So I have a Freelancer IDed character and I'm not really sure what equipment/ship I can use.
For example right now I have a Viper MkII for a ship and for weapons I have a Purple Goddess,
two Adv Splitters, two Fury 5's (I think), and a sidewinder. Can I use any other weapons/ships
besides civilian, code names, and Zoners weapon/ships?

Freelancers can fly and shoot with anything without worry of sanction. However, how factions will react to mixed setups is another story.

Also, setups like Tizonas and Krakens is too much. Mix it up, but not purely for PvP.

Technically, I think most ships or weapons are available, it just depends on the character. Also, try to make sure your weapons are matched well enough with your ship. However, what you fly, and what weapons you use will help detirmine who likes you and who doesn't. If you wish to remain fairly neutral, then civvie and Zoner ships and weapons are available, as well as the Borderworlds line of ships and some miscelaneous corporate designed fighters, like the Raven's Talon or the Stinger are also available.

Ahh I see. I have seen a lot of mixed explanations before about what they can use, but that helps a lot.
I have one more question about the ID though: Can you use anything above a gunboat with the ID?
I know it says you can't in the ID but I have seen a few Freelancer's in Cruisers, one was in a Huntress I think.

Thanks for all the help guys.

nothing above gunboat, that individual you saw in a cruiser with a freelancer ID is looking for a sanction

The purpose of a Freelancer (and Mercenary) ID is to say "hey, I work for whoever". That means you can get supplies from whoever you like. Mercs in the real world don't pop down to the Mercenary Supply Depot to get their gear, they get it from different sources.;)

Want to enlighten me as to what -is- sanctionable for Freelancers? I'm not talking Cruisers and up, of course.

And I already said PvP only setups are quite possibly sanctionable.

Whoops, one more question guys, any idea how to get rep with the Freelancer faction?
It looks like its related to the Zoners but I'm not sure.
