It's funny I have not met anyone in the game that I dislike. I have seen some annoying kids that don't want to RP but I also play WOW so that has given me a thick skin.

I have however "met" some people on the forums that I cannot stand. The forums create a lot of animosity that has nothing to do with the game. But they also give us a place to RP our characters outside of their ships.

I went back and read some old threads and this kind of thing has been going on for a while its not new. Hopefully it will pass as it did in the past.

Akumabito, post something positive. Something really and truly positive, something without negative undercurrents. I want to see you do that. If you can, then trying to reason with you was worth it and there really is a human behind that name. A human with feelings, with emotions, and the ability to create happiness. Humans can think, humans can feel, humans can forgive and live in peace. That separates us from the rocks and the waterfalls, that say the same thing no matter what you ask them. It separates us from other animals, who know not compassion, only survival.

Can you do that? Can you bring yourself to forgive everyone and everything, even for a moment? It has never been easy for me, but over the years I have made myself happy, and free. Can you let down your burdens, your worldly conflicts, and simply be happy?

Try. Post something positive. Something free of hatred, something free of conflict. Something that provides its own light by its own merits, not by the merits or vices of its context. Can you?

Please, try. Try, succeed, and let it set you free.

//signed - The forums give a very false impression of how much fun the game is.

Ah, i see you have an unfinished grudge. You wont let it go? Fine, in certain points i feel the same.
People on this forum are not kind, mostly care only about themselves. (as sovereign states: animals who care only for survival) But ill tell you one thing, *whispers*.

You see? People here like you. They want to see you let go of your grudges and have fun with them, someone did you terribly wrong (admins, am i right?) but this is the wrong place, and this are certainly the wrong people to let it out on.;)

wise man once say:

'You can never say enough good things to people.... but one bad comment is already overkill.'

*WARNING* Angelfire is mounting his soapbox.

I work with many people who are somehow mislead into thinking that being nasty or rude is a 'right', I chuckle to myself.

Ironically today two immensely talented brothers came to pitch a movie they are working on to me.

Their skills as writers are remarkable, their directing however, needs a bit of refinement.

I respectfully mentioned this to them and one of the brothers condescendingly informed me that I was 'entitled to my opinion'.

Here's the thing.

You are indeed able to speak your mind freely, with whichever tone you desire..... if.... (and it's a BIG 'if').... you are willing to lose people who sometimes will have the power to change your life.

I consider manners as a form of preparation for success, The more I respect the feelings of humankind as a whole, the harder I can push doors to open.

One of my clients is my age (34). He is a very friendly fellow with a great liking for tequila. He is also extremely wealthy and very well connected.

Observation no 1: He does not need more stress, he gets that all day every day from his staff and suppliers.

Observation no 2: He does not need more friends. He gets to pick and choose those as he pleases. Success has a way of drawing crowds.

Observation no 3: This guy can change my life with one signature or phone call. I could end up relaxing on a beach somewhere doing anything I see fit with my time!

My point?

The world is full of people with such power and, even though this is just a game and most of us are just kids, every word we speak in this life is a job interview or a first date.

What has all this to do with this topic?

If I lived in the UK, Joe would have an uber cushy, high paying job. I couldnt care less about his skill, it's his attitude that blows me away. He gives a damn. (I would employ him first and find a place he would excel in later. )

Those writers I mentioned earlier, talented as they are, will have to find their funding elsewhere... for one stupid comment!

Why?

Am I touchy? Over sensitive? A control freak?.

Nope.

I have many staff whom I consider when I employ people. I owe it to them to make sure that the people who will work alongside them or manage them are just as amazing as they are and in my books, if someone is willing to fight for their right to be insensitive.... well, they're entitled to their opinion.... elsewhere.

mwaaahahahahaaa!

I just cleaned this topic up a bit, it totally got derailed. This is not the place to be discussing factions vs. indies, and we've had way, way too many of those topics already as it is. Please keep it on topic, and let's try and show a little bit more respect to everyone? Thank you.

Amen, Angelfire.
This topic was created to bring to mind the harshness that has been going around the forums. (And, undoubtedly, proved it.) Angelfire brings a point into the equation that will enlighten all of those who read it: "every word we speak in this life is a job interview or a first date." This is an absolute truth. Everybody should treat anything they write as if it could change their lives, so that it comes out clean, well written, and over all; just more well-hearted. All those who care enough to put that amount of thought into what they write will go very far, and earn some respect for the writer.

Thank you Kuraine for cleaning this up a bit, however I would like to breifly revisit some of the things talked about in the factions vs indies section of the topic.

I don't see any conflict like that as Group A vs Group B.

All it ever is to me is people vs people.

The second you take the personal element out of it that is when it becomes a lot easier to be rude, abrasive, disrespectful and nasty to each other.

You -have- to look at the people involved to maintain a human veiw of the situation.
