Me and some other guys were looking at transports designed to take people, and the only options are the Armoured Transport, Prison Liner, Slave Liner, Royal Liner, Yacht and Kusari Yacht.

Of these, 4 are designed to take people in luxury, and 2 are designed to take them in discomfort. Where's the middle ground for normal civilian people? Not everyone has a ship to take them to work on the stations or generally travel around. I'd view this like a train in real life, or even a train ingame - but designed for people.

These wouldn't be as defended as liners, despite perhaps taking as many people, the people aren't as rich. This is their cheap transport. I'd suggest smaller than liners, less guns, less armour, about 3k cargo.

Is anyone up for modelling this? I'd give it a shot but my skills are a fair bit below par, though i may be able to give a rough idea.

Maybe a Refugee Liner. Something relatively small and has just over the bare minimum amenities.

I'd put it at a solid 3000 cargo, so that it isn't so restricted.

A way a lone a last a loved a long the riverrun, past Eve and Adam's, from swerve of shore to bend of bay,
brings us by a commodius vicus of recirculation back to Howth Castle and Environs.

Thats still not really designed for this, both in shape and info:
Quote:The heavy Anki freighter, drafted to house extensive communication and electronics packaging beneath thick slabs of plating, was originally designed to prove attractive to deep space contstruction crews operating beyond the range of reliable security... However, it's not unknown for the Zoners to have a few models on sale for otherwise unlawful organizations seeking a freighter with a robust electronic package and overwhelming firepower.
Plus I suppose that I view Freighters a bit like people-carriers (the cars), the AT is a limousine, the liners are cruise ships/prison ships, and the yacht is a private yacht. I want something more like a bus or a train, ships designed to get people from A-B, not for tours or luxury or imprison them. Something which can take many people, in a normal fashion.

Maybe not a liner, as then thats more restricted, and needlessly so, as its stats would be less than that of a liner.

Basically something with transport stats, but designed to be a people mover.

I say that a regular passenger liner should use the same model of the Prison Liner, but be equipped with less guns and less cargo, hence making it a very cheep liner.

Spacebus.

But yeah, this makes a lot of sense. Just like, armored transport mark 2.

Yeah, cant say I agree something with these stats should be made. I think it is OORP. Any vehicle designed to haul passengers through space will be better equipped then those designed to haul cargo, just like a Mini-van has more safety features than a semi-truck. Maybe something like an economy liner, or something. As for refugee hauling, I can see them being hauled in the cargo bay of freighters, those that have pressurized cargo bays at least.

I'd say the absolute cheapest way and easiest on devs would be special modded passenger pods mountable on Gulls, Albatrosses, and Trains. Not only would it more closely simulate passenger pods, it could be a more acceptable means of transporting people in said ships without the whole "That's Cruel" speech. Not to mention breathe a little variety into Sirius a bit. I've personally kicked the idea around and I'll go ahead and take a stab at modeling up several concepts as making a cube can't be that hard, right?

How about as he said in the start of this a train. But a different type a train, a nice looking one. I am trying to say here is to take the model of the regular "Train cargo ship" and re-skin it so it looks like a passenger train. Even you can add a new type of front to it so it does not look to big. You can have window on the cargo pods, so it is like a double deck train. You could even base the front of the "Passenger Train: on the front of Amtrack. I think this would be very good role play for the Zoners, since they are a neutral faction that can transport people form the home on Planet Manhattan to their job on Planet New London.
