Hallo! I don't even know where to start with this intro, so I suppose I'll just jump into it.
I used to play Freelancer in the early '00s, and it quite literally shaped a huge chunk of my gaming experience throughout my childhood. To this day, it truly feels like the greatest game I ever had the pleasure of playing, and I only started playing it because some dude who was supposed to invite me to his birthday party never did (this was like...5th grade?)
Anyways, I used to RP and play a ton on the TopFreelancers server back in the day. Recently, I've been slowly revisiting Star Citizen in the small hope that Squadron 42 actually manages to come out this year. Meanwhile, I came across this server and the HD Freelancer mod, and it's literally given me chills (and tears) feeling that nostalgia flood back again.
I'm in my 30s and a dad of a little toddler now, and I can only hope she embraces my love for gaming and sci-fi in the future. But in the meantime, I'm grateful to be here (and to see such a great community for such an old game), and I hope to see you all ingame.
The info-dump is a bit overwhelming, but I hope to build up my character to the point where I can pilot a capital ship (it always was and remains my dream role in every space game I play haha)
