Hi from Australia, I have just installed the game on my d: drive, from the website, my ping on the server is 290 and when I attempt to join I get a message that " this action is taking longer than expected"
once it loads for about 40 seconds I see the starting planet, a message board on the left, then I get a message
"connection to the server has been lost, it has either crashed or you internet connection to the server is not working, this is usually an intermittent problem, try again later"
I have run the launcher as an administrator and windows defender prompted me on do I allow discovery to see me on the network, which I allowed. I have tried a few times over the last 3 days without success, ping always 290.
A reinstall with anticheat temporarily off may sort it, if not
Check your DSAce.log to see if it produces an 'Exception' line on every startup.
If it does this suggests a WMI problem and thats where I get lost, the Discovery Discord problem may be best place for a guid through. In written form (from Aingar one of our Guru's)
Steps to confirm:
-open cmd line and type wbemtest
-In the window that opens, click Connect, and type in (if it isn't already) root\cimv2, then Apply
-the buttons in the middle of the window should now become active, select Query, and run the following: SELECT * FROM Win32_OperatingSystem with Query Type set to WQL
-It should spew out an error if it's broken
