As the Rogue hologram lingered in the room Laowai leaned forward in his chair.
"This is intriguing news indeed" he said, "The timing could not have been more... coincidental, nor fortunate for us given the current tactical situation,I wonder if these Rogues know how close they have come to being pawns to the Nomads?"
Nodding to gentle he went on "This new opening needs to be explored to its full potential of course, an inroad into Liberty expands our reach greatly"
"Our other efforts are proceeding along satisfactorily - but we should remember this fact, The outcasts enslave anyone that is addicted to Cardamine, it effects its victims at a genetic level we are only now beginning to understand, and If the Nomads have influence over the outcasts, it follows that they have power over those the outcasts enslave."
Glancing around the room he said firmly "Let no one misunderstand the gravity of this situation, those who choose to sit on the sidelines and let others fight these battles should take heed; anyone who will not stand up to defend themselves, or at least aid those who would die to defend them will reap what they sow"
"we are all Corsairs, danger and death is something we live and are familiar with, and yet, if this has fallen to us to be the ones who stand before these alien filth and their outcast puppets let them also know, they will burn in the bed that they have made together and it will be us, and those who stand with us who triumph - who will righteously claim their place in Sirius as the true soldiers of our race and of our people"
His communicator beeped quietly at his side "incoming message......"
Laowai was fiddling with his communicator. Meanwhile Asno, who happened to be seated to the rear of the Rogue hologram, poked his finger into the projection's backside and wiggled his finger a bit, impressed and slightly amused, he sat down again.
Raul entered his home, Villa Yanez, after a small visit in the bar. "Ah, it's been a while since I was here. Sleeping in the cockpit is not always good for my back..." He went straight into his bedroom, where he noticed something with a flickering screen. It was his datapad. Raul picked it up and noticed he received a priority message from the Council. "... S**t..."
Though everybody started the discussion already, they were missing Raul. He rushed into the Council and soon after he looked around. Everybody was there, except one. It was Carlos Benitez. "Hola, hermanos! I'm sorry I haven't come earlier, but I unfortunately seem to have forgot my datapad in my villa." He heard a chuckle or two from the council members, but soon after he noticed they also might have been laughing about Asno, who seemed to poke in the hologram's backside. "Well, who is the person who is representing the hologram, by the way? He looks... Libertonian." Raul quickly took an empty seat and hoped for an answer.
**An immage appears before the Council of a man sitting at the command chair of his bridge**
Greetings honored Elders from the Trader's Guild. **The man says with a charismatic smile**
My name is Amon Cire, Guild Master. I come before you today in an attempted to ensure peace between our people and the Corsairs. Our Guild due to recent events has been forced into negotiations with the Outcast. While we anticipated this meeting was going to have to take place soon, the Council of Dons accelerated our plans. It was always our intention to contact the Corsairs as well to ensure no favoritism was misconstrued.
As such I have traveled in my Luxury Liner accompanied by my Export Officer Coriko Lameos to Omicron Gamma in hopes that we might initiate talks. After speaking with an Elder upon our arrival we were granted permission to land on Tripoli Shipyard to await a time when the Council can convene.
The vessel [tg]Amon.Cire{GM} will hold indefinitely at this location until negotiations with both Outcast and Corsair factions have been completed. [tg]Hades.Moreno{GM} is doing the same in Alpha at this time.
I look forward to hopefully forming mutually beneficial future for both our causes. Thank you for hearing our request and I hope you see it in your best interest to meet with us.
**Amon motions with his hand to one of his bridge staff and the image distorts then stops**
The hologram span around to fact the new arrival.
"Greetings Elder, my name is Sylpheed, or at least that is the name I have taken. I'm the top dog of the Liberty Rogues and I'm just setting up the overtures for some business dealings and shenanigans within my sphere of influence.
"Regarding Mr. Gentle's rather flamboyant exit, there will be NO meeting within Cassini, the contents of which are off limits, and will remain off limits, to any non-Rogue. Our meeting will take place on Dawson Base, in Hudson. This is the kind of thing that Dawson is designed for. You will be safe outside of Liberty's clutches and we can talk in peace.
"Final point, what is this about Outcasts and Nomads? Working together? IF what you say is true then this could be the worst event for Sirius since the Nomad war itself. I will require proof, but in the event you are correct, there will be assistance we can offer. Alas we have not much in the way of effective combat craft, but our supply lines can reach far and wide.
"I bid you good day, sirs and lady, I hope much good can come from this discussion."
The hologram bowed deeply toward the woman, and waved his hand in a nonchalant manner to the rest, before stepping off the platform and out of the projection suite, the final thing to be heard:
"Talking to the Hispanics has made me thristy get me some Tequila!"
Saint Del is considered a holy healer of diseases of children, but also as a protector of cattle.
The holographical projector wasn't becomming quiet and starts annoying the present council members.
"What do we have? The great audience day?" someone moaned.
The hologram was showing Benito Huarez. He faced a smile. "Buenos diaz senora e senores. I thought you did want to enforce the security level of this comm chanel?"
