Ok, I'm confused about this. Whenever someone says "Borderworld ship," someone always comes in and says "OUTCAST!!!" which isn't the case because NPC Freelancers sometimes use the Stiletto, which is a Borderwold ship, so it can't be restricted to just Outcasts and allies. I'm curious to see what others think. I also might want to create a Freelancer char with a Sabre, but I'm afraid that people will start hunting me down, thinking I'm an Outcast. The ship infocards never say anything about the Outcasts. In fact, it looks more like they were created by corporations working the the Borderworlds like the GMG or the IMG or even the Zoners.

Personally, I don't consider them to be Outcast ships. Depending on how you guys vote I may or may not make a Freelancer char.

EDIT: Forgot to add this, but if more people vote Adv. Civilian, can we have Freeport 10 sell some Borderworld ships?

Carlos Rivera: Corsair Brotherhood Pirate - Retired, shifted to Tripoli Shipyard's Research and Development engineering teams
Anthony Cameron: Guild Core Bounty Hunter - Killed in Action, committed suicide after being trapped in Omicron Minor following its destruction
Juan Ruiz: Outcast Ghost of Razgriz Pirate - Killed in Action, killed by the Sirius Coalition Revolutionary Army during Bretonian piracy raid
Michael Winchester: Liberty Security Force Agent - Missing in Action, likely killed during Rheinland espionage mission or trapped in Rheinland Space
Eric McCormick: Order Pilot - Retired, shifted to planetside training of new recruits

Liberty and Nomad Backstory, Very interesting - read it!

BORDERWORLDS DOES [color=red]NOT MEAN OUTCAST!

Just to reiterate. Borderworlds is more of an unlawful civvy line.

This has been done over and over and over and over and over and over and...

The general consensus is extremely shady Civilian. The Outcasts modify theirs (mine has pink fluffy dice and a drink mixer) for personal use, but that they also manufacture civilian models along with the Zoners is not exactly a secret, so don't expect any favors from Police or BHG...

I vote Adv Civ. We've run into this with the Federalists. I realize the Sabre, etc., have a connotation of "Outcast," but it's just that - an impression, not a hard fact, and connotations like that are only because of how it happens to have been used over time. I think that tendency can and should be countered by other, civilian, uses.

Advanced civilian. Some may associate them with Outcasts, as the Outcasts do use them, however they are not exclusive to the OCs and their allies. Zoner production ensures that a number of them can be found on the market, but they are expensive, difficult to acquire, and rarely seen outside of the Borderworlds. The House authorities might get suspicious if they see you in one, but they shouldn't shoot you for flying one.

The problem is that none of the Borderworlds ships are sold on any lawful bases. The Dagger is sold on Buffalo Base (LR). The Stiletto is sold on Dreadnought Captana (OC), America Base (LH), Bruchsal Base(Bundschuh), and Bielefield Base (Bundschuh Guard). The Scimitar is sold on Dreadnought Captana (OC), America Base (LH), and Bruchsal Base(Bundschuh). The Sabre is sold on Planet Malta, Dreadnought Captana (OC), America Base (LH), and Bielefield Base (Bundschuh Guard). The Falcata is sold only on Palermo Base (OC). The strange thing is that the Falcata says this in its infocard:

Quote:The Falcata is the latest development of the Outcasts that utilizes the pinnacle of modern ship engineering technologies. Efficient power array combined with enough agility to dodge capital ship fire - and enough hull strength to withstand occasional hits - make this bomber one of the most deadly ships of its class available on the market today.
This makes it look like the Outcasts own the Falcata, which should NOT be true, since it's a Borderworlds ship. Therefore, we should change the infocard sometime in the future, preferably before 4.85 comes out.

Only the Dromedary and the Borderworlds Transport are sold on lawful bases. The Dromedary is sold on South Shields Refinery (IMG) and Mactan Base (LH) and the Borderworlds Transport is sold on Gas Miner Naha (GMG).

The Dromedary and Border Worlds Transport are fine as they are, but we should sell the fighters and the bomber on other bases. The best choice would probably be Freeport 10, but since bases can only sell 3 ships, we'll have to find another base to sell them at. Perhaps Freeport 10 could sell the Scimitar, Sabre, and Falcata while any other Zoner base could sell the Dagger and the Stiletto. If Freeport 7 gets put back into the mod, I would put them there and maybe the Dromedary as the third ship.

If we put Borderworlds ships on lawful, or at the very least, quasi-legal bases (like the Junkers or the Hogosha), then it would solve the problem of House navies getting supicious and possibly blowing you up.

I like this proposal, with one exception. The Falcata is actually the OC bomber. It has a borderworlds base to it, but you'll note that the design is something of a departure from you standard BW fare. But as to the Vanilla BW ships, I fully support that.

Ok, scratch the bomber then. People will probably have to use the Civilian Bomber instead if they want a bomber. Taiidan would also work, but in 4.85, I heard they're making it into a GMG ship. The BHG bomber would work too, but unlawfuls could get mad at you for that.

EDIT: We could also make another "true" Borderworlds bomber and keep it separate from the OC one. Of course, we'll have to think of another name for the "true" Borderworlds bomber if we really do it.

Sorry for the double post, but I need to bump this to get some answers for my next question.

Why can't we make the Falcata a Borderworlds ship? WHy does it have to be OC only?

The civvie's getting an overhaul in 4.85, and should become a pretty decent bird. The Waran is the other BW bomber, but it's butt-ugly, big, and unwieldy, not to mention that the infocard specifically states it's a pirate design.

Check the infocard. It's the OC bomber first, BW second. If the BW line gets a bomber to itself, it likely won't be the Waran or the Falcata. You have to realize that the bombers of Sirius are a more recent development, and while the original BW line may have been more or less free-for-all, the bombers were designed by pirates off of the BW base. Any BW bomber that was a "true" BW bomber would have to be developed separately.
