Fairplay vs Roleplay

I vote fairplay, I don't know the restrictions on the BHG's battleships but 2 of them just entered Gamma and wiped us out. Let's see:
Corsairs: 1 Cruiser, 1 gunboat, 2-3 VHF
vs
BHG: 2 battleships.
Outcome: Corsairs stood no chance

Sorry to rant but I don't think that was fair at all. Yes we lack skills and firepower, and I know it's an RP server but please show some courtesy to playing fair. Lets not be jerks here and ruin other people's fun.

P.S. New players please read up on the server rules. It will do alot of good for yourselves and others.

P.S.S. If you necessarily want to avoid certain confrontations, try to RP your way out of it.

I also voted fair play.

There is always an RP justification for staying out of a fight you don't need to join. And this mod is as much about having fun as it is about roleplaying.

And a big *phbbbbt* to you pedants who claim ludicrously overwhelming force to be an acceptable tactic because it's realistic. RP or not, we're all in this for fun.

I am all for fairplay.
I cannot even name how many time's i have seen the BH's come into gamma or minor with 5+ cap's just to rape all in site. It is not fairplay, or RP IMO.
Also everytime my outcast fighter's show's his face in NY i have every trader in site vanish, and suddenly i a, swarmed by lib's with firghter's bomber's/GB/cruiser's/BC's and even a time or 2 dread's. Even the BH's jump in with a few GB's and desi's.
Yes i am a bad guy, and in real life i would be over welmed, but come on, there is a limit to it. Even in real life no navy would send out a BS/BC/cruiser, and a horde of fighter's to get 1 pirate.

basically, if you find yourself losing, it's perfectly RP to duck and run. And next time you visit, bring more friends with you...
however, if someone is intent on ruining your day by mercillessly metagaming you, don't play with him. Hire a BH to slap seven kinds of *snot* outa him, and carry on. I remember reading some 'how old are you thread', and there is a split between the over 30's male and the under 20's... so remember, the opponent who is antagonising you is prolly not old enough to drink/drive/vote/screw, and has found an outlet for his frustrations. So, you're his therapy. Doesn't that make you feel all warm and cuddly inside? no? me neither... but it helps a little when you've been ganked/dockraped by a oorp cap-whore in a corsair bomber with police tags and a civilian ID card. "I've just stopped the little psycho from setting fire to his sister's hamster... probably".

Fairplay unless you are near a major base or planet. In that case there should have overwhelming numbers to protect what is important.

both of them combined, both can coincide very easily... it is a pointless question in my eyes, i would like to think that i am always fair ingame when it comes to not whoring people left and right, and i do not let cap ships enter a battle that is not nessecary, Roleplay i would like to think again i do a fair ammount of ingame with my RoS, Mandalorian, NovaPG and XA also basically any other of my not so well known character.

honestly everyone is saying, this is a roleplay server so it obviously comes first, or this server is for fun also so fairplay comes 1st. But in essance the both of them are one in the same in terms of importance to keep RP fun and the gameplay fun.

I deffinately have to say fairplay. It's not fun when you got an order Osiris breathing down your neck while your trying to fight two Xenos in their Eagles. My poor Liberator doesn't deserve the punishment it gets. I'm happy to go up against multiple fighters in my Liberator, but sometimes even large transporters can be a handful.