He raised his hand, before anyone could complain about his uninvited appearance and continued. "Whatever business you have with Rogues, it isn't my concern at the moment. What i want to speak about now is very important.
For your information, a while ago i have sent an official request to Kusari authorities to advance our current neutral state in the matter of trading. I have my reasons. First is, Zoners are facing strong odds, Harvester and Nomads. So i'm in doubt they can support us with food, as they did in the past. Second is, Junkers are known for their close tights to Outcasts and i do not trust them.
Anyway i got no reply by Kusari authorities for a long time, but yesterday i was contacted by a high ranking Hogosha, senor Takata Ran. He was asking for a meeting to speak about different things, mainly our artifact dealings and an opportunity to widen the line of goods.
Coincidence? I think not. I have a agreed to a meeting. You can imagine what an open Kusari market does mean for Corsairs. Engine Components, Optronics, Pharmaceuticals, Food and of course H-fuel."
Whispering was going through the chamber. "A footheld in legal markets by ourself, than depending on outsiders?!" someone mentioned.
Elder Gentle raised his eyebrows, "And how shall it move on? You are not an Corsair elder and can't speak for Corsair nation!
"Thats why i'm here, or at least my hologram. I'm, of course, in need of being accompanied by official Corsair representatives on this meeting, which is scheduled for sunday, september 7th, 10.00 pm (//GMT) on Luxory liner Hawaii. I would like to have either elder Yanez or Sephardi from TBH and Jose Benitez of the Benitez family as official representatives."
Benito smiled towards Gentle and Asno, "Sorry, i have no doubts in the bravery and honour of OPG members, but you are well known as too hot blooded and i want beneficial negotiations and not another war. I'm convinced a TBH representative also can speak in the interest of OPG."
"What if this is a trap to weaken the Corsairs by killing or in the worst case capturing the representatives?" Laowai asked.
"I cannot asure it is not." Huarez spelled honestly, "but i have spoken directly with Takata Ran and i trust him. If you want, the Council may provide a task force, placed in Sigma 17 to come to our aid, if neccessary. I have great hope in this meeting.
I do not want to disturb the Council anylonger. I'm sure you have important matters to discuss. Don't worry, i will know about your decision."
Benito Huarez disappeared and the projector became quiet, finally.
Juan deactivated the hologram projector and tossed the goggles to the side.
"Figures." He said, stepping down and logging into the central comm processing terminal.
Juan didn't really have any misgivings about the Zoner Council meeting that just took place. Indeed, he had actually expected them to decline and even throw him out. But a certain unknown element was bugging him.
"Computer: Pinpoint source of communication breakdown starting at 2 hours ago until present."
Processing .... Please wait.
HACK USED: Liberty Rogue signal, Cassini System. Destination: Corsair Elder Council Chambers.
HACK USED: Corsair signal, unknown system. Destination: Corsair Elder Council Chambers.
...done.
Juan's eyebrows raised considerably. He closed out his login and rushed to the door to the Council Chambers.
"Rogues." He said to the gathered crowd, plus a hologram.
"As in Liberty Rogues?!" Juan was briefed shortly thereafter.
"The thirteen saloons that had lined the one street of Seney had not left a trace. The foundations of the Mansion House hotel stuck up above the ground. The stone was chipped and split by the fire. It was all that was left of the town of Seney. Even the surface had been burned off the ground.
Nick looked at the burned-over stretch of hillside, where he had expected to find the scattered houses of the town and then walked down the railroad track to the bridge over the river. The river was there."
Miguel was getting tired, this meeting had lasted much longer than normal, and some of the Elders were losing their patience.
"Folks, we have one more issue to take care of before we adjourn" Miguel said, wishing he could just skip this one, it was going to be.....complex to say the least. "There is a Corsair named Green Hawk, operating out of Yangi Depot in Sigma-13, it seems he has been assigned to a post at the said station by the new Junkers Congress. Now this poses a few issues that we need to discuss, as this organization, has stated in it's public goals, a strengthening of ties with GC and BD, as well as GMG, along with increasing their hostilities with the FA and Hogosha. This may bring out some very.. difficult problems in this Corsairs position." Miguel looked around the room, noticing by looks on everyone's faces that they understood the gravity of this situation. " I have sent communications to this Green Hawk, and requested his presence in these chambers to explain himself to the Council. I also sent a message to Vladimir Tinkerbell, leader of the Junker Congress that he should accompany Green Hawk to answer any questions that may be more about the Congress than Green Hawks association with it."
With that, Miguel walked over to the comm panel on the wall, it connected with the Guard station out front. "Hector, you are to allow Green Hawk, and the Junker Tinkerbell to enter the Chambers when they arrive, but make sure to triple search that junker for weapons before you let him in." With that, Sephardi walked over to the bar, "Anyone for another drink while we wait?" With that he began to pour himself another glass of liqueur.
When everyone had had their drinks poured, and the bottle was empty, Asno held the bottle under the table, out of sight, just in case the Junker decided to try pull something off.
