Liberty Navy 46th Fleet - Task Force Akhetaten Security Clearance: < GRANTED >
Sender ID: Lieutenant Jr. Grade Thallia Thorn
Recipient ID: TFA Command
Subject: Modus Operandi
Good ev...e...evening Command,
I'd like to begin by th...thanking you for accepting my application. I'm grateful for that vote of confidence. Having arrived at Norfolk Shipyard, I've begun my training. I'm looking forward to proving myself in the ins...i...instructors eyes and yours.
I seek cl...clarification on the remit of my role within the Special Operations Groups. Specifically, when di...discussing my application with Captain Brown she offered the opportunity to still be able to keep in contact with other researchers based across Sirius. To travel to and keep an involvement in their work. The craft is b...best pursued with eyes and ears open I believe, and that flow of information can oft be the difference in a piece of development work.
Additionally, what re...research vessels and facilities do we have available to us? So I can start brushing up on their use, of course.
In service to humanity.

Lieutenant,
As part of Task Force Akhetaten's Special Operations Group, you are neither an asset of Task Group One nor Task Group Two. You were placed in the task force's auxiliary force because the benefits that you can provide to the Forty-sixth Fleet are not combat-related. Fortunately, and as the occasion would have it, the commanding officer of Task Force Akhetaten's Spec Ops is Captain Samantha Brown, the very same officer who recommended you to the Fleet and helped you initialize your recruitment process.
As Captain Brown has already informed you, you are automatically permitted - as a part of Spec Ops - to operate under your own modus operandi as long as you are not jeopardizing the Republic's safety and interests.
Additionally, aside from what the Captain has informed you of already, I must make sure you're aware of some details regarding your situation. While, yes, in paper you appear underneath the banner of Task Force Akhetaten, you are working for the Research, Development and Innovation Division of the Forty-sixth Fleet. I shall also inform you that due to the nature of your work, you are to coordinate directly with the Naval Intelligence Division, a division that Task Force Akhetaten already operates together with, so I don't believe you will find an issue with that.
All that being out of the way, here's some further details regarding what you can and cannot do;
- You are permitted to fly "colorless" ships into territories that you couldn't otherwise find yourself in under the Forty-sixth's banner.
- You are permitted to keep your contacts in the scientific and research field whether they know that you are a Forty-sixth officer or not.
- You are permitted to use any equipment available to the Fleet, as per your unique needs. If the Fleet does not currently have under its possession equipment which you may require, then I urge you to make specific requests towards myself or Captain Samantha Brown regarding acquisition of such.
- You are not permitted to operate in a manner that will have negative effects towards the Republic of Liberty, the Liberty Navy, or the Forty-sixth Fleet and it's subdivisions. I trust you can judge what such manner may be on your own.
I will be at your disposal for any further remarks or questions.

Good evening Vice Admiral Uh...Uhmen,
Thank you for providing clarity to my r...role within the task force, and the time it's taken to do so. I'll be sure to re...reach out to both divisions as soon as I've graduated from my training at Norfolk.
I'm also gr...g...grateful for the latitude being afforded me and the trust that implies. I shall co-ordinate with Captain Brown with regards to specific equipment re...requirements.
In service to humanity.
