That sounds great, but I'm a little intimidated by the accents.
I feel like it'd be a pain to type like that all the time.

Actually the accents aren't vanilla at all.
No Molly has an accent in the real game - and I think that's because, knowing how racist Freelancer is, English was the worldwide language at the time of the Alliance/Coalition war. Accents would have mostly died out by this time, especially with the advent of interstellar communications.

For a better reason, English is the only language actually spoken in Sirius - so there's no basis in using a few words from another language, or having an accent.



We Molly players do it because it's fun.
You can do Irish, Scottish, Welsh, or basic English, or Cockney.

Or nothing at all.

The accent really doesn't matter at all.
(Truthfully, my character can speak Cambridge English - he went there. He just chooses to talk with an accent like his mother, who was from Invergordon, used - part of distancing himself from Bretonia and the evils therein.)


TL;DR - You don't need an accent to play a Molly.

Ooh, that's good to know.
Every Molly pirate I've ever encountered has spoken with a really thick accent, to the point that it was actually fun to read it since I had to think about it.
I think the accents are great, It's just that I can't do them.
Thanks for all the info, if I ever get more time on my hands I'll remember that accents aren't required for Molly characters.

I know the NLH is trying to get going some more now that things are actually going on in Bretonia. Two of us went and got horribly exploded yesterday, for instance.

And there's always the LWB, too! Except nothing ever seems to happen in Rheinland lately. So think about doing something that could help that, too. :laugh:
