter pilot escort for general patrol duties assigned to California. Brief stint as a fire control operator on a Defiant class gunboat. Has spent seven years in the Liberty Military.

Biographical Segment: I originally started life as a bit of a college dropout. Through contacts with friends made at the time I took a part time job at the local ship dealer in Los Angeles. The work itself largely involved test flying ships, the occasional customisation for a customer and such like. Though after a few years of barely scraping by as this particular role didn't exactly pay well, a mutual acquaintance suggested I enrol as a test pilot at West Point academy due to my experience (and willingness) to fly yet to be test proven vessels. My day of reckoning came when during a routine shakedown trial of an Upholder bomber after a refit, myself and my partnered test pilot were set upon by pirates between the West Point and California jump gate connection.

It was during that encounter I understood the meaning of fight or flight, I chose to fight. The hostiles encountered were in fact destroyed before our distress call was answered, a feat I to this day do not deem particularly incredible. You can generally get the feel for a vessel within seconds of leaving the hangar, or at least, I assume most people do and at the time I did not find pitting a powerful craft such as that against mere bandits to be above the basic expectation.

On my return to the station it was determined I should instead undergo combat pilot training per my CO's recommendation. Of course I decided to take this opportunity having by now decided I wanted to see what I was actually capable of. Much to my surprise I was selected for a patrol detail in California and that was where I remained up until three years ago when I volunteered to (temporarily) cover the fire control station of a Defiant class gunboat, I was commended for my usefulness to improvise in a sticky situation and take the lead where others hesitated.

Since that point I spent the period from then until semi recently volunteering to take on new positions of various of different vessel types wherever that was permitted, I have always liked a challenge and have never expected things to come easy. Needless to say, I now have a working knowledge of more than a few types of craft and its capabilities.

Six months ago, I was assigned to the cruiser LNS Oakland as its executive officer having proved myself in other areas. After undergoing the necessary officer training at West Point. I later succeeded its commander in this role while a replacement was being found. I have since decided to apply for a transfer to First Fleet to hopefully elevate my progression further as my post here is likely to end within the next few months. It has in fact taught me a number of important lessons though, those of which I hope to build upon further. I feel my willingness to try my hand at anything and skills learned from my time with the secondary fleet would prove useful to First Fleet.

Your experience in Discovery: As my forum account suggests I've been around for a good old while. Though I have had periods of absence away from the game due to life, etc. Originally intended to mainline one faction but with the dwindling population of the server I feel as though I should branch out a little bit and give other factions some time and effort. I imagine if you look back enough years I have probably been sanctioned at one point although to be quite honest I really don't remember. I've never been banned or anything serious, that much I know. Feel free to DM with any queries, should there be any.

Liberty Navy - NORR-826-OCSA

Name: Chris Richmond.
Date of Birth: 07/10/800
Place of Birth: Pittsburgh
Sex: Male
Height (cm): 180
Weight (kg): 78
Relatives: Aunt and Uncle - Not in contact
Previous Work Experience: Logistics Officer.
Previous Military Service: Logistics Officer inside the Liberty Navy

Biographical Segment:
I entered the world on Planet Pittsburgh in 800 AS - a year defined by chaos,
marking the start of the Colony Wars.
my childhood in the Boron-rich mining colonies came to an abrupt,
violent end in my early teens when a catastrophic explosion tore through the Deep Space Engineering contracted mines.
Although the official reports cited an "industrial accident", whispers throughout the colony blamed sabotage by Liberty Rogues or Xenos.

Orphaned instantly, I became a financial burden that my aunt as well as my uncle refused to bear. On a miner's salary, there was no room for charity.
They pushed me toward recruitment the moment I was eligible. I was shipped off to West Point Academy in New York, an abandonment that hardened I,
teaching me to view the Navy not just as a job, but as my only reliable family.

At the Academy, I ignored the allure of dogfighting, graduating top of my class in Supply Chain Management with the grim understanding that wars are won by fuel and ammunition,
not just ace pilots. As a Junior Logistics Officer during the Gallic Invasion, I earned my stripes countering the enemies brutal "Starvation Strategy", working tirelessly to keep lifelines open while the Betheny,
Carcassonne, and Embrun fleets tried to strangle the connection between Bretonia and Liberty.

My perspective shifted permanently during the breach of Magellan. Serving aboard a transport support vessel,
I witnessed the destruction of Freeport 4 and the slaughter of disorganized convoys by Gallic capital ships.
I survived the harrowing retreat to California, but the trauma instilled a new truth: efficient logistics mean nothing if you cannot protect the convoy.

In the wake of the ceasefire and the Treaty of Atka, Liberty faced a fractured geopolitical landscape. Following the destruction of the Alberta-Poole Supergate and the loss of the Battleship Yukon in 826 AS,
the Navy found itself critically short on experienced officers. Seizing the moment, I requested a transfer to Flight Ops,
carrying with me the callsign "Otter" - a remnant of my logistics days earned for my uncanny ability to "crack open" stubborn supply crates and navigate debris fields with fluid grace.

Previous Work Experience: Logistics Officer
Previous Military Service: Reserve Fleet

Biographical Segment: Born and raised on Norfolk Shipyard. I spent my childhood watching the Liberty Navy's mightiest ships being assembled, which gave me a different perspective than most pilots. My parents were engineers on the weapon systems team. They were killed in 814 during a prototype test caused by a capacitor overload. Losing them to such an avoidable failure taught me to carefully watch the smallest details.

At the Academy, I focused on probability and defensive positioning rather than dogfighting. I believe that most battles are won before the first shot is fired - something that many Commanders sadly forget. Currently, I serve in the Heavy Fighter Wing, piloting the Goshawk-1.
