Owari family head Owari Musashi comments on Prime Minister, Civilian Government

New Tokyo, 24.04.836

SNS: Prime Minister vetoes KNF structural reform ; SNS - Imperial Diet agrees on reforms

This morning, the Imperial Diet was in an uproar over Prime Minister Sanae Miyasu issuing a veto to a proposed merger of the Office of the Shogunate and the Ministry of Defense. This measure was supported by the Office of the Shogunate, the Ministry of Defense, the Board of Admirals, and the Board of Generals, notably including the affected offices. Prime Minister Miyasu further asserted that a constitutional amendment would be necessary to proceed with the merger and instead offered complete abolishment of the Shogunate in all but name as an alternative.

Here to comment on this state of affairs is the possessor of the Kami no Hitomi, head of the Owari family, Owari Musashi. Owari-dono, welcome to the show.

Thank you for having me.

What can you tell us about the current political climate?

Following the return of Honored Mother Kazu from Bretonia, Kusari and its people have slowly prepared for war. Liberty and Rheinland have, together, been jointly hostile to the health, wealth, and safety of Kusari's people for generations now, and this has not changed recently. Father-Consort Hoang has expressed concern at the tactics of dividing and conquering his former home within the GMG, using H-fuel strains with Liberty to disconnect and unalign the GMG from Kusari, allowing Rheinland absolute impunity to invade and conquer the Sigmas, and allowing Liberty absolute control over the H-fuel supply.

Alongside an attempt to restart the Saigon War, but where we cannot call the GMG our allies, Liberty's hostile conquering efforts in Galileo are plain to see even to the most common man of Kusari. Therein lies the sin of the recent veto. Kusari has only enemies at its borders and requires quick, decisive judgment. Any who have trained in the way of the sword know that a single, fast stroke is the only determinant in battle, and all else is preamble. The choice to deny centralization under the Shogun is a choice to chain, hinder, and defang our forces with beurocracy. There is, of course, nothing wrong with the desire for power. To desire power over others is an innate human sensation, and requiring a vote to pass before every round is loaded and another before every round is fired will certainly give the Prime Minister and the Civilian Government power.

However, this power is gained with hypocrisy. You cannot claim to be on the side of the people while weakening the people. You cannot claim to be for the common man when it is the common man who will bleed at the hands of Liberty devils as a result of your actions. The choice to deny the Shogunate is a choice to elevate the republican representitives at the cost of the safety of the people and betrays their true intentions.

That is grave indeed. What do you have to say about those claiming a direct betrayal of the Kazu family? Many cite that the Prime Minister personally visited Katsuherabo Shinobu during her time in the hospital and that her recent veto signals a betrayal of both the Hanazono and Sunrise parties?

Conquest is separate from compassion. While they can influence each other, great conquest can dull one's compassion, and compassion in turn can dull one's conquest, it is not impossible for the conquering lord to see the wounded child and feel pain in his heart. No action discounts another, no choice nullifies another. The Prime Minister's compassion towards young Shinobu was and is still appreciated. Her choice in the Imperial Diet is not and will not be appreciated.

And to our allies and comrades in the Sunrise Party, do you have any message for them?

Consider your position. Voice your discontent. I once chanted alongside you, "We are bound with honor and tradition to protect our Kusari from the forces that seek to harm it from outside and inside. We vow to die before seeing the future of our children threatened. This is the Sunrise Party." Does the hindering and restricting of the Shogunate and Board of Admirals and Board of Generals while enemies surround us and plot our demise sound like protecting the future of our children? Does removing the direct hand of the Shogun, a battle-tested and time-honored warrior trained and experienced in leading other such warriors, and shifting that power to a civilian-controlled government that does not know war and cannot understand the choices and violence that are rapidly approaching us protect Kusari from the forces that seek to harm it from outside and inside?

Ask yourselves, Sunrise. Does your Prime Minister still represent you? And if she does not, what will you do about it?

Thank you, Owari-dono. Unfortunately, that is all we have time for today. Do you have any parting words for the audience?

Only that it has been pleasant to voice myself. I tend to prefer action over words, but sometimes speech can be a good change of pace.

And with that calming sentiment, we invite listeners to celebrate the third induction of Onigoroshi. Festivals will be held across New Tokyo at Kazu family shrines and plazas, offering traditional Kusari food, drink, and festivities.

Until then, I am
Katsuherabo Minamoto, HNZBC

I'll do something about my superiority complex when I cease to be superior.

Oh, so now the fascists are complaining about their dictatorial move not making it through and now want to kill the civillian government and turn Kusari into Gallia 2.0. I hope democracy wins through and these idiots get trialled

>now want to kill the civillian government and turn Kusari into Gallia 2.0.
the same Gallia that broke Bretonia and brought Liberty to heel? the same Gallia that was regarded as a greater threat to humanity than aliens? the same Gallia that installed the Republic puppet government out of fear of the power of the Emperor, who still hinders and controls us to keep us weak enough for Gallia to come back and conquer us? the same Gallia that is only held at bay because they let a civilian government rule them in place of a king? and everyone is quaking in fear of the day they get a king again and come back to kill all these little civilian governments?

yeah, i'd rather be Gallia 2.0 than still be Gallia's pets. kamis forbid some of us wish to be victors instead of victims for once

Miyasu-sama is justified in her vision. The new role of the Shogun strenghtens the Ministry of Defence and strategic decision making. Nowhere does it strip the Shogun of his privileges. It was her who carried the decision to decimate Gallia in the 820s alongside the Shogun! Go channel your frustration against our adversaries and stop promoting infighting.

>she carried the decision to decimate Gallia in the 820s
And now she's waiting for a chance to kneel to Liberty to "prevent war"
who wants to fight for a minister waiting for her chance to turn on us? remove the Minister so that we don't march into Galileo to save our people and return to traitors like the Emperor did in the Taus.
she tried to limit Owari. she saw our people being attacked and said "do not arm yourself", because why? because it would take power from her hands? she wanted us muzzled to be slaughtered by reincarnationists without ever biting back. she saw the new kami no hime bloodied and suffering, and said "chain them down as well"
the Shogun said otherwise. the Shogun said "be strong". the Shogun said "prepare". the Shogun said "rise like the sun". long live the Shogun! long live the Emperor!
