Public Statement from Bamburgh Co. Management

Good day,

It is with great sadness that I have to announce the death of eight of our esteemed colleagues. Yesterday afternoon our liner, the Lady Agnes, was involved in a collision with a large piece of debris from the Hounslow Debris Field. The collision resulted in the vessel being disabled, with several fires starting across the frontal damaged areas, that are still burning today. Colleagues aboard Kensington Shipping Platform acted swiftly to exthinguish them, however they have not been successful as of yet.

As this is an ongoing incident, the company is unable to comment on certain issues. We can confirm however that three members of a fire fighting party are missing on the vessel, though we do have full confidence that they will be found in good health as the fires are slowly contained.

The eight deaths onboard have been linked directly with the collision. Their remains have been recovered and moved aboard Kensington for formal identification. A full list will be published once this has been completed.

While we do not know the full details of how this incident happened, we can say that it would have been fully preventable with further safeguards for shipping. The company is suffering it's darkest day since it's inception due to inaction from the people who represent transport to the government. If this inaction continues, more lives will needlessly be lost in and around New London. The Bambugh Company will NOT sit idly by and watch this happen. We will not let wounds of the past continue to fester in the present.

The Bamburgh Co. will be taking up the mantle to clear the Hounslow Debris Field. We will not let any further Bretonians suffer such injustice. Inaction ends TODAY!

For a better future.

Lionel Thistle, reply to Bamburgh Co. Management,

My condolences upon your recent losses. Losing crew to navigational hazards is a horrible feeling, there is no meaning or revenge, only an empty hole where they were. While the Bamburgh Company and OS&C are nominal competitors in the Bretonia tourist market, hazards such as the Hounslow Debris Field affect us all. I too have had to take care guiding big liners and transports through trade lanes around Planet Dover. The slow rain of debris and radioactive bits from reactor explosions are stunning burning up entering Dover's atmosphere, but the view isn't worth anyone's life.

We here at OS&C applaud your pledge to remove the Hounslow Debris Field, it is no small undertaking. To that end, Orbital Spa & Cruise would be willing to put forward resources to assist in the clean-up. Whether it is supplies, credits, crews, or ships, please let us know how we may assist. A large portion of our O.N.E. supply fleet is based at Planet Curacao, only two systems away from New London. While OS&C has no specialized mining equipment, I have been authorized to deploy several freighters, transports, and our specialized Taurus Escorts if needed. This is of course at your discretion, if the Bamburgh Company wishes to proceed alone we will not interfere.

I look forward to your reply, and will be glad to open communications in another channel if you wish to keep this Public Statement clear.

Safe Sailing,

Captain Lionel Thistle

We were touched by your words and as such we have sent a gift basket to your headquarters. It contains only the finest Bretonian goods, we hope you will enjoy it.

At this moment in time we are still assessing our plan of attack regarding the Hounslow Debris Field, but can assure you that we will contact you via private means when the time is right.

Dear mister Gray,

I Guildmaster Albert Schulze on behalf of the IMG would like to express condolences over the loss of the eight crewmembers that serve aboard the Lady Agnes. The Guild is willing to lend its mining crews and their vessels in order to assist with cleaning the debris field. Additionally if requested our repair team can be dispatched to help fix up the liner in question.

I would also recommend reaching out to the ALG, cleaning up such fields is right up their valley. They also have a base system that should be able to accommodate your liner for necessary repairs but if they are unable we in the Guild can reserve a drydock at Singapore shipyard.

We should do our best to make sure that such a case of gross negligence does not repeat.

With regards
Albert Schulze, Guildmaster

Dear Guildmaster Schulze,

Thank you for your kind words, it makes the wound seem not so deep knowing that people all across Sirius are touched by matters such as these. We are all space farers afterall.

Your pledge of help is also well received by the company, I have passed it along to the relevant department. If the rest of the Guild is anything like the workers on South Shields, we are in safe hands should we need assistance.

While this coming project is a personal one for us, we do admit that we are shorthanded when it comes to specialist vessels, something we hope that ALG would be able to provide. They too have been pushing for Hounslow to be cleared.

When work commences, we will be in touch.

Yours sincerely,

A Further Public Statement from Bamburgh Co. Management

Good Evening,

We would like to start by saying a heartfelt thank you to all of the kind messages that the company have received over the past few dark days. They have kept our spirits high in light of the recent incident.

While we would love to say we have good news, it is again with great sadness that I must announce the death of two members of the fire fighting party that were lost aboard the Lady Agnes. One was from our own company, the other from our partner, Gateway Shipping, whom host us aboard Kensington. The third member was found alive, but in a critical state. They are in a stable condition, being cared for in Cambridge, however we cannot comment further.

We would also like to dispel rumours that paying passengers were aboard at the time of the incident, that is simply not the case. The vessel was returning from a round trip from Liberty, yes. However, all customers departed the vessel at Planet Carlisle hours before this tragic incident. In this dark time, the company is saddened that individuals would twist the facts to suite their narrative and profit from tragedy.

The Bamburgh Company is deeply saddened to announce that the esteemed Captain Harold Sills was one of of the members of crew who were lost. His passing will hit the company hard, him being a driving force in how our liners operate. His family are being supported by company representatives and ask for privacy at this trying time.

The Lady Agnes still sits at Kensington, where she was towed shortly after the collision. While initial surveys showed promising signs that the vessel would be able to be repaired and put back into service, it has been determined that this will no longer be the case. While the collision was devastating to limited areas of the vessel, fires that broke out in forward sections proved to be fatal for the illustrious old girl. Her forward sections have been damaged beyond any economical repair, warped by the searing heat. The vessel will not be disposed of, as many have speculated, she will be towed to the company's new cargo and passenger terminal when complete. There she will act as a museum and reminder of what can happen.
